This is too bad! I just love those PDT videos! I watched Nosferatu, and I looked at your other videos. I was amazed... If I could watch all of them. And it's just stupid. Copyright? For this? You post these movies! You don't make them! People won't think that you're like 150 years old. You praise them... Anyway, I hope you won't delete this channel, Peace!
I just filed a counterclaim against "BFI", or whoever may have filed the BS claim against my Alice In Wonderland video. I'll keep you updated and let you know what happens with it.
Sadly, there are a lot of deliberately false copyright claims being made. Youtube doesn't have the time or inclination to research the claims and morons of all stripes exploit this to file false claims.
Oh no. Goddammit! Is this because of the new movie? Sure seems like every time there's a new megapower production of any work, the small guys get stomped preemptively.. I'm so sorry. I have looked forward to every new post you've put up, I've really enjoyed it all. Thank you for all the saturday matinees. I know how much work you've put into this and this makes me pissed and sad. It's like losing a reference library. Shit, man. I'm grieving with you and LS 502..
there is a 1966 commentary to the video, that could be copyrighted, but that is not what was here.
ANYONE can file copyright claim with yt, they'll take stuff down.
But it is illegal to file false claims, and you can counterclaim to see who file the claim. BFI may not had filed the claim, this 1903 video is up elsewhere on yt.
I got the same strike yesterday. I also upload public domain films, and was surprised to get this strike! From all of the research I did, I was sure that it was public domain. Obviously it's still under copyright by British Film Institute, which is a film archive (from what I understand). This was my 1st strike, so I'm going to keep up my public domain material for now. I'm going to do more research about the rest of the material though. If I get another strike, it will all come down as well.
it would have been intersting to take it to court....
maybe them are wrong??
Old books gan be given out again by someone new and then this new person get them right..maybe YOU own the rights by law if no one else put them out after them 70 years they are owned by origin owner...
this happened to Alistair Crowleys Book of the Law I think, hmmm,,, can be wrong here... but it has happened....

what a shame, you'd think by the very nature of 'PDT' it would be ok to post. I thought the clue was in the title...

If it wasn't for PDT (Alice in Wonderland particularly), our band's music video would look incredibly dull. Thanks for all the uploads, man.

File a counterclaim and see.
This is also YouTube's fault for not making their copyright regulations and actions more transparent for all users.

Anything before 1923 is public domain. Perhaps the soundtrack was in question. :(...

Yes, you're right about Crowley's BOTL. I worked for the guy who published it after the copyright expired and he got shit for it. but fought back.
