I am a chronic sufferer since age of 19 and am now 53! If not for my wife & children I would not go through it. I have been on every type of med and had the periph nerve stimulation implant that was not affective. If one has found something that is helping them GREAT but I am here to tell you there is NO magic bullet for my chronic cluster headaches. I was a Cluster headache sufferer myself for 20 years but have been cluster free for 8 years now thanks to the grace of God. just to be clear DO NOT BLOCK any veins or artories - it enhances and prolongues the attack and the shadows stay with you for the rest of the day/night. I have suffered with them for over 33 years,phnebutol supositories, morphine,lot's of Jack Herer weed and a neuro stimulator are the only things that have worked up to 70%....I have beaten my head against the wall, cried,screamed in agony etc etc... the CH stole my life. I would not wish them on my worst enemy. they are not called suicide headaches for nothing.
I'm a one of very few female sufferers, had these things for 23 years, most of my life, and the most important thing I've learned is to work at staying calm when faced with an attack. It takes a LOT of mental strength and practice but if you can learn some breathing exercises and control your panic as much as possible, and it is possible, your headaches won't last as long and you will gain some control. I know how serious this sh*t is, it's taken me years to realize the effectiveness of calm.
@natalieb73 YES. Staying calm works, even at aborting the attacks. Staying calm takes a tremendous effort as you well know. Somethimes you think hey if I do this (press/rub/stroke here) then I can abort. Next time: nothing. But I agree calm works. Also: keep really strong coffee without sugar in the fridge and next to your bed. Works fine for aborting in most cases. Finally: for prevention nothing works like magic mushrooms. No guarantees though but we do what we can to keep the beast at bay.

Remission? I dont get that. Dont know what that is. Over 6 yrs non stp everyday.
O2 does NOT work, Nor does anything else. I will Not nor ever try shrooms.
I am having DBS surgery this month
