The lyrics are great, because between his lines you understand why Orane is gone. So it's a strange feeling I get listening to it -- moved by the expression of desperation and loss, moved by the music itself, but thinking about this woman of the song, her escape from this man who can't understand why she doesn't stay to be beaten bloody - her own father would have done  the same...packed with irony

I'd gotten turned onto the band just a few weeks before we lucked into the movie, when a review in Punch Magazine of 'Mlah' described them as being "like a cross between The Pogues and Gypsy Kings"
