My original comment here was to point out the fact that, in the past, the CIA has acted any way BUT scrupulous. Chile 1973, Guatemala 1954, Iran 1953, Nicaragua in the 80s etc etc. The U.S. is not a force for democracy in the world. Since WW2 it has been a force for instability, insurrection, and disruption of the democratic process. It is, essentially, a force for American corporations acting internationally. Read William Blum if you're up to a challenge.
