  • This really helped me. Thank You :)

  • thanx, helped me ALOT

PS. i thought i should let you know... i haven't watched the video yet!!!

  • This helped me a lot. Thank you.

  • great job! I only wish there were some reason to have to learn this junk in the first place. It's completely impractical and useless in 99.99999999% of any real life circumstances. A total waste of time and money that should be spent on something more worthy.

  • thanks broke it down way easier than my teacher

  • Thank you for helping me prepare for my placement test.

  • Now I know this will help me in real life, just like imaginary numbers.

  • what's sad is that once we have the answer we have no idea what to do with it lol

  • ohmygoodgod i understand!

  • i hate complex fractions!

  • the teacher on this video is just like every teacher I know, they do not break down the problem. They assume you know how they are getting to a certain point. Hey Teach, all of us are not gifted in algebra, if we were we would not be here in the first place!

  • What happens to an expression in parenthesis? Such as 5x-(3y)^-1

  • I realize that a student needs to put in their full effort but sometimes try my hardest and have practically made a hole in my paper from erasing so many wrong answers that it becomes overwhelming to the point that I feel like bursting into tears. I just wanted to acknowledge what you are doing to help people like us who's teachers are unwilling and not dedicated to their students. Thank you so much

  • just learned more about complex fractions than i ever would with my teacher.

  • @DesMor1000 we have the same answer

  • You do not know How much I love you right now!!

  • AARRGGHH!!!! MY RIGHT EAR HURTS!!! WHAT'S WITH THE SPEAKER??? oh well...at least i won't be failed in the test tomorrow...

  • i still dont understand ;_;

  • @DesMor1000 Would that really be simpler?

  • it really helped me a llot!!

thank you so much thumbs up if youre test is today!!

  • can you help me solve: 7+1 (numerator) over 1+1/x (demoniator)

  • What if its ¹/x +¹/y I don't understand!!

  • For some reason I just couldn't grasp this concept. Thanks.

  • Thank you Thank you sooo much!! :D

  • Maybe i woulnt fail my finals....

  • If only i knew about this during my high school years. I would have been getting straight A's in all my classes. And now I am a self-taught student in college ;)

  • cool video.

  • I GET IT! Better than my algebra teacher.

  • thank you for uploading this video

  • @100xines The x's can be canceled from the 7x and 9x because they are common factors, and one of them is in the numerator while the other is in the denominator. So basically, think of it as dividing an x from the top and bottom of 7x/9x, resulting in 7/9.

  • excellent video. Very helpful.

  • Wow. We've been doing this for a week and I was so lost. This video saved me for my test! Thank you!

  • You just explained to me in 7 minutes how to solve complex fractions but i don't get my teacher trying to explain to me in 2 weeks.. Weird.. you are a god.

  • @DesMor1000 To be safe, ask your teacher in which format he/she prefers you to show your answers.

  • i wish i payed more attention in middle school!

  • ... this was so much more useful than my math book XD. my teacher didn't get to explain this cause we missed a day, so he made it extra credit on the test, and i think i'm going to get it :D

  • ur speaker only comes out one side just letting u know, not to be rude.

  • @devin3627 Thanks for the feedback, I wasn't aware it was doing that.

  • @devin3627

hey I'm doubly happy, I am getting the hang of this AND I aint deaf on the right ear :)

  • What type of Marker are you using?

  • @nullt0ne EXPO Vis-a-Vis, wet erase, fine point

  • @robichaudd The one you are using on this video looks more like a Paper Mate Flair Point-Guard Porous Point Pens? is that right?

  • @nullt0ne Yeah that could be. I made the video a long time ago and have used several different markers over the years. The type you mentioned and the expo type both work well.

  • thank you so much!!

  • horrible teaching method. just awful.

  • your voice is so adorable! it reminds me a tiny bit of marcell the shell's voice XD

  • i still dont understand. this is different method from my teachers explanations.... but how?

  • I have a problem that i need help with.

  • This has helped me a lot, thank you very much. I appreciate your hard work.

  • Is there different method of this? Bec. my teacher has another method somethin' like this:

she will multiply the numerator of the upper fraction to the denominator of the down fraction and the denominator of the upper fraction to the numerator of the down fraction then after, she will simplify it...

    Is that possible?

  • @abagonboys Yeah, that's a shortcut. You just have to be careful to know when it's okay to use it. It's okay to use that shortcut when you have a single fraction divided by a single fraction. Then you can multiply the top fraction by the reciprocal of the bottom fraction, which is what your teacher's shortcut is.

  • I'm amaze that we have some kind of this person that can give tutorials for FREE.

    God Bless you

you are not searching for some gift back for your tutorials,

    thumbs up for ths

  • you are my savior

  • thank you for explaining it so clearly..

  • does anybody know how to simplify this 5(8-5)+3

    I don't know how i can exoress it here....32-3

    the two is exponent 3.3=9

  • wow. You are really good. thanks.

  • Hi! How do I simplify this. 2 over sqrt 5 minus sqrt 5.

  • @Neranniv undefined. sqrt 5 minus sqrt of 5=0, 2/0 is udefined.

  • @Neranniv The answer Generalvaldez posted is correct, unless you meant (2/sqrt5) - sqrt5. Then you'd need to create a common denominator of sqrt5, subtract the fractions, and rationalize the final answer so there's no sqrt in the denominator.

  • THANK YOU! My final is tomorrow and I finally understand! :-)

  • thanks so much for posting this! it's so much easier to watch someone solve these instead of reading paragraphs and paragraphs of information. (:

  • Thank you very much

  • what do i do if 1/4 of 8 over 1an1/2 of 3??????

  • what do i do if 1/4 of 8 over 1an1/2 of 3??????

  • thank you so much

  • do u know how to do three layer fractions.

    eg 1/2/3

  • Thinks of it as either 1/2 divided by 3, or 1 divided by 2/3 (look to the wording or layout of the problem to let you know which one). Then change divide to multiply by the reciprocal.

  • @robichaudd I just had a question about the first problem you solved. Does it make the answer false if I take 9 (x + 63) and distribute getting 9x + 567. (like wise for the denominator) ?

  • @princeherbie123 It does not make the answer false to distribute in the numerator and/or in the denominator. Ask your teacher in which format he/she prefers you to show your answers.

  • @princeherbie123

    great shout

  • Your videos really help me understand my Algebra better, thank you so much. What book are you using?

  • I use Lial's Inroductory Algebra from Pearson Higher Ed for my classes.

  • I LOVE YOU!!!

  • Thank you so much! i wish you were my teacher!

  • omg!!!!! thank you soooo much very descriptive i just love your work you should be a top payed teacher thank you soooooooooooooo much

  • Theres no words to explain how much this helps

  • I FINALLY UNDERSTAND HOW TO SIMPLIFY COMPLEX FRACTIONS.

My High School professor did not teach it right today. So I decided to Youtube it and I fell upon your video. Doing this because we have an exam coming around this week containing Complex Fractions. Can't afford to fail it. Thx! ;)

  • thank you for the very informative video

  • what about the factoring?

    and Complex fraction with factoring

  • Anytime you can factor any of the expressions in the complex fraction, go ahead and factor them. Then continue on with the other steps of the process shown in the video.

  • thank you so much, your a better teacher than my teacher in school!!

  • Thank you so much for doing this! your time spent has helped me understand these problems better!

  • this might be stupid but, why is it that the LCD of the no. 1 problem 7x??

  • The LCD is 7x because the denominators of the fractions on top are 7 and x, so in this case just multiplying them together gives the LCD. Like if the denominators were 4 and 7, the LCD would be 28.

(It's not always just a straight multiply though. If the denominators were 7x and x, the LCD would still be 7x ,not 7x^2, because the LCD 7x already contains all factors of each denominator separately.)

  • way better than my college professor.. who is Asian and I can't understand

  • Thank you so much for the help! I understood it within the first three minutes from your video compared to two hours of my professors ramblings and scribbles.

  • @Lpcool19... the answer for your question is 108x + 36 over 3x^2 + x

  • Ok can anyone help me real quick? I have this problem: 9+3/x and that is over X/4+1/12. Now i know that I have to multiply the x on the numerater but what I don't know is what should I do for the denominator?

  • Thanks for the video. Wouldn't mind seeing more examples.

  • youtubes a better teacher....

  • Teachers in the collages and schools always sucked, i never got any help or support from them, always going for private tution and online learnings, in the upcoming years people would be more comfortable with self coaching than going for bogus professors in the collage

  • nice job

  • very helpful :) thx

  • just one question: The Final answers' numerators and denominators don't need to be simplified? I mean like, multiplying all of them to remove the grouping symbols?

  • It depends on the teacher or the textbook. The safest thing is to multiply out the parenthesis, but check with your teacher on his/her preference.

  • Oh boy, lady you rock, thank you very much. By doing this on the internet you have no idea how many people you help.

  • WOW! this is wierd because this kind of problem is EXACTLY WHAT I NEED TO LEARN!!! thank you thank you very much.

    you rock.

  • YOU ARE AMAZING! Thanks so much for all of these great videos. You teach it better than my algebra teacher at school.

  • I agree with you.

  • @luker1993 yeah i had no idea what mine was talking about and now i can do it while im sleeping... thank god for robichaudd

  • I only answer follow-up questions to the problems done out in the videos - not enough time to answer new ones. Sorry!

  • hey, youre a great teacher! Thanks!

  • Why can't you just cross multiply.

  • You can in this case. But if you're not sure when it's ok to cross multiply and when it's not ok, it's much safer to do it the long way as shown in the video.

  • Thanks for the help and the video.

  • Fantastic explanation, I'm home-educated and getting help for this stuff is tricky, I wish I had looked to youtube months ago!!

  • Thanks alot! This really helped!

  • This video was great.. Thanks ^^

  • this video really helps in my complex fractions.thanks to robichauudd and one more thing is that the explanation she tells benefit me.
