I agree, ventureandcivic. i guess the passenger airbag deployed a bit late... I can actually see the passenger hitting his head on the dashboard before the airbag inflates fully...

the thailand version of the navara got a uses the same safety as the us nissan frontier an got 5 stars check it out.

Here in Australia it was retested as a 2 star. Ancap was tougher stantards now then euroncap. And anyway the Toyota Hilux is the safest light truck.

The D40 Navara has recently undergone EuroNCAP crash testing along with the Mitsubishi Triton/L200 and Isuzu D-Max, It received one star with a strikeout, however after retesting with upgraded computer software it went from the lowest in the group to the highest (overall) with 3 stars. Among the problems discovered during the test was delayed airbag deployment and insufficient seatbelt restraint which was resolved with the software upgrade!

Thats off of the wikipedia website!

There is a front sensor/calibration issue with this test. The passenger side clearly shows the airbag deploys too late, over the head of the occupant.

these things failed euro ncap even the chinese cars out did this. However they've been re tested as that was a faulty model and got a 2 stars out of 5 witch is sitll not good unuth. And its a nissan...you'd expect better.
