lol, i just threw this thing in the trash cuz it wasn't working for me and i saw this just a minute after i was like WTFF. i went to pick it up again. lucky it was only the newspaper in the trash.

TuneLink Auto is the best ry it i tried everything but off course you can just use it with iPhone or android it work with an app to change the setting n the song
You can also find "Raptor Installation Accessories" version of this chinese mass-produced MP3 FM Modulator in most local AutoZone stores, just look the car audio section of the store. They sell for about 17 bucks or so... Works good for what it is and it sure beats the hell out of local radio stations. Also, some of the newer versions of this device will correctly read and play even fully loaded 8 gig thumbdrives and SD cards.
@farztorres The reason is the same why pple installed tape & CD decks. The ability to listen to the music of your choosing. Even is the USA there are area devoid of radio broadcasts to receive for whatever reasons.
Walmart sells a similar device, now that I seen your video, I now know what to expect. Thanks for making & posting your video. I miss the simplicity of radios, tape deck, and CD players. large controls & displays make using them while on the road safer.
@husnainanwaar1992 I don't know how to set the list of songs or enable any kind of playlist. When I used the device with a SD card I just scrolled through the songs in the order it found them (I think usually by the files' Modified Date, but can't be 100% certain).
@miltonbra Yes. The device comes with a special cord which has 1/16" plug (aka Micro-Plug, 2.5mm) on one side and a 1/8" plug (aka Mini-Plug, 3.5mm) for your Ipod, or practically any other mp3 player, on the other side. It is a very short cord.
@rodocruz92 You are correct, but the description of the product on various websites and the packaging states that it is a "fm modulator". I wanted to keep it consistent for the people looking for a tutorial of this device.
@ashley260590 It plays through your car radio speakers. You have to match the station on your radio to the same one you've dialed in on the device. The transmitter will then transmit the audio signal to your radio.
With mine i realized diff cars create diff out comes my sister has a honda accord it works GREAT in her car in my dads Jeep it works only in the front speakers but still good sound and in our kia sedona it is full of static and very very VERY quiet the static plays louder than the songs
@tophlovr Interesting discovery. Thanks for sharing this bit of information. Hopefully it will help someone decide if this device will work for them...for the record I have a 2000 Honda Civic.
is this so unstable as it looks like? I mean, i went to the chinese from my neighborhood and i touched it and that was the sensation (even it's smaller than I've thought). Anyway, I was on my way to buy it, but a guy next to me say not to buy it, the two he bought last around a week, no more. Definitively i didn't buy, but i need one of these.
@aRVaRiLLoR Mine is still working exactly the same as the day I got it. As I've said before YMMV...the quality control on these devices isn't very good.
@MusicMixology Yeah, I know...its the luck of the draw with this gadget. As I've stated previously, the factory quality control of this device isn't the best.
be careful when you buy these. Some just suck, some dont work. most give static, and some transmit in mono. Its eaiser to just get a cassette adapter if you dont mind the wire, you wont have to worry about interference. A wired fm modulator also might give minor static. Basically an eaisly replaceable cassette adapter is best if you dont want a new headunit. If you buy one from brookstone it will probably be better than 5 dollars buy it now ebay
@paintballgundown8 As I've stated before, YMMV. Also, in my situation, I can't use a cassette adapter for my bog-standard Honda in-dash CD/receiver head unit.

Of course a new headunit is best but having a few hundred burning a hole in your pocket must be nice. there are some nice 15 dollar modulators that intercept your antenna and transmit from a 3.5mm jack to a specific frequency of which your radio picks up and plays through your stereo. its more involved but is less risky than a wireless fm transmitter, im thinking of getting a bluetooth to fm transmitter to see if wireless quality is the same
I went through 3 of these things, kept breaking for no reason. Too much radio static. I bought a Clarion deck with USB, CD/CD MP3 and AUX input jack. Works much better for me.
As I've already commented to mandoster329, yes you can. My device came with a non-standard audio cord, that was 1/8" on one side and 1/16" (I believe) on the other. It was approx. 1 ft. in length.
I have most of my songs stored on my ipod touch. Can I plug it in via audio slot and play that way and will the quality be as good as if from an sd card?
Yes, it will play. In my case the audio quality was a little better using an external mp3 player, but it all depends on the fm modulator/transmitter you bought. The quality control at the factory where these units are made isn't great--YMMV.
I have the exact same FM transmitter, and I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem: when I connect any MP3-player to the headphone port, I get this annoying ratling noise, and I can not hear any music. This happens at every volume setting, and the noise is present even when the music is not playing. It just starts whenever I plug the cable into a device.
USB-drives and SD-cards work fine though...
Has anyone else had this problem with this FM transmitter?
This transmitter is cheap in price. Its only 5 dollars on ebay with shipping included. I tried it out but did not like it in the car as compared to the quality of the cassette deck. If I increase the volume to the maximum, it highly distorts. But when I keep it at low volume, i have to turn up the volume in the car and that creates noise.
Its a great idea and the multitude of features are great but if they would only increase the quality of the transmitter + price.
@hartex23 yes. that's one reason why i like this model...its not limited to a small number of channels. you can tune it to whatever fm channel is best for you in the area you live in.
i have brought the cf1315 one and can someone tell me how to work the remote because it doesent seem to respond even if i press any of the buttons, help quick!!
great little gadget those things r you can store loads of songs on a 8gb card or use multiple cards instead of filling your car with CD s. great and $9 off of ebay
pls help?!?!..I got one today...whn i plug in my usb its pretty clear..when I plug in my ipod touch (with that other little input it comes with)..theres static and it cuts out..can u inbox me if you know the problem?
Occassionally I get static as well, usually due to nearby broadcast towers. If there's a lot of static, my first suggestion is to try a different channel. If that doesn't work open up the unit by unscrewing the end that you plug in **carefully** and re-seat all of the parts (especially the fuse). A friend bought 1 of these and had the same issue. This didn't solve the problem completely, but lessened the static. Its just quality control issues--some are better than others.
this thing is cool! would you mind youtube messageing me with the details? model number, possible ebay link etc? the stuff i would need to get myself one... thanks alot!!
