Yes i had a 75W bulb in it. I got an email a couple days ago from a friend who melted his projector. I stress to you if you put higher watt bulbs in iyou have to put a better fan in it. I modified mine it took about 30 min some zip ties and a 4 inch computer fan and it stays really cool and i have a nice picture.
isnt the power supply only 60 watt? that's just what i've hear. is the projector still working fine? i want to get one and plan to upgrade to a 50w bulb. would the 75 be that much better?
I wouldn't go over 50 watts...the power supply gets extremely hot, too hot to touch even. I've been using 50 watt bulb ok without melting my projector, but man, that power supply box thingie gets really really hot.
there are some nice LED bulbs that would fit in there to replace the stock one, but i've also heard that if the bulb doesn't draw enough power, the unit wont even turn on because it thinks something is wrong. but that would be awesome if i could retro fit an led into it that would be extremely bright and last forever without drawing hardly any juice
Someone posted to my Torpedo Review that you can get the Torpedo at JCPenny's only online for $99. I want to know more about the bulbs too since I've been doing reviews on that, but can't find any decent bulbs anywhere!!!!
I ordered a 75 watt bulb for mine. A 75 watt burns alot hotter than the 50 i had in it but i modified my projector and put a huge computer fan in it so it stays pretty cool. The picture quality is better so its worth it.
Excellent job! I'll be doing the same shortly. 50W super birght eh? how much did that run you and do you have a link for purchase? I'd love to get my hands on a 50 or 60 watt.
i just used a bright white paint on the wall with black ribbon tacked around it. The bulb is a Phillips 50W Super Bright I bought online. I cant beleive the awesome pic i have with lights on or off.
how to u reset the picture to default i have lost my manual plz let me know asap

We used Killz primer for our screen and it works great, and it won't mold, lol.

Any comments as to what a good replacement fan would be in order to go to a higher watt bulb?
Looks like the stock one is a 3 pin CPU fan.

In this month's coupon booklet to BJ's Wholesale, it will be $99.99 with the coupon...
I might pick one up for that price; it isn't too bad.

Did you mount it on the ceiling, or is it sitting on the ground?
