My Mom took me downtown every Christmas season to see the AM&A's windows. They seemed so magical to me. I will never forget those days and the windows.
@krbthomas I can't believe how now days they have just taken everything away from our children and this generation, no wonder kids today get high, fight and jooin gangs. THEY'RE BORED. they have no contrasts of things to compare things to make even the simplest of decisions.
Glad i came along when I did. (born 1972) but still envy those who grew up in the fifties and sixties and seventies. LOL.
today's kids are stuck with walmart, lady ga ga and justin beiber and beyonce, EWW!
Though I think it's wonderful that someone had enough sense to preserve these displays and showcase them for the enjoyment of future generations, they are not a part of the heritage of Lancaster, NY--they are a part of Buffalo NY's heritage. I have nothing against Lancaster--I grew up there, and remain in Buffalo today (as a 5th generation WNYer). But, these displays really should be a part of Buffalo's Historical Society. Maybe someday Lancaster will either donate them or sell them back.

I think the Lancaster Historical society may have purchased those decorations, restored them and display them
