  • Love me some female cello players :)

  • Jeff Lynne is not recognised for his talents....go to facebook we are trying to get a petition going to get him inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame..so come all you fans get behind us on this.

  • chuck norris

    xD

  • The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is null and void until they put these guys in it

  • @philpbarnes

The sad thing is that ELO tops the list of any underrated band in any genre.

  • 1 word .......... BRILLIANT !!!

  • Oath to that, bloody brilliant, that intro is the best ever made!!! Don't care what anyone says, I tried to leant it on guitar, but it's too hard, especially seeing I've got an acoustic

  • THAT, kiddies, is how to do it. Class dismissed.

  • "Hello, I'm a classical musician - I play the cello- and I'm working together with a band in which every individual is playing a much more difficult part than me. I still need sheet music though..."

" 'Sup, the name's Jeff. I rock 'cause I want to."

  • This has got to be the BEST live performance of "Roll Over Beethoven" - EVER. It's so damn tight and zappin' in the groove. Jeff's lead vocals and guitar riffs suck the breath out of me. Pardon, while I reach down on the floor and pick up my jaw !

  • @Fritzoid64 - Geeeee-tarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Yeah!!! :)

  • Rock and roll...how it's supposed to be. Very nice people!

  • ELO, Y U SO UNDERRATED?

  • I see that there are 4 people who dislike this video or music so far. Well those 4 don't know jack squat! I believe Mr. Beetnoven would have been proud! Thanks for sharing the video with us. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

  • run run rudolph santa claus is coming to town

  • Jeff definitely has one of the best voices in rock n roll. He's overlooked because people often don't appreciate the best until it's gone. That voice is unique and instantly recognised. He rocks! And that guitar playing is fab!

  • Well, Hell ! This IS Rock 'N' Roll!

  • super!!! ...moje dawne i dzisiejsze klimaty ;-)

  • someone ever noticed that the Ladies playing cello, always look out brilliant? :-)) Tried to play cello myself and all the cats and dogs in

the neighbourhood are following me, there must be another secret which I did not discovered :-) Maybe it depends on my howling voice, who knows...

    Nevertheless...this is brilliant!

  • @Amdaro =D

  • Excellent!!!!!

  • Amazing guitar work at introduction, it was like climax in a few seconds.

  • And what could be better than listening to Jeff and Richard play while watching Rosie dance?

  • @65metal you forgot the beer xD

    but yeah, you're right

  • Not enough ticket sales? Damn. Only one explanation and I do hope Mr Lynne realizes this: Advertising. Or rather the lack thereof. I had no clue this tour was on. Bummer man. Hope they fired their promo people, sheesh!

  • What else can you say except that Jeff Lynne is awesome.

  • ELO passed over for the HOF again. That slap in the face really upsets me.

  • awesome guitar work introduction

  • Beautiful live version; showcases how tight Jeff is on his Telecaster, really just beautiful old-school rocking. The very datable cellists and the cute BU singer don't hurt either.

But, seriously, Jeff and the boys just show the kind of stuff they were laying down in those days. No screwing around, two interlocked Studer 800-series analog machines and some fine studios and the rest is them and good songs.

  • Wow, a brilliant song writer and producer who was also a great musician.

Shit, you don't get that anymore!

  • Wow, a brilliant song writer and producer who was also a great musician.

Shit, you don't get that anymore!

  • Awesome song, reminds me of Back to the Future . . .

  • I'd LOVE to see Jeff & the band tour again even though they lost 2 members of the group .

  • el mejor grupo de rock sinfonico

  • They' re simply the BEST!... Nothing else to say...

  • Thanks for posting a great performance. Can't get enough of Jeff Lynne and ELO. If these guys aren't in it, it isn't a REAL HOF!!! Have to poke fun at his crazy hair, though, watching to see if a bird flies out of it somewhere. Rock on, Jeff and ELO!!!!

p.s. Anyone know what year this was? I also didn't ever hear of the zoom tour.

  • @65metal 2001, you can buy/download the "Zoom live tour" dvd

  • I love electric light orchestra sooo mutch!! it´s soo badly they had split up again. :'(

  • Just a little bit obsessed with this one at the moment. Good...no, GREAT stuff! :)

  • Does anyone know how to keep earwigs out of the house!!! we,ve been infested with the damn things this summer, ran out of insect repellent blocked up front door back door and windows? any suggestions,

  • LEUTE....????? LEBT IHR NOCH....jetzt doch wieder, oder?

  • Two people are sad, lonely people who don't know how to Rock n' Roll!! God Bless Electric Light Orchestra!! =-D

  • I remember hearing the studio version of this when I was young, and although familiar with both Chuck Berry and Beethoven, I still thought, "Holy shit!"

  • Alucinante. Después de oir esto ya no concibo la canción sin los aportes sinfónicos que le da la ELO. La introducción es genial. Unos genios es lo que son.

  • SENSATIONAL!!!!! FANTÁSTIC!!!!!.

    HUGS,

    ROSANGELA D'ORO

  • I love this band but the performance seems lackluster. This is a rocking song everybody seems to be afraid to get into it. Don't upstage Jeff.

  • @zeevon9 I seriously doubt that being upstaged ever bothered Jeff.

  • @TiizO67 Check out even more Richard Tandy awesomeness in the "Ma-Ma-Ma Belle" footage from this same concert. :-)

  • @no1elofaniknow ... AND the "Evil Woman" footage, it's even better! ... and you're welcome, TiizO67. :-)

  • At 4:47 the guy to right of the screen is like, "whoa this guy really rocks"

  • I LOVE THIS MAN

  • wow

  • This DVD rocks EXTREMELY in surround sound! :-D

  • I had tickets for the Toronto show & was SOOOO disappointed the tour didn't happen..amazing Live

  • I did a little bit of research & to my surprise jeff lynne isn't on the rolling stones 100 greatest voices of all time...that is just bullshit..jeff lynne has one of the best voices i'll ever hear & I know alot of people who agree with me ....it's just not right....alot of people on that list don't even compare to jeff....

  • @dannyharrison09 You said it.

  • @dannyharrison09 I wholeheartedly agree with you! Unfortunately, anything that has to do with Rolling Stone has to get by Jann Wenner first, and Jann Wenner hates Jeff Lynne (I don't know why). Those lists are a popularity contest anyways and have nothing to do with actual talent, and they don't hold much weight with REAL music fans.

  • @dannyharrison09

ELO isn't even mentioned anywhere on the rolling stone.

  • @omglolwtfmudkips Yeah I know...it's obvious they don't know great music that still shapes our generation today....E.l.o & Jeff are an inspiration to many bands so you do the math..!! all the best :-)

  • @dannyharrison09 Puh. Faggots.

  • @dannyharrison09 BRING BACK ELO! THE WORLD NEEDS *MUSIC*!

  • What the hell? Is that Brian Johnson in the background playing guitar? 0:10

  • @200kphable No, it's Mark Mann.

  • @200kphable lol

  • Jeff turns on fully. very very good.i have this dvd /cd

  • Jeff turns on fully. very very good

  • Rosie is certainly one hot woman.

  • Guess this video kinda answers the question "Can Jeff Pay lead." I say Fuck yea."

  • Thats 200% ROCK ´N´ ROLL!!!!!

  • Great sound as always when it come's to Jeff and the band...one of my all time favorite bands.

  • These guys can still rock the house..... I have albums of there's...yes I said albums..lol...but the cd's sound better....one of the best band's ever.

  • Absolutely wonderful. Thanks so much for posting this. 30 years on from 'Time', Jeff sounds and plays better than ever.

  • 00:22..."and God said 'Let there be ROCK', and there WAS ROCK. God HEARD the ROCK....and it was GOOD"

  • Damn, this fuckin' ROCKS! I don't care what anyone says--------This fuckin' ROCKS (Just like it ever did! And I've listened to it since they first did it!). That's right! I'm an old fuck-----and I say THIS FUCKIN' ROCKS!

  • @Chevaldelune She's gorgeous! I for one don't know why there isn't more classical strings in rock and roll. Seems a natural fit to me.

  • roll over bethoven

  • Ive been learning this song for a good 3 hours now and was having trouble getting the pulloffs to sound right..

So i looked this up and...

If i ever become half as good as any one of those people i would die

  • ELO please tour soon but only if Jeff Lynne is with them.

  • @reolin777 I think Jeff Lynne owns the rights to the name of the band, so if they are going to appear someplace as ELO, he will be there. I know you made your comment 3 months ago, I have arthritis, sorry.

  • Hell of a solo - E.L.o were - ARE Amazing

  • 10,000 years from now, some aliens are going to be looking at this and they will say "HOLY CRAP! THAT DUDE IS SMOKIN!!!!!!"

  • 0:23 Eat your heart out, Mr Berry!

  • Damn! I've listen to this a hundred times! All I can say is---------------DAMN!

If I can live long enough to make a fender sound half as good as this, I will die F**KIN HAPPY!!!!!

  • SMOKIN! HOT (You too, Rosie!)

  • @Chevaldelune Is that Peggy Baldwin?

  • Man o Man can Jeff fuckin light up that Telecaster !!!! Good Grief !

  • @vicsade2003 Fuckin'-A! I am just now learning electric guitar (at 59 y/o!) and now I want a telecaster!

  • Talk about being blown away! What a fantastic performance! In an age when we have geriatric rock 'legends' muddling their way through half hearted renditions of their money makers, here we see an under appreciated talent giving a definitive example of what a rock performance should be. Get back on tour Jeff!

  • @RadaMcLaren32C I agree with you. Would've been tough carrying on at that time knowing your best friend was no longer around.

  • Although this is a great performance, it is missing one very important thing. Jeff's famous Gibson Les Paul Goldtop! The guitar Jeff's playing here doesn't quite have that *crunch* that the Goldtop has! But in one interview Jeff gave around this time, he stated that 15 years of having the very *heavy* Goldtop strapped over his shoulder, eventually led to him having back problems. So I can understand why he's playing a lighter electric guitar now.

  • Richard "Magic Fingers" Tandy just makes it look so effortless!

  • Great to see Jeff's two young daughter's really enjoying the show at around the 4:42 mark! (Their backs are to the camera.)

  • I'm sorry, but I have to say it.....FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!! I saw them in 1978. WOW! What memories!!! Thank you! & thank you Jeff! THIS.......is Rock 'n Roll!!

  • I would love to see ELO in concert! Bring back this great music! This song is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C! Real ROCK n' ROLL!!! :-)

  • Great!Come on Jeff,get on Tour.

  • This song always fires my blood! (Sorry about my englis... I'm from Hungary)

  • Very nice lady joining

  • Jeff is Awsome on guitar, so talented, thank God for Jeffs music in my life!

  • Man that was just!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Outstanding! I could not sit still, feet goin everywhere, bouncin on my chair and scarin the cat!!!

    Woooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    B¬D

The best performance and deffo the best version.

    Thanx for sharing

    5/5

  • @Hosenrauch Johnny B. Goode*, and Chuck Berry wrote both of them.

  • fantastic song. jeff is one hell off a guitarist

  • Señores, simplemente CHINGÓN!!!! PEACE AND LOVE FROM MÉXICO!!!!!

  • Chuck wrote the song, but really ELO was the only group suited to play the song :D

  • ROCKN´ROLL and a very nice lady, this song is a must for every band. Thanks to Chuck for this one also

  • Awesome. My favorite ELO song EVER!!!

  • That blond chick is Rosie Vela, there are lots of vids on youtube she's singin' in;)

  • Audience were stiffs, band were jumping.

  • Who is the blonde chick she is hot does anyone know if she has other vido work.

  • awesome!

  • I have this DVD...its too bad that, after this concert, they did'nt resume the tour. It has been dubbed, "The greatest tour that never happened" due to poor ticket sales. I f I knew they were touring then, I would have been first in line to buy tix!

  • @rudeger66 More like The greatest tour that no one knew about! The return of ''ELO'' was so low key that i heard about it 2 years after it happened! In my opinion he should have kicked off the tour in his native Birmingham where he would have had a packed house and better media coverage!

  • @ELONut It wud seem that the only coverage they had were the odd variety of celebrities that were in the audience that night. I spotted Eric Idle, Ed Begley Jr. and Lisa Kudrow in the audience lol

  • @rudeger66 Too true, but fair play, i dont see how Jeff Lynne could've carried on touring with the death of his good friend George Harrison :/

  • @RadaMcLaren32C If the tour not been cancelled, and Jeff had been on tour when GH died, I'm pretty sure Jeff would have cancelled or postponed some shows to give himself time to grieve. I know I would not have been able to perform if my best friend had just died. But GH's death was not the reason for the cancellation of the Zoom Tour.

  • @rudeger66 Me too buddy! I saw them dentonate this song at Henry Leavitt Arena in Wichita, KS opening for Edgar Winter in March 1974. I'd love to see Chuck Berry on stage with them rocking the lights out with this monster version of one of his MANY fantatstic rock and roll songs. Long live Chuck Berry! LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!

  • @kurtizzyflush Dude....Saw EW (with Rick Derringer) back in 69! One of THE best shows I've ever seen (and I've seen 100's!!!)

  • exelent

  • The best rock riffs ever Chuck Berry must be so proud of Jeff & Co.

  • @duke3455 I doubt Chuck Berry would be proud of ELO doing a better job on this song that he did. When Elvis died that put a big smile on Chuck Berry's face. That made him happy that Elvis died.

  • @garycooper1000 Because Elvis called the music he based on Chuck's stuff Rock and Roll as well as those abominations of songs that started the whole romantic/broken heart/babe i miss ur wetness songs? As with every genre... The black man creates, the white man makes it popular to eventually destroy it.
