As Captain Moore said on Letterman, we are a crisis driven society and this is not seen as a crisis because this garbage is far away AND we have a political party which takes pride in labeling environmentalists as "whacko" for the sake of corporate greed. Education of the general public IS key here. I wish I was more optimistic that this society will ever change. We all must do our part not only in refusing to use unnecessary plastic but to educate others, as well. Don't be silenced by bid B.

I am reminded once again of what little hope we truly have as a race to save what we're so efficient at destroying.
