I don't think my pupils would be able to focus on the words to poem w/o singing along to song. I know I can't! Good try!

Using music to highlight the mood is a good idea.
Using music with lyrics to illustrate a poem is a bad idea: The two sets of words fight for your attention aqnd both lose out.
