  • Oh, i see, you meant 1/4 inch. In your description box, it says 1 inch! Thanks for the recipe though!

  • @alice123561 Sorry! It is supposed to be 1/8th of an inch! I will correct that! Thank you so much for coming by!

  • Wouldn't they be VERY thick when rolled out to an inch? Estimating, a half-inch seems fine...? ^-^'

  • ignore the removed comment. what happens if i use milk instaed of heavy cream?

  • @LuluComesFromMars If you do, use whole milk. You need the fat. Thanks again!

  • @pastryparrot1 ah i see thanks from the only 15 year old of 2011 who dreams of being a pastry chef <3

  • @LuluComesFromMars You are welcome!

  • @LuluComesFromMars It can be if you want. No problem! Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks! It worked very good. The taste is delicious! Thank you for this recipe! :) I also used royal icing to decorate them and they look really cool!

  • @metatronico Great! I am happy you liked them! I am sure the cookies looked beautiful with the royal icing! Take care!

  • I just made this but the doug seems softer and greasier than it looks in your video. I just put it in the freezer. Would that work?

  • @metatronico Yes. That should work. I would not freeze it solid. Simply wait for the dough to harden. Also, please note that you need to roll it out to 1/4 inch thick and not 1/2 and inch as I stated. Thanks! I hope your cookies come out wonderful!

  • are you sure you meant to say roll it to a 1/2 an inch? , i made the cookies and i was not able to get 36 cookies . maybe you meant to say 1/4 of an inch?

    thanks

  • @bshafer75 Good morning! That was supposed to have been fixed to 1/4 inch last year. I apologize. I have placed it in the remarks a few minutes ago. I hope the cookies were good - even if you got less of them. This is a great buttery and tasty dough. Have a great week.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this recipe...it is easy to make and the cookies are so delicious. My daughter and I just finished decorating them and baking them and look forward to giving them as gifts! The orange zest makes it taste special! Thanks again!

  • My pleasure! I am so happy this worked out! YES!

  • great video! how long do you have to wait for them to cool off?

  • Thanks Steph! I appreciate you coming by and watching! Wait for 3 to 4 minutes before you remove the cookies from the baking sheet. Bon appetit!

  • Thanks MaryAnn, I gotta make these this year and I'm gonna try the orange zest. No recipes so far had that. Great idea w/ cinnamon too! Happy Holidays.

  • And to you too! Thanks for watching!

  • "Maryanne love the tutorial, you answered a bunch of questions that have been on the back of my mind every time I make cookies. Now I know that I can keep the cookies in the fridge for 3~4weeks & decorated them as needed. Thank you for the very informative video. Have a great day"

  • My pleasure! Have a wonderful day!

  • Hey Maryanne! I have been looking for a good cutout cookie recipe. I am going to try these. Did you know that you can make your eggs "room temp" by putting cold eggs out of the fridge in a measuring cup filled with hot tap water? In 10 minutes they will be what is considered room temp. I learned this on the King Arthur Flour Website. I never remember to take my eggs or my butter out of the fridge! Good work. Look forward to see what else you have coming! Noreen

  • Thanks for the great tip Noreen! I really did not know that. These are great. I iced them with Royal Icing and they were a hit! Let me know how they come out OK?

  • 1/8-1/4" thick? not 1/2 " right? They look great ! Wondering about rolling the dough into a log, refrigerating it to chill then rolling the log into crushed hazelnuts before baking ?

  • Did I say 1/2 inch? OMG! Dementia at its best . . . Yes 1/4 inch is correct. And to think I edit these things. Scary! I think your idea with the hazelnuts sounds amazing! Rolling the soft, sticky dough might be challenging. You might have to chill it a little first. Have a great day!
