@hoplite46 best way to destroy your valves? really? i didn't know going on full throttle really put any pressure on the valves ..all they do is just open in and out faster...I could see how going on Wide open throttle could put a lot of tension on the chain or master link ..but not the motor itself.

I am thinking from upgrading from a 99 CBR 600 to an 09 ZX10r. I have 10000km under my belt. Do you think its too much power? Please note that old 600s do not have the power of a modern 600.

That speedo's riding pretty high for first gear..my R1 only goes up to about 105 or so. You have a sprocket on there bud?

That was not wide open throttle. Nowhere near it. If you went WOT without feathering the clutch on even a 600 you will loop...

I went from a Hyosung 125 to a ZXR 750 L1. Never had a problem. Insurance is still cheap enough (I'm only 23) cause it's an "old" bike. £400 pa.

Goes like split shit and has no problems what so ever.

My 2008 Ninja ZX-10R will do the same when it was bone stock, and the air cleaner was plugged up BIG time (just bought it and was waiting on new K&N). Funny, I was just telling a guy I work with (Yamaha FZ1) about what 1st gear can do...he said BS! Who's laughing now bitch!

i got a 06 zx10 for my first bike and i love it. learned on a 03 cbr 954. No complaints or mishaps thus far.

The 2008 zx-10r is the best bike I have ridden. I've rode the

r1, gsx-r 1000, gsx-r 750, r6. This bike has the best power and handles like a champ. I would recommend it to any rider upgrading from a 600 or just looking for another bike. You will not regret it.

i know a guy coming from a 125 went to a R1 but due to his age he had to cripple the bike to 34HP

i think it will be perfectly fine, but u should always keep in mind how much F...more power you have under your ass

for instance i dont think it was a mistake to start with a 600 bike

Agreed, 100+mph is pretty standard these days for 1000's. Even a 600 will do 80+ in first. This guy has not yet unleashed its full beast it would seem !

I tested this on a 04 as well. Its 175kph (108.7mph) pinging off rev limiter hard on the throttle. I brought it up there slower (for a controlled test) and it stopped and hovered at about 171-173kph that is (106-108MPH) I held it there for about 2 secconds to get an accurate #. My sprockets were factory at the time. Then 207kph(128.6mph) in 2nd gear, pinging off rev limiter. I just had to know haha! Not to good 4 tha motor :) redline is 13000sebze835 I was at revlimiter a little beyond that.
