  • Also, got to handle a 5.11 Journeyman. I prefer the Emerson.

  • JT, do u have the Combat or Super Karambit? Couldn't get a gloved finger in the retention hole. The hole on the Super is .4 bigger. But, the carry is considerably bigger for my situation. I'm thinking the Combat might be fine though, as I can't get my hands on a Super. Thoughts? Thanks man.

  • Hey JT. What is your recommendation for a good place to buy Emersons? Do you have a favorite?

  • @m1ghtysauc3 ...I'm lucky to find a small selection at some gun shops here in Hawaii. A lot of online sites list them but, they're always out-of-stock/back ordered. I hate when a site doesn't indicated that and just leaves the site like it's available. I ordered a CQC-15...(2) months go by and NADA! I cancelled the order and got one from Emersons website in (3) days.

Check your local shops, search the internet but, Emerson's site is the BOMB! You might pay MSRP but, you'll get the knife!

  • looks like u are a big fan of serration

  • @Lvl22nerd ...I carry (2) knives minimum along with gun, etc...(1) of the knives always has serrations. For ex: I'm carrying a Emerson CQC-15 BTS (serrated/primary) and a Strider DDG SMF (plain edge/secondary)...options.

Like my buddy macjmillsx says...a plain edge knife cuts easily when sharpen/not when dull...serrations cut even when dull. Even Ernest Emerson believes in having at least one blade with serrations.

  • how's the coating on the blade hanging on after lots of use? i'm thinking of getting an emerson but wonder about black or satin.

  • @thebodybuildingedge ...I can't attest to how they stand up against heavy use because I don't use my knife for utilitarian task..cutting cord, rope, camping, bushcraft, etc...

I can attest that the Black-T finish used by Emerson last the test of time.10-15 years they still look good. I have a few that are 20 years old that show the wear of handling, rubbing, etc...

  • JT, were do you find the .45 thumbstuds? i cant find them anyware

  • @CrotalusKid1 ...I get them straight from Emerson Knives website. He's partnered with Steel Flame and Starlinger. On the left-side column click "jewelry" the "Steel Flame" and you'll find the clips, pendants, necklaces, etc...and the .45 acp thumbstuds ($60.00 ea.).

  • @HELLZZARMY thanks, JT. i am going to buy my first emerson soon, and like the .45. would you suggest the super cqc 15 or the super cqc8?

  • @CrotalusKid1 ...I don't think there is a "Super" CQC-15? And the Super CQC-8 is a pretty big knife. I suggest you handle a few Emersons and see which you prefer. But, if you don't have that oppurtunity I would suggest a CQC-15 out of the choices you gave.

A CQC-7 is also a great Emerson to start out with...one which started the "tactical knife" craze. A still highly sought after blade and one of my first.

  • @HELLZZARMY hmm, i thought they made the super 15. im not really a fan of regular tanto blades like on the cqc 7, but i like the cqc 15 because you still get the tanto tip but still have a decent amount belly. thanks for the tips JT

  • Ok man, world is gone to shit, like what's happening in japan happens here. You can only take one of these knives with you, which would it be?

  • @CanadianPatriot86 ...Taking only one of anything is not a realistic scenario for me but, I'll play along.

If you talking about Emersons...I acquired a few more since this video so I would say my: CQC-12 Comrade Military Folder.

Now if I'm limited to what's in the video my: Super CQC-8 w/Sterling Silver Super Skull.

  • @HELLZZARMY

Nice choices, the comrade is a killer blade. I don't think you could go wrong really, nobody makes knives quite like Emerson.

  • Ok thanks for ur thought and time

  • Which would you recomend the CQC-15 BF or SF i guess it really depends on style but i wanted to get ur take on it

  • @running594 ...until recently I prefered the Black-T finish. I still like it but, now I prefer to get my Emersons in the stonewash or satin finish.

  • Holy crap all those knives are over $200 how do u afford them all??

  • @running594 ...yeah those Sterling Silver and Royal Bronze super-skull clips made by Steel Flame are $180.00 a piece.

Anyway to answer your question: Hard work and clean living...(I can barely say that without cracking up laughing)! Nah, just the opposite...lol!

  • hey JT! do you have the cqc7-karambit? can you do a review on that? thank you! and also the roadhouse please.. take care!

  • @kristeruiz ...sorry don't have a Roadhouse and just the original Karambit seen in this video. My newest Emersons are the: Barnett M50/Emerson, Super Commander, and the Kershaw/Emerson Auto-Commander (see videos).

  • I've got this idea you like Emerson knives... Just saying!

  • cool these Emersons, and you seem to be a huge fan of them ! I can only find one downside...why do they use linerlocks? I'm not a fan of linerlocks so what are your thoughts on the Emerson linerlock? will buy the CQC 15 if you convince me on the locking.

have also seen a small fixed blade EMERSON POLICE UTILITY, around the same size of a folder, same steel, style and no worries about locking hehe, price is ok so i'm buying it

  • @TheCandyrod ...a lot of the current production and custom knives use liner locks. But, we all have our preferences.

As far as Emersons go, yeah I am a big fan. I heard that about 3 years or so ago Emerson had some problems/complaints about their liner locks and in the end they corrected the problem. I only learned of this recently/ no research on my part.

I been carrying them off and on since the 90's and trust their product. Besides if it fails I always have secondary/other options

  • I think I'd want JT as my bodygaurd

  • hey man, nice blades. How much does the raven go for?

  • @TheHellBound666...I bought it from a local gun sho a few years back...about $119.00 if I remembered correctly.

  • Stunning collection my friend. I'm very envious!!

  • Hey, great videos!

    Rocking blades. Very very jeaolous.

This being a Emerson video and all I thought I'd ask ya if ya knew anyone interested in a green Emerson Specwar B SFS? I could put together a little video of it if ya know anyone interested.

I just discovered this knife culture here on the tube and now i have a hard time closing my eyes at night. Addictive.

  • Great video!

I have to ask you, how do you afford all those knives? That must be like 2 or 3 grand sitting there. -John

  • @johnu78 ..."I run a few guns, you bastards (Scientist-not you) ruin the world..." lol!

  • @johnu78 He worked his ass off...

  • i like the one with the silver skull. except the serrations. I hate serrated blades.

  • vivid anymore. You know when the dream is ending and you can't remember much about this part. You can't remember the beginning or end of dreams. When you realize I didn't take the pictures you don't really do anything. I remember feeling truly mistaken. I honestly didn't know you wanted your face to remain a secret. So right around here the dream ends and thats it, that was my dream. I'm sure I got your description waaay off.

  • @WarThug13 ...at first I had no idea what you were yammering about then, realize I had to read your comment in order...lol! I guess I should apoligize for affecting you subconcious mind.

And as for my face who would want to see my ugly mug...lol! Part of it is I'd like to maintain some anonymity. Just a peckerwood with a lot of guns and knives...lol!

Or an "EVERYMAN" giving other youtubers HOPE and INSPIRATION to do their own videos!

NAH! let's stick with the ugly mug...lol!

  • to your wife (who is still frozen btw) and this is what I make out: "Hold on, hold on, this guy, this guy's trying to take pictures. Don't worry, don't worry, gonna block him" Your not very tall, but very muscular so I'm pretty scared when I realize you've noticed me. I think I say, "No no, I didn't take 'em." I drop the camera at this point. I don't know what your intent was at this point, to harm me or just block me, but now the dream enters that stage where everything goes fuzzy and its not-

  • upload them to youtube. I'm feeling pretty happy right now as I'm finally about to get the much sought after photos of your face. Then you start to move even though your supposed to be paused. You get out of the car, I now see you in full view. You are wearing a red muscle shirt, ripped jeans, and flip flops. You have black hair (gelled and spiked) and square, boxy face. You look sort of Samoan. You have big eyes and a short head which makes the contrast very noticeable. You mention something-

  • your face. You had a pretty square chin and your hair was spiked. I believe that was my subconscious drawing on the memory of one of your videos where we can make out the silhouette of your face in the reflection of the camera. So now that time is paused I get out of the car which is in mid flip frozen in the air. The front windshield is shattered. So I go around to the front of the frozen vehicle to see your face from the front. I have a camera with me as well so I can take pictures and-

  • So we're driving along and you are just taring down the road. I forgot to mention that when you started you were actually driving pretty smoothly. I think you taring through the streets was my subconscious's interpretation of your sick, crazy mind and hunger to violently gut people who fuck with you. So after a good 30 seconds of rampage I pause the time (this ability is frequent many of my dreams) not out of fear of the driving though. Throughout the drive I at many times got small glimpses of-

  • I had a dream about you last night. Basically I start out in the back seat of what feels like a Hummer. Your in the drivers seat and your wife is in the passenger seat. At this point neither of your faces are visible just your presence. So your driving this big ol monster and just smashing the others out of your way, drifting around corners etc. If you ever played GTA 4 and driven the hummer in that you'll know what I mean. I believe thats where my subconscious was drawing from.

  • ★★★★★

  • Hey JT... Another great video.

  • The CQC 15 is my favorite Emerson

  • @airsoftgunner47 ...10-4 mine too! Until I get my hands on a CQC-12...lol!
