2 Red lights flashing on my xbox 360

i have figured out the problem (i think) i took apart my hole xbox (elite) and i discover that it was missing a bit if not more it was a black circle with red wires was miss i am not sure what it dose but the xbox has been doing this even sice we got it back from microsoft...... i belive this is the problem >:( basterds >:(

My son’s does this also, did not do it before I sent it in to be fixed, for the “insert disk” issue. They denied the warranty saying I tampered with it (it is my 5 year old sons, don’t think he modified it) and sent it back. Now when we try to turn it on it does the same thing and nothing works. They kept telling me it is overheating, but that is not the code for overheating, then it must be my connection, but again, not the right code according to their website. Any ideas?

hi its a problem wioth the nand flash and south brige you will need to do a reflow and jtag the xbox to restore the flash the light basically mean its in manafackturing mode because the no data for the xbox to read

I had the same problem and I fixed it, all you have to do is clean your fans in your xbox, trust me I fixed it yesterday and I was playing all day today and it didnt turn on those 2 rings. also make sure you cool it wit a fan on the bottom side where theres a lot of holes.

hahahaha i got the same problem...i tried to fix my xbox from overheating and when i put it back 2getha i get 2 rings.i clean off all the compound or 'thermal paste' off.....i didnt have any...is there MEANT to be thermal paste or what.also when i asked the guy at the hardware store for thermal paste he looked at me like i was retarted...

all u should do is open up the casing, vacuum or are blast all the dust out and then lever the casing off and i works a treat, i also got an external fan just to keep it ice cold :) have fun gaming problem free.

It's always best just to just send your xbox in, because you might just get a new one. it might take a while to get it back in but if you do it immediately itll be quicker to send it in then take forever to figure out whats wrong. Besides, you get a month of free XBOXLive with your returned Xbox.

yes, i tried it and it doesn't work! Well, it kinda worked, it let me play two matches of call of duty before it stopped working again, the fans remained loud the whole time and it was blowing out cool air! It makes no sense! It says it's overheating but it's not! The entire motherboard is cool to the touch. I think the heat sensor is jammed on "overheating mode" or something because it can't be anything else!

No, I got a new xbox yesterday too. That's the first thing I did. I took the new power brick and connected it to my old 360, it still does the same thing! As soon as it powers up, the fans slowly start to speed up until it gets as loud as a hair dryer and the red lights appear and it turns off! I did the same thing with it taken apart to see where it overheats, but the entire motherboard is cold! This is very annoying because no one knows how to fix it!

I fixed it!!! You basically have to do the same "x-clamp fix" if you get the 3 red rings, thats what I did at first but it didn't work because I didn't put enough thermal compound. I did it again today and it works perfectly! I basically came out with the conclusion that whenever you get any kind of red light pattern, it will always point at those damn x-clamps fucking up the motherboard when it gets hot!

1. This video is just the "red n blue" LED mod for xbox 360. Not a red ring of death.

2. You Have 4. That means somthings wrong with the AV or HDMI cable. Your lights are probably worn out. Mostly with 2 controllers having 2 lights always on.

Thats not the "red ring of death", just unplug your xbox 360, then plug it back it..and make sure all wires are fully connected..I had the same problem..but then it got fixed.. ;)
