Does your truck have any other upgrades? Or just the exhaust? I just ordered this kit for my '06 access cab 2TR ... and if it comes out sounding anything like yours I'll be happy :)
Also, did you install with the clamps or did you have it welded together?
So you had to trim yours to fit a standard cab? Thats comforting... considering I have an access cab (13 inches longer wheelbase). How much did you have to trim off?
Im just going to clamp it at first. I'll get it welded soon after though. Might get some spray-on ceramic coating too... to prevent rust.
One more question... is that the tip that came with the kit? And is the tip welded on from the factory?
well the x-runner is an access cab....and yes, this exhaust is for an access cab. But as i said before, we had to cut it to fit. This particular one is for the 2.7 engine, they have one for the 4.0's as well
i have a 2005 2.7 with 18" rims and toyo proxies, and with the performance tires it handles 100x better than the stock tires and rims, and with the bigger rim and tire the truck all together looks better!
ya i did but i have an access cab 2x4 and got the one for the 2x4 its no big deal its only 1.5 ft shorter ill just cut and weld an extension to make it fit haha
dont have an intake just have the stock air box and took a 4" hole saw and made a few holes in it, cost me nothing to do so who know if it helps at all though
You gain low end power when you free up the exhaust flow (Less backpressure better power at lower rpms)( High backpressure gives you more high rpm power)As with a stock exhaust system......Ollie
really learn something new every day. i used to have a tc and had a 3 in header back and lost so much low end. so thats good to know that low end less back pressure thanks
thats a city truck, 2wd and low as hell.

This is the only mod..
I have it welded in one spot, because we cut it to fit my regular cab. The other one is clamped.
But, if you can...you should probably weld it, so you dont have worry about any leaks in the future.
The other clamp is holding up well though.

It was around 1 foot of piping..
Yes it is the tip...its pretty nice-looking actually...and its not welded on... you just put it over the exhaust and tighten the screw.

Is this normally for the X-Runner or generally a access cab.

Does your truck still have the stock 15" rims? If they ever to be changed do you think it might ruin the performance?
hoseman10 3 years ago
Yeah, I still have the stock wheels. But if you go bigger, the rims will probably weigh a lot more, so you might lose a little power.

No, Just exhaust
Chipz263 3 years ago
do you have anything else done with the exhaust or is this just it? and do you feel like you lost low end power by opening up the exhaust?

Wow, 3in? Thats why you lost power. You shouldn't go anything bigger than 2.5 unless your are boosted.
