This is a serious issue and requires across the table negotiations as along with the turtles the comman man of orrisa is involved. The video on you tube seems to make a mockery of the Indian sentiment
It seems that Greenpeace has a personal grudge against the TATAs, as if they did their research they would know that the port belongs to the government and TATA is only one organisation part of the Port authority and will hand over the port to the government
If there were no technological development, I don't know what the hell would you do with your lives ... Probably you would have to go work, as everyone does... Don't worry, you "AnnoyingGreens", Mother Nature, sooner or later will 'take care' of us!
By the way, isn't this kind of publicity enven more cheap than the Nano?...
Ok, the guys at Greenpeace can be assholes sometimes, but this kind of message we can´t ignore, I´m willing to sacrifice comfort in order to have a cleaner environment and to help endangered animal species. And by the way, our modern technological developments allow us to build factories without ruining the planet.
Well... They are not assholes, they are veeeery sensitive... ;)
The question here is: Do they have a better solution? Were can Tata build the damn factory? If there is another 'viable' place and if the turtles problem is really a serious problem, well, I guess Tata as 'a visionary company with clear values and principles' will consider it for sure...
Turtles or Tata. Probably they will build a new cheap car in a turtle shape, as a tribute, if they build the factory at this place...
The olive ridleys are among the 7 natural wonders that happens in India.
Oh yaah...Mother Nature will 'take care' alright...she always tries to maintain balance and you won't always like what she does in return when you mess with her.
Do you think I get sad when I watch tv and see all those natural disasters, where lots of people lose everything? I lost my house 2 years ago, but why did I built it about 1 km from a river? I didn't blame anyone, but myself. Nature was trying to 'maintain balance', as she allways do. That was my best example and I thank her very much for sparing my life...
I'm not with tata ...lol ...i wish i could be with them once i'm done with my mba. .. perhaps now i guess that it seems that my comments are upsetting some people at greenpeace!!!
go tata go ! nothing can stop u from serving this country. .. not even clunky organizations that intent to gain cheap publicity
I think the facts are clear and some of the comments that has been posted here has been made with the intention to discredit the messenger. It seems Greenpeace is upsetting some people in TATA. If really TATA are a visionary company with clear values and principles, and are so innovative as they proclaim themselves, I think it's very easy to change decisions and listen the concerns of 200 scientists (a tenth of whom are with IUCN) and stop the port until have new environmental assessment. Easy.

Greenpeace ought to finally trying to get cheap publicity from flooding such videos on you tube. I think after the environmentalists and the appropriate authorities have concurred with the Tatas that port site is not the actual breeding and nesting grounds for turtles, Greenpeace should direct its efforts to locating and protecting the actual site of turtles. Perhaps, such measures by the organization are an attempt to coercing funds from Tatas, especially since at the time of Nano's launch.
It's a false projection, This cannot be true at all. TATAs are PRIDE of INDIA.
They have always been proactive when it comes to social responsibilities, its impossible to believe that such a huge and responsible organization wont be considerate with the environmental issues pertaining to Tata nano Project. Tata Nano itself is a product conducive to society.
the Orissa coast which is not visited by turtles for nesting, is the North of Dhamra, whr the port is situated.
