  • Screw Macs and PC's. Just get a Linux its flying fucking awesome and free.

  • Isn't the system restore function the pc equivalent to time machine?

  • People are saying "PC" or how it is normaly called Windows are better than Macs because they play MORE games!

BULLSH!T! If you wanna play games buy a PS3 or an Xbox!

    Thats some machines for gaming.

Im a Windows user and i hate it...

  • @iG3AR lol @ u

  • Wow have they ever heard of system restore? Windows has it and you have to make copies, just revert back to when you didn't delet the file

  • and i forgot to mention the only way to delete something on a PC is to use the desk defrag program, no files are deleted untill then, they apear as ghost files on the HDD, they are still there but are permanently disabled, a program was made to retrieve these files

  • its funny because windows does this better with system restore, which automatically saves your settings, but for backing up ur files u should use an external HDD not a program

  • @360GamerXlX "Previous Versions" or Shadow Copy are more comparable features.

  • does "recycle bin" ring a bell?

  • follow the mac! lol

  • bumper car

  • Ha, too bad that Bill Gates designed the "Recycle Bin" ages ago.

  • @HarryYeates "recycle bin" is on both opperating systems.. and you can empty it too. duh

  • Pc came out with a much simpler less time consuming version of that like 20 years ago

  • Could you pm me what´s the soundtrack´s name?

  • After a crash made by an official apple update:

Hey guys where are you? Hey?! Ohooooh??!!

Why i don't have a ghost like PC?

lol that's what happening to my wife now, thanks Apple

  • Whoa... Mac guy changes shirts -every hour-?!? Cripes!

  • @longmind lmao

  • @longmind they smells D:

  • rofl

  • It is NOT the equivalent of system restore, system restore is far more vital. It's a program that does a few lines in DOS for you which is handy for people who are new to computers. Nothing is entirely deleted from your hard drive, not from emptying recycling bin, not even from formatting. The only way to delete something permanently is to first remove it from your recycling bin, and then create an item with the same name in its place or get a program to destroy the file for you.

  • Both Mac & Widows has a Bin la, just the mac can go back to it's previous state.

  • "just the mac can go back to it's previous state"

My Pavilion Desktop computer that I bought in 2005 had something called system restore out of the box. Sure it doesn't come with the cool animation like time machine, but it does the same thing.

  • Uhh yeah, if you delete something on a PC, it just goes to the recycle bin. It doesn't delete until you click 'empty recycle bin'.

    Stupid mac motherfuckers.

  • Umm, the same thing goes for Macs...

  • of course the video doesnt talk about system restore. how would apple look if they told everyone that they added a feature to their new OS that their competetor has had for years? lol

  • so true i like system restore

  • Apple mac doest know what pcs have System Restore. This video doest make any meaning of it

  • lol, welcome to the 21st century apple, dickheads...

  • WTF? This just goes to show how cocky Apple is, do they not know about System Restore thats been a part of Windows since XP?

Apple just pisses me off so much, way to finally catch up Apple, so now if you manage to fuck up your Mac(which isnt that hard) you dont have to pull out your hair anymore! yay!

  • @Fireinme81207 dude, the system restore sucks ass.

  • VISTA HAS THIS TOO!

  • MORE prof APPLE IS THE ONE THAT COPIES.

  • I OWN A PC. WHERE IS YOUR "TIME MACHINE FOR WINDOWS?"because there ISN'T ANY. When I tell my friends (windows owners) about Time Machine, they ALL GET IMPRESSED, SO STOP INVENTING ARGUMENTS FOR DISCRIMINATING MACS.

  • It isn't called time machine, IT IS CALLED SYSTEM RESTORE.

  • It isn't the same thing. System Restore restores the entire system. With Time Machine you can get back any item you want without having to restore the entire system.

And the shadow copy in vista is similar, but not as good since it still just makes a copy of a file on your local drive. If smth bad happens to the drive, gone is the file.

  • but when you harddrive is corrupted on a mac. then you gotta buy a new mac.

  • "System Restore restores the entire system. With Time Machine you can get back any item you want"

If you know what you're doing in DOS, restoring any deleted file is easy. There's plenty of 3rd party applications that do exactly what the command in DOS does, there's one I use called Restoration.

  • @ldrslucas douchebag

  • Dude windows had it since i think xp 2000 might of had it i don't know for for sure for 2000

  • I think 95 had it.

  • Umm Pc(Vista can do this as well)I do it on mine. There is proof.Even if your HDD crashes.Usually your stuff is still on it.I do data recoveries all the time & set people up with auto recoveries so it does the same thing. I think PC and PC (MAC) are both good in different areas. But trying to claim something and pushing that PC's don't have it is false.Oh wait, my PC just finished a recovery save. Now I can go back and find that file I deleted of a MAC commercial and make fun it & the lies again.

  • "so if you accidently delete a file, you can get it back" yeah um its called a recycle bin, and its not that hard to get it out.

  • 25x "thanks PC" very funny!

  • pc has system restore...

  • I cant believe this. Windows has had backup long before Mac has. Also, Time Machine in Leopard is messed up, I think Apple purposely crippled it so that they could sell more Time Capsules. I can't believe this.

    Vista>Leopard

  • Its messed up how? I have had no problems with leopard.

  • The mac backs up there shit into a external drive, windows backs there shadow copys into the drive its already using . So if your computer crashes and you lose your memory your fucked/.

  • Please find out about what you are talking about before you post patent nonsense. Windows Backup Center fully supports networked drives. While Apple's Time Machine doesn't even work with its own Airport Disks, which screwed over many customers who purchased the AirPort Extreme.

  • Thats very cool tnx man but dont giv a dam bout the airport disks. Also dont call my comments nonsense, what i said was right, and what you said was true.

  • False.. Even if your HDD fails.. You can still recover data. I have done it many times on Friends PCs and PC's(Mac) Cause all in all they are both PC's.. Same parts and everything.. WOW. Just different OS's

  • yea thats true got a pc (real one) myself but there are complications if the computer is really f'd up

  • If Apple wants to make an ad touting its features, fine, but making all these ads in the Mac vs. PC format is just stupid. This ad doesn't even make sense. All editions of Windows Vista except Starter and Home Basic come with Windows Backup and Restore Center that has all the functionality of Time Machine, and works all Network-Attached-Storage devices. When is Apple rolling out backup support for AirPort Extreme attached drives again?

  • widows rock thanxs bill gates

  • Hahahaha, Windows has had this type of feature since XP was first released in 2001.

A little behind the times, Mac?

  • apparently u don't know shit about time machine (: and go do your history, windows wouldnt have graphic user interface if it wasn't for mac. not to mention a whole lot of other things.

  • WORD

  • MSConfig -> System Restore.

Windows ME and XP have had that feature long before the release of OS X. These ads are bullshit, but unlike the Mac users I see going around praising all these ads I've got better things to do than share my opinion on every single one of them.

  • nerds.

  • Great argument.

  • u just did.

  • ....

    This is just one ad.

  • hahaha. looks like pc is behind the times. System restore (windows) restores your pc to an earlier time, DELETING ALL FILES CREATED FROM THAT TIME AND THE PRESENT. Time machine takes you back in time to recover a file or restore your entire mac if a hard drive crashes. System restore can't do that. Time machine got way better ratings. And yes, a feature called backup was around since before 1999 in MAC os 9. They just revamped it.

  • hahaha I beat you on a car race buddy...

  • How many people have the same commercial?

  • :)

    awesome

  • A friend of mine was in a car accident and her macbook didn't make it (rest in peace old buddy) but thanks to time machine when she got a new one she was able to use time machine to restore everything back to the day the other one died. I'd highly recommend getting your laptop covered by your insurance, you've just dropped over $1,000 on one of those after all.

  • What have we learned? Women can't drive.

  • hahaha I beat you on a car race buddy :o)
