  • This and Magnolia Cruise's best performances.

  • 1:10 "fucking shit" ! haha

  • I dont get it, why does he start screamin when the pump drips?

  • My older brother was my hero and my best friend. He was planning to become a doctor and dropped out of college, enlisted and served in Viet Nam as a chopper medic.

He wrote often and described things that no one, especially teen age kids, should have to see.

He came home twice, once on leave and the next time in a coffin.

  • Damn scene with the father just made me cry....again!

  • That scene with his dad gets me every time... ;(

  • PEEEEENIS!!! ... BIG FUCKING ERECT PENIS MOM!

  • "FUCKING SHIT!" out of nowhere that random screaming of his was hilarious!

  • this along with interview with the vamp is tommy boy's best acting work !

  • @smoothcriminal28 I think it's Born on the Fourth of July, Magnolia, Collateral, A Few Good Men, and Jerry Maguire.

  • sad page of the american history, when soldiers came back at home, they've been insulted, what frekin shame.....probably that war was wrong, but you have to support your soldiers anyway...........G_D bless all those guys.....G_D bless AMERICA

  • Happy birthday Ron Kovic :) ..happy 4th of July everyone :) ..god bless

  • What about the family fight scene? you know when Ron Kovic comes back home drunk.

  • Boy was that Ron Kovic I'll Tempered.

  • Im a 22 year old guy and the part with Kovic returning home made me tear up.

  • @curak76

Yeah me too....the part where he meets his family again and when his father takes him into the house and they have that quiet moment together....that for me was the most moving part of the film...I'll admit that it shredded me....and still does!

  • they ARE animals according to henry kissinger. look up the quote

  • Oh man. Veterans hospitals are probably the worst in the whole nation. Veterans are not given the respect they deserve. Instead they're treated like expendable animals.

  • @juliabohemian Well they certainly are in Australia after an artical I read in the paper. A WWII vet who was past walking was attacked by a plague of mice and they ate at his ears and toes. If the home did their job it would never have happened. Your comment is so true.

  • Great performance by Cruise....shoiuld have won the Oscar......shame he didn't.

  • this is the time where "the golden boy" really deserved the oscar... great performance, great movie

  • @km4n87 He was definitely my second choice to win the Oscar. If Daniel Day-Lewis got screwed by the Academy that year, I would have given it to Tom Cruise.

  • I don't know why the thumbs down, you're exactly right

  • Your silly!

  • A savage film to watch. Utterly compelling. Stone is not afraid to show America to itself in a way that it will never forget.

  • a really great movie...really touching.

A lot of vets probably went thru the same ordeal coming back home after the war...

  • awesome scene

  • Tom Cruise ranks amongst one of the greatest method actors of all time; but I dislike Oliver Stone as a filmmaker. I personally think his films are too politically impulsive, lack artistic merit and drown within a swamp of liberal ideology. Tom Cruise however delivered one of the best performances of his carrier though.

  • ive been looking everywhere for the prom scene in this film with moonriver. i wonder who sings that version

  • I've been lookin' for that prom scene, too. Let me know if you come across it. That was one of the best scenes in the movie.

  • ok i think i got that prom scene too on here see if thats the one

  • The actor Corky Ford who played Washington was also in Platoon as the ill fated Manny. And the Doctor is none other than Actor MArk Moses who played the Green Lt. in Platoon

  • Ha! You're right, I didn't even notice. And of course Willem Dafoe plays Ronny's crippled post-war buddy and Tom Berenger plays the marine recruiter for the high school.

  • For those that wer there -god protect -as alwys got shit for seving their country and allies -am with you all the way !-seen it !-gus-god bless all that have been there !-and god help em !-as no one understands what they went through anyway -NOBODY !!!!!!!!!!!

  • this and the elephant man are the best i've seen in my whole life

  • He's a great actor, I don't care about what people about his scientology and the "couch incident". This scene alone derserves an oscar!

  • 3:53-3:56

He sounds like Scrat the Squirrel in ICE AGE!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON KOVIC !!!

  • Interesting that Ron needs his dad to help him transfer from the car (a 1966 Plymouth Valiant). I have been friends with a paraplegic for more than 20 years and during their rehab, they usually do enough exercise to lift themselves.

  • ENDUT HOCH HECH

  • The Dept. of VA is still limited today by Bush's escapades over seas. The cut backs are real. Veterans are being denied honest mental health. When you have more veterans committing suicide in a month then soldier being killed on the front you know you have a problem.

  • Awesome. Thanks for the upload. I'd love it if I could find a full movie upload somewhere on youtube.
