Giygas is pronounced 'Geegus' , in order to more directly relate it to the original name "Giyig" pronounced "Geeyig" as well as the name Giegue from EB-0, (which was an official translation) pronounced "Geeg".

@nerd2max its Giegue (pronounced Guy-gee) and he is also extended family to Ninten through extended family and adoption. Maria (george's wife and Nintens great grandma) took care of Gyiyg (pronounced Gee-ih-eeg; baby Giygas) as if he were her son. He invades the earth in Mother 1, and is defeated by Ninten(do) when he sings the lulaby that Maria sang to him, then becomes Giygas through the devil's machine, which slowly and painfully ruins his mind, then he invades earth again and is defeated.
