  • That is Chuck Noris Welding

  • why didnt the fault trip the breaker :(

  • So where did this happen?

  • Amazing. I would have thought it would trip a line fuse .

  • it sounds like my shower...should i get it looked at???

  • i hate pollution..!!

  • damn women and their hair dryers!

  • What!

  • 00:18 Meat is finished

  • I hope they bought the extended warranty.

  • @KharnakRex bloody hell, that needs looking at, we dont get problems like this often in england [not on the news or in the papers anyway.]

  • haha, try to put it out with water before it explodes, see what happens

  • thats what happens when you miss hit your tee shot!

  • 60 Hz hum.

  • Well, it is safe to assume you aren't spraying that with water..

  • @ExpertOfSound Nothing can be done until power is cut. CO2, drychem, foam.... Electrical fires don't give a shit.

  • riot games server is burning WTF!

  • The Server of Riot-Games :O

  • @bashX so true

  • well at least the short cleared...

  • Josephine Joseph had to make Hercules leave because hercules was crapping himself

  • GIGGITY

  • that's sick

  • yoga!

  • the hysterical woman was probably the Fire Chief!!

  • why always in such videos u can hear some hysterical woman screaming in background? lol

  • All your base are belong to us :D

  • Uh huh huh uh huh huh huh That was cool yeah Fire FIre heh heh heh eh heh heh

  • @Xeper1979 This is fairly common. People confuse what is audible with what is written. The contributor tried to express their thoughts with what they thought would be amusing if it were spoken. Remember that some concepts are not easily translated from what is heard and what is written. It is likely that the contributor lacks the vocabulary needed to express their thoughts in an adequate manner.

  • Was just doing a beavis and butt head immitation may not have been to everyones Humor though

  • @Xeper1979 Thank you for clearing that up for me. Now that I think of it, I believe your contribution was rather amusing after all. Keep up the good work!

  • I'll try

  • good god do electrical fires scare the shit outta me.

  • Itachi: Phoenix Fire Jutsu!!!

    *stuff catches on fire*

    Sasuke: Chidori!!!!

    *epic explosion*

  • 0:28 Alien space shuttle approaching.

  • that was a rippa

  • chuck norris plugged in his xbox

  • This was a worst-case scenario folks. The primary lead-out wire broke loose and started to arc with everything it came in contact with, eating up hardware and wiring. The fuses could not protect from this kind of event and so the heat started to build in the transformer. The mineral oil's pressure built up inside the transformer to where the blowout plug at the top of the vessel let go, making the big cloud and fireball. The bang was the main lead-in fuse letting go when the transformer died.

  • All elements needed for a good show were there Petrolium-filled transfo and... electrical arc where it should'nt... Lol !!!

  • Wow that baad :)

  • lol that was funny.. good point.. i can see and hear the electricity.. nice vid. thanks

  • fireworks turned into horror

  • That was just Chuck Norris lighting a cigar.

  • WRONG!

  • dont fuck with me or ill blow ur fuckin house up lolz jus kiddin

  • 2007 eh

  • Oh oh, I guess this little show was kinda expensive. ;)

  • This was an oil transformer which looked like the controlling DC voltage failed which isused on the transformer temperature, the oil pressure, etc, and more importantly the the DC voltage feeding the SPAJ relay. If the DC was present, there would be a number of protective measures that would prevented this by tripping the circuit breaker

  • **No offence to video ownerr**

Hey man, look at this, ITS ON FIRE!

    QUICK GRAB THE CAMERA!

    Ok ok, im recording...

Should we unplug our computers and stuff?

i dont know, maby.... jeasus that sounds like death...

    (KABOOM!)

    OH HOT DAMN!

Anybody call the power company yet... or 911?...

  • Sounds like hypno-toad!

  • @TheFsb2009 ur an idiot...of course it's the oil that's burning what do you think ignited the oil???? huh????? big smart guy? ...........(electricity) lol lame...

  • @Acedog8 Идите нхауй, уважаемый.

  • @Acedog8 not really an idiot, the transformer was switched badly and that caused the ignition in the first place, the real explosion though after the cloud of co2 to kill the fire also isn't caused by the electricity, it's caused by the already existing fire that was not properly killed. and that reignited the oil inside.

  • @TheFsb2009 .. your fat.

  • @TheFsb2009 what a sucker...

  • This is why certain people shouldn't be allowed to re-wire their car's engine harness.

  • that what happens when i cook chef boyardee in my microwave

  • that's 1.21 gigawatts of back to the future

  • ahhh thats normal.... right?

  • typing fail on trees

  • and it was built next to treees?

  • dang that thing burst into flams

  • Woops, I think I left it hot.

  • that white stuff you see coming out of the transformers is oil{they use that instead of pcb's now} after they rupture. weenie roast time..

  • lmao is this on a golf course?

  • I think i remember where i left my soda now....

  • fuckin squirells again

  • umm yea when a substation goes you kinda not wanna be there

  • crap not the wait what is the fire i wana go play in it fufufufufuckckckckck

  • Oh la vache! O_O

  • humans are the best

  • Damn squirrel

  • awesome!

  • hehe future bomb ...

  • i orgasmed to this

it's so hot just think of how many people that died there

  • @Iamcola65 It's hot to think that ... er ... nobody died?

  • daaaaaaaaaaamnn

  • This is what happens if you spam in Modern Warfare 2.

  • tighten those wire nuts down a little more next time :)

  • umm seiffer641....I don't know of any fire department that would put water anywhere near a transformer when it's faulting. All of the stuff that you saw that looked like water was the askarel or whatever they're using in xformers these days.

  • stupid firemen, trying to put electric fire out with water... it makes hydrogen which as you can see explodes :D

  • @seifer641 I doubt the fireman were even near this thing during the video. You're probably seeing the fire suppression system activated and the explosion is a transformer or another component exploding. If they were putting water on this you would see one hell of an arc over to them and their equipment exploding into a fireball long before hydrogen became an issue. The firemen are likely letting this burn out and waiting for confirmation from the utility that it's safe to get near it.

  • @protonevent The liquid you see is the oil from the transformer tanks - it isboiling hot and was ignited by the arc once released from the tanks. The shotgun blast sound is a cutout or fuse opening under the worst possible conditions.

  • @fractureme great explanation

  • @fractureme @fractureme great explanation

what is fuse opening , i know it disconnect

    why it sound like shotgun

  • @omairgeforce: I don't know if it's still necessary, but the fuse opening is another term for the fuse blowing: a fuse for that kind of power is a very thick one, made out of special materials to prevent it from exploding when the wires inside of it burn through due to an overcurrent: In thise case an extreme amount of power had to be cut of: when the wires finally burn the fuse opens with an enormous bang.

  • @weeardguy

    Nice explanation dude

according to me , when the over current is flowed by the fuse , in a fraction of seconds in boils and melt and then vapourises ,

Metal turn into ashes or fumes in fraction of second "thats what it makes boom"

  • @omairgeforce Could very well be true. But I think that in this case the fuse was at extreme temparature when it finally cut the power, so when it blew, the housing just bursted, creating the bang.

But to be honest, this is something that probably doesn't fit an explanation ;) The conditions are so rare that you can't build equipment to it.

  • holy fuck!!!..Ride the lightning!

  • it appears you have some sort of short. some electrical tape should do it.

  • dang, I guess that shoving a quarter into that thing wasn't such a funny prank after all

  • kool

  • well there's your problem.

  • @1LitreofCola LOL u get that from Mythbusters?

  • @SanAndreasWars lol no, when I was in high school my friend used to say it all the time. and it kind of just stuck haha. He might have gotten it from Myth Busters tho.

  • mfffffff ewie smells weird lol that looks nuclear!!1

  • Holy lol.

  • thats a little problem they wont have power for months!!! but why didnt the fuse blow and the oil when it lit thats the best eletrical fault that i have ever seen its brill!!!

  • looks like its on a golf course

  • man you should have gottin closeer to it! LOL

  • oooooooooh thats fucked up........

  • Power Cut!

  • at the very end I can hear a radio, it seems like emergency services were already on the scene.

But they can't do much except keep people away, the power company has to turn that thing off.

  • what u got there is a exploding fuse but i don't get it was supposed to blow befor it got that bad hmm i think the power company is going to go affter the fuse manufactre for damages

  • Dont talk out of your arse. exploding fuse - bollocks. The explosions was the transformer oil igniting you idiot.

  • hey fyi if u make a stupid comment on someone elses comment that is mor than a week old is ignorance and u show it. no body is going to remember what the hell they said a week ago have some yt manners for god sake sheesh mate

  • @biggdaddy2001 1. Fuck you, chuzzwozzer is right

    2. We can comment whenever we feel like it, not because you decide it.

  • THERE'S your problem!!!!

  • Should have called 811 for a locate. By the explosion, looks like it was a 3 phase primary that blew. Because only the oil cooled transformers could cause something like this.

  • Wow, that was so awesome.

  • I bet that smells great

  • Just sooooooo satisfying to watch, and when the oil finally reaches boiling point the result is superb. The women think that it's the end of the world........even more gratifying.

Just what I pay my electricity bills for !

  • HOLT SHIT!!!!!!!

  • ohhh man that was fucking sweet!

  • that must of been one big transformer!

  • omg wow!

  • i have oil power O_O lol

  • hope no 1 was in there

  • hopefully it was a decepticon

  • hey, there's yer problem!

it makes me like steam power all the more now.

  • It wouldn't make a difference what method was used to generate the electricity - this was a transformer substation, not a generator plant. (The explosion would have been much more impressive!) Right at 0:14, you see a large burst of liquid, which is the oil inside the transformer which keeps it cool. Unfortunately, when it bursts out the side of a transformer in direct contact with a high voltage arc, it becomes flamethrower fuel!

  • oh, I was talking about the amount of power going through those things. If it wasnt such an insane amount, a failure would not have such catastrophic concsequences.

That, and they dont need to use flammable contents to cool the transformers.

  • Oil vaporizes at a higher temperature, conducts heat more efficiently, and far less conductive than water. Also, I'd like to think that somewhere, a group of engineers went "Well, we could use X, but Y would make for a frikkin AWESOME youtube video one day"

  • That doesn't even make sense.

  • ....yes it does.

  • hmmmm this makes me feel alot more safe, being a sparky and all ;)

  • that fixed it

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • wow :)

  • what is the fuel for this explosion

bit strange for a just electric explosion

  • Icouldn't explain why but There was some sort of power station near a place i lived in Massachusetts that had a transformer explode for some reason and it created a fireball and a large electrical fire similar to that.

  • It's probably various plastics, oils for the wiring and parts.

  • There is oil for lubrication and cooling

  • yeah but that does not cause THAT

  • Yes, it does.

  • prople screamin in da back..lol

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! At first I thought that was it. Then out of nowhere....BOOM...PUFF!

  • shocking footage

  • dam

  • dude that was so much power it made the camera lens go out of focus a couple times

  • Thats what happens when you take a leak on a live wire...

  • tax payer dollars, up in smoke

  • ARC!! same thing that happens when you drop a wrench on your car battery electrodes.

  • My PC does that when I turn it on.

  • HAHA! I laughed with your comment

  • Hahaha

  • @lozzyloveyou

    Lol

  • just a slight malfunction

  • HOLY FUCKIN SHIT

  • Someone just farted, I beleive...

    ((JK, that was huge. O_o))

  • Buzzity old thing, aren't it?

  • i would have paid real money to be there

  • Once the oil is burned away the flames go out.

  • THIS IS SAFE?

  • optimus!!!!! noooooooooooooo

  • Wehee. I read an article on this one. I think it was a 133KV primary sub (correct me if I'm wrong). The fuse for the switch control circuit was popped and when the station went down to earth (fault) it couldn't disconnect, becoming the 'Arc Welder from Hell'. The jet of liquid is the boiling insulating oil vapourising and blowing out the breather, a moment later reaching flash point. Some things you'd pay to watch!

  • that will surly toast your britches

  • gas or oil?

  • OMG!

  • The Voltage rating in there is like 200kv or more. Also it could have been an oil filled transformer. Oil is actually a great electrical insulator for the wire windings and iron core of a power transformer. It also is a coolant to carry the heat away from the electrical transformer windings and iron core to the cooling radiators on the side of the oil filled transformer. The heat is created by the flow of electrical current through the wire windings that are used to make a power transformer.

  • how does metal and copper explode like that?

  • To hell with that transformer..

  • Who was invited to this barbecue, in it?

  • WTF DID THEY DO !!!

  • It looks like they put water on the fire but it just caused the transformer to explode.

  • @coagat Nope. Wrong. It's merely the mineral oil in the transformer that gets airborne and ignited.

  • What happend here? tell me

  • in one word total meltdown...its basically a huge grease fire...

  • OK, who Cross Phased the wires.

  • Thats what happens when the oil inside the transformer boils.

  • Holy friggin crap thats insane!!!!

  • That's a friggin lot of amps!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, was it a short circuit?

  • wow... what explosded?
