  • Why would anyone want to live here?

  • @mlansle1 It's a nice homey neighborhood, if you ask me. My Grandfathers house in this video was built in 1957 and this was the first time a tornado had ever hit. I know our weather can be bad at times, but it's better than being stuck in an ice storm, in my humble opinion.

  • so when we getting a drive thru video of green valley rd?

  • @matt25738 I never promised a video of it. It's all clean now anyway, though.

  • Im glad your grandpa was fine it sure was a devastating tornado that came through vestavia i dont live in cahaba but i do live in vestavia by the highschool and it seemed as if a tornado came through my neighborhood i was honestly too tired to realize what was going on at 5:40 in the morning the sky was purple and the wind was crazy i also had to down power lines and 2 trees down in my backyard. Im just glad the vestavia residents were ok im just praying for the ones affected in Tuscaloosa.

  • @auburnISbeast Thanks. Yeah, my Grandad drove up to the high school in Vestavia and up through there he said it was really bad. Glad you're ok and the residents too. Coulda been alot worse. Tuscaloosa really took the hit big time.

  • I'm a fellow cahaba heights resident. Can you post us a video of what it looks like now? This Nado was crazy!

  • @matt25738 Sure can. I'll try and post a new one next week. It still looks bad but it's a little better.

  • will pray for yall .

  • @ousts Thank you. I appreciate it. Such a tragic day for this state.

  • Wow Adam what a mess! And Thats a pretty place well was.You know those big old trees aren't immediately replaced oh if you got 80 years or so LOL.I am sure glad your grandfather didn't get hurt!Man that had to be scary. When a tornado came over that week here we heard everthing and it was loud but it didn't drop down so very lucky. That could have been straigh line winds. In arkansas straight line winds killed some people in april very powerfull they are.Take care..

  • @arkansastrash320 Thanks. This was an EF-2 tornado that was confirmed that came through there that morning at 5:40 A.M. before the big disasters happened later that day. Winds were 120 MPH. And yes, I am so glad my Grandad is ok. Could've been alot worse. Such a mess down here, man. I don't think it'll ever be quite the same. Thanks again.

  • @TheTerminator310 Well man I sure hope you the best of luck in getting things back as regular as you can make them.Going to take time thats for sure.I hope the bad weather is over for this year.Allthough may in arkansas has been deadly before.I just want warm weather and calm.Ok catch you later and hope you post updates on cleanup and stuff. Thanks paul. P.S most of our tornadoes come when its still dark outside here too try to catch everyone asleep...

  • @arkansastrash320 Thank you. I hope the bad weather is over too. I don't think I could take this all over again. And I will post cleanup updates sometime soon too. Still looks really bad though. Thanks.

  • Hope Granddiddy got some help out of you eventually.

  • @ytood Oh yeah. He sure has. I've been over there everyday for the past 4 days cleaning. It sure is a mess.

  • I live in Cahaba Heights too, it was confirmed that it was a f2 that TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR GRESHAM HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MOUNTAIN BROOK/VESTAVIA HILLS AREA. FROM THERE IT MOVED NORTHEAST ACROSS U.S. HIGHWAY 280 INTO CAHABA HEIGHTS...EVENTUALLY CROSSING INTERSTATE 459 BEFORE LIFTING NEAR GRANTS MILL ROAD JUST EAST OF THE LIBERTY PARK AREA

  • @adrianedb2002 Thanks. I knew it had to be a twister. Straight-line winds definitely didn't do this.

  • I live in Cahaba Heights and they aren't saying a tornado did it, but it sounded like one and all the damage makes it seem that way to me. I have never seen so much devastation or been that scared in my life! Glad your PawPaw made it through!

  • @jayswifeypooh Thank you. Yes, this is where this is at, I just called it Vestavia cause thats what Cahaba Heights is a part of. I believe whole heartedly that it was a tornado that came through because of the way the damage is. Have you seen the Cahaba Heights Plaza lately? 1 side is destroyed and the other side is slightly damaged. And my Grandads neighborhood was damaged severely, but Mountain Brook is ok. I don't believe staight-line winds one bit.

  • wow bud that sucks! im glad u and ur family are ok!

  • @ryanwhitney Thanks, man. Yeah, we're all good, thank God. It could've been much worse though. This wasn't nothing compared to the Tusacaloosa tornado that happened just a short 3 hours after this vid.

  • damn man thats crazy! now go apply at construction. need your help in that ford truck!

  • @northsiderollers Hell yeah, lol.

  • holy shit thats intense. when the tornado went through my area in 94 i think it was we had a bunch of work that had to be done in my area. i know how you guys feel.

  • @JRFFRB Yeah, man. It's gonna take a good 2 months or so to clean up. I gotta go back over there tomorrow to help clean up my Grandad's yard. It's a friggin mess.

  • @TheTerminator310 yea looks like it.

  • @TheTerminator310 hey i heard dolly ridge road is pretty bad on the cahaba heights side. i moved a couple weeks ago and i'm just curious about the damage. If you get off 280 and onto dolly ridge going towards cahaba heights and you get to the first red light and take a right, is that street bad? i had a couple friends that live on that road but i lived off rocky ridge and i heard it wasn't bad. Thanks

  • @Confederacyy I'm not sure. I haven't been down US 280 for a couple of days. Heard it's a disaster. I haven't been over to Dolly Ridge in a while, but I might drive over there soon to see.

  • @TheTerminator310 yeah if you do can you please get back with me? thanks

  • @Confederacyy You're welcome. Will do ASAP.

  • holy shit

  • @SockBilly Tell me 'bout it. About 5+ other tornadoes touched down around the state that day, one of them being an EF-5. Set a record for most violent tornado in history for Alabama.
