@RJhasFLOW Yeah but that makes it even more strange, putting things like this in a kids program because they're too innocent to understand. Not like its a big deal really, just thought it was strange, lol
@CosmicUndeadElf Well, look at Hunchback of Notre Dame...the plot of that whole movie was totally inappropriate for children and what was implied was way worse than this xD
Cool if you like this...your kids may like growing a real TickleMe Plant from seeds and watching out the leaves close and the branches droop when you Tickle It..
No kidding,,,just search TickleMe Plant to see this houseplant and to easily grow your own!
Hahaha, I was watching Sesame Street today with my daughter, and when this came up I started to laugh my bum off. I love Sesame Street! I came on here so that I can show her daddy it when he gets home!
yeah, and the little kiddies will have no idea until they see these reruns again when they're older. i watch old movies and reruns of stuff now and get tons of jokes and references that went right over my head when i was little.
No you're not the only one. I confess I LOLd - partly from shock....
Fortunately jokes like this sail right over the heads of little ones. Unfortunately some parents laughed like I did and some kids learned to repeat it with the same double-entendre tone. Sesame Street really should have quit while it was ahead - every adult in the room already knows what "gardener" means to a desperate housewife. ;)

Sorry, ran out of characters. To continue: idea came from to describe an awful show or movie or whatever (the (element of fiction) you're inheriting) it is (you are), I just have grown to like the term. But I'll use a more mainstream term next time to make it clear to everyone. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

No GenXorcist1976, when I said "parodied an abortion like this" I didn't mean they were parodying an abortion, I mean that they were parodying an awful show. I mean the same thing as if I said "parodied a horrible show like this". Let me re-emphasize that they weren't, obviously, parodying abortion, and I did not get that interpretation and complain about it, I'm just mad they parodied a show that has so little intellectual value. Sorry, I should've been more clear. I don't even know where the

One writer probably saw this and thought it was funny. well, you lost your tv privilidges. With all the recent tv show parodies on this ever dying show, no one should watch tv. What, you think you're clever for parodying an adult show on a kid's network? You're not even criticizing them or parodying a good show. Desperate Housewives (why did Neal McDonough join the cast, probably thinking "Geez, I was David McNorris for 5 minutes, but now I have to be on a show like desperate housewives). FN
I hate how Seaseme Street parodied an abortion like this. I don't mind them parodying adult shows, but when a show like desperate housewives, which is just a show about sexy sex, is parodied, I get mad, because no good writing is involved. See, there are shows that are well written that are not kid appropriate but they parody them in a kid apropriate way, but this does not deserve the parody. Shame on society for not protesting such a threat on the integrity of the American television culture.
Oh, come on. For kids, all it says is that plants need water and sun to grow. Parents can recognize the reference, appreciate it, and they might be more inclined to watch TV with their kids instead of leaving them alone with it. Sesame Street has always been like this---aimed to entertain kids without alienating adults.
The first two or three seasons may not, but the latest seasons of DH are all about sex and horrible OoC, which is stupid most of the time because the housewives are like a thousand years old.

I love all the sexually jokes in this are great, amazing writing. great for the parents but the kids are none the wiser because all the skit is telling you to do is take care of plants. Can't wait for the mad men parody. "Eat Lucky's Lollies" "We should go celebrate, what kind of milk do you want?"
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES IS SO MUCH BETTER :D BUT THIS IS LOL

@CosmicUndeadElf The innuendo is blatant for adults. For kids, it's non-existant.
