Thank you so much Mr.Hamilton. Most of your videos and explaination are very helpful. Now I can use my hip into the serve. I am surprised to discover that this not only gives my serve more power but also the placement. I can also use my hip to direct where I want the ball to be. My serve ran my apponent crazy today: I placed the ball at the two corners or close to the side lines with power and out of his reach. One thing I dont like is that it gives me much fun but too bad for my appponent.
I have a problem getting power on my serves, I can hit top spin fine and consistency is good but power on first serve is lacking. I have a habit of stepping with my left foot before serving. Is this causing me to lose power in my serve? How can I correct it?
I thought I'd have a good laugh at this guy as most of the lessons I've seen on the internet are stupid, but he's spot on. I'd also add, don't think about isolated movements so much. Let it flow. The serve is a flowing, rhythmic stroke. When you think about isolated movements, it can throw your rhythm off.
I have trouble seeing how bending and unbending translates into racquet head speed. I find that people toss out in front naturally stick there hip out to get to the ball. Really this is a by-product of other things being done right. But a good check point to look out for.
oh yeah anytime you throw more body weight into the server you can generate much more power especially kick serves. expect a kicker to jump at least 1-4 feet higher. also strokes core muscle is key in strokes
hi dlight. i would practice balancing w/out hitting the ball. the motion definitely isn't easy the first few times you try serving so i would slowly work up to it. freeze in the trophy pose and see if you can hold it -- if you can your balance is good.
i have uploaded strokes of me but doesn,t know why i still hitting flat i want to hit spin on my forehand i take my wrist upward to the ball but i still hitting flat
@FYB2007 isn't it natural to have more weight on the front foot Will ? I think Safin doesn't quite have the weight equally distributed on each foot because his back foot's heel is up.
You should teach that girl with black pants how to hit backhand :)

I don't understand why you have to bend your knees and jump when you serve ... ok bending the knees, but jumping?
nardok21 1 year ago
@nardok21 Jumping allows you to hit the ball from a higher point, thus higher chance to serve in.

He doesn't balance on both feet equally, you can see his front foot shaking a lot, while his back foot is fine...

will question.
I find it a bit hard when I bend my knees and then I have to lead with the hip, still distributing same weight on both legs.
do you have any tip regarding this please ?
thanks in advance
