Hey everyone :D been having a tiny bit of a issue with drivers on the killer networks. when i put new windows on get everything set up pluged in, when i put my lan cable in i get no net. you have to install it first from the drivers disk. then update, or thats what ive had to do. so be warned if your getting this mobo keep hold of your driver disk.

@shalva98 You can't, because a 6990 already have 2 6970's. So basically it's already in crossfire, it's just that it's underclocked compared to have 2 actual 6970's. But the 6990 has a bios switch which -at your own risk- can unlock the 2 6970 cores and have the same performance.

Those side usb3/audio/fan connectors are very close to that bottom pci-e slot which could prevent a gfx card from being used there!

@kamikadze74 It won't my friend. 2600k is the 1155 socket and this MOBO requires a 1366. You would need the I-7s 1366 socket 950,960,970,980, and the 990 which is about $1000 bones right now.

@rubikguyftw Yeah, its a nine slot, not a 7. I thought I had deleted the comment when I realized that. Still it should fit any full tower ATX case, might just need a different back plane. Maybe not though , since it only actually has 7 slots. Its the size of a nine, but only has 7, the mounting holes also line up the same as a regular 7 slot ATX. So most likely it will fit any full tower ATX case.

I don't understand why Linus says never use the disk.  How are you suppose to connect to the internet to do so. Look when install a new mother board, use the disk. Insert disk, choose advanced options, and only select to instal the LAN drivers. Reason being, it allows you to get on, and then download the latest drivers. I can't believe how many people email me asking for help on this one. If you install a new video card obviously you on' need the disk, and your already connected. Good Luck

If I buy this motherboard I'll have to buy the HAF X case because that's the only case on the market that could even accommodate this gigantic board but I think I finally found the solution to my problem, it's the new ASUS Rampage III Extreme Black Edition. That motherboard both looks amazing and has lots of features and above all it's an EATX motherboard :)

@reuben123345 no i think you would have to put it in pci-e slots 1 and 2, but i would put them in slots 1 and 3 for better cooling, but i dont think thats possible to put them in slot 1 and 4; could be done i just dont think that the pcie slots work that way.
