And that point system or whatever is a bad idea because the best characters in the game don't necessarily make the best teams. Synergy is unpredictable.

I enjoy watching a good match, but you can tell that there's a large amount of bias in the commentators reactions and speech. If you're going to take on the job of the commentator people, keep your bias at the door. Tokido fought well for having an entire room against him. And Wong did well hunting out that phoenix.
@urmq I guess the one you mention is Phoenix, because Phoenix, when she's killed, can revive and turn into Dark Phoenix if you have 5 meters. And Dark Phoenix + Level 3 X-Factor can kill all 3 characters in a matter of second. Player can easily comeback with her alone since she does so MUCH damage (even chip). Making her a salty character.
There are many ways of fighting against Phoenix but it's kinda hard to execute if you're not good at the game enough. So most people hate her.
@urmq Also, Wolverine is wicked as you can see how Justin dominate Tokido's whole team with only him. In the high level play, if Wolverine touches you, it's pretty much means death for your character. As for Sentinel, people just hate him, I guess. LOL

@urmq I guess the one you mention is Phoenix, because Phoenix, when she's killed, can revive and turn into Dark Phoenix if you have 5 meters. And Dark Phoenix + Level 3 X-Factor can kill all 3 characters in a matter of second. Player can easily comeback with her alone since she does so MUCH damage (even chip). Making her a salty character.
There are many ways of fighting against Phoenix but it's kinda hard to execute if you're not good at the game enough. So most people hate her.

@urmq Also, Wolverine is wicked as you can see how Justin dominate Tokido's whole team with only him. In the high level play, if Wolverine touches you, it's pretty much means death for your character. As for Sentinel, people just hate him, I guess. LOL

Looking at all the matches together Phoenix had no more impact than any other character. Wong's Wolverine had more impact in the early rounds.

I mean come on you can't honestly say that as a US player in Yipe's position you would be able to maintain non-bias commentary while watching Tokido, a japanese player, about to be the first to win a marvel tournament on american soil in a game america has been so dominant in and Yipes as a mvc2 god did not want to see end and for that tournament it did.

@bcrusher3 Phoenix in the back is broken if she has level 3 xf....I disagree with with DP and keep away options first off DP can only play keep away for so long her health drains, if she keeps on healing field she has to come to you....at that point Justin had ammy and invisible tron assist.....ammy has a good keep away hyper, a slow down, and a protective tron since DP has to rush and get the kill and stay on you to get health back.....Like I said Justin played stupid DP wasnt the problem

@natosthan no DP wasnt the problem but it still completely changes how the match plays out and when a character makes you play the game that differently in order to win its a sign that the character is a game changer and op lol. Also, every time justin supers if dp is in the air she can cancel whatever she's doing into her flaming bird super which has a ton of invincibility. Although yes admittedly she is less scary without xfactor cause of health drain but without blocking mixup you lose.

I just said that throughout the marvel series America has dominated the game and uh if you go by EVO results we still dominate cause there were no foreign players in top 16! Although I would say that Daigo winning with Yun is not really anything special cause he could pretty much win with whatever character he chooses cause he's just that good at street fighter and Japan is admittedly better than us at that game so not quite as salty!

Ever seen the comment people make when Tokido and Daigo announced they will be playing MvC3 competitively? Or the comments before CEO? Also note that there were a combined total of what, 4 Japanese players in MvC3? Frieda, Mago, Tokido and Daigo vs some 1000+ players from America. Look, I'm not saying that they would dominate in this game, but rather they will put up a better fight than they did back in MvC2. This time, we actually have to give them credit for giving us a run for our money,

It'sa tournament setting where money is on the line, so you do what it takes to win. Besides.it's been known for years now that Tokido will always use the cheapest character in any game.

First off, should commentators take sides? And the answer is, there is no answer. Marvel isn't about, "Oh, the commentators are rooting for this guy and talking trash about the other." i loved Tokido's playing here and i seriously started cheering for him when i saw the bias against him in the commentator's speech, seriously what a 'salty' prick.
Justin killed Tokido's Phoenix time and again, you see Tokido expending meters as he needs them.
Tron's assist is hax too and no one complains on how Justin abuses it. Seriously in a match with skill this high(from both players) characters don't matter; every character is cheap in the hands of someone who knows how to use them.
