  • Sweden got healthcare for everyone and we are pretty wealthy because of that, it has not done us to communist or a super social country. But i do understand the feeling when your money flew away which are suppose to be payed for food or your house. I guess it's wrong time to make healthcare for everyone in U.S.A right now because of the financial crises. I hope you get what i meant.

  • Show me a republican and I'll show you a WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF BIG BUSINESS. The Republican Party is a Joke.. Sadly, a long long time ago you were a viable group with the people's best interest at heart. Today, you are the party for the rich. Today, you are a joke and an insult.

  • Now that the bill has passed, and the dems are faring far better than the republicans over this, I wonder just how boehner is feeling just about now? Hope the good people in the 8th district of Ohio will find a much better person to represent them next time around!! I know many republicans must now truly be worried about the next elections.

YES WE CAN, boehner & the rest of the "no" saying republicans, vote your sorry ***** out of office! Can't wait!

Yes, we can & YES, we did!!!!

  • 2/24/10: Did you think that, because Obama has called for a "bipartisan healthcare reform summit" on February 25th, that the Democrats were serious about starting over and including the Republicans' ideas in their plans? WRONG! ...

  • According to liberal bastionThe New York Times, "President Obama will put forward comprehensive health care legislation intended to bridge differences between Senate and House Democrats ahead of a summit meeting with Republicans next week, senior administration officials and Congressional aides said Thursday." But that's not all they're reporting...

  • Democratic officials said the president's proposal was being written so that it could be attached to a budget bill as a way of averting a Republican filibuster in the Senate...

  • The procedure, known as budget reconciliation, would let Democrats advance the bill with a simple majority rather than a 60-vote supermajority. So, in other words, Obama is lying about compromising on his healthcare plans, and Reid and Pelosi are preparing to use a parliamentary trick to ram ObamaCare down the throats of the American people...

  • Here's the "trick" that Obama, Pelosi and Reid are planning to use to ram ObamaCare through: it's called "reconciliation." As the Wall Street Journal explains, "House Democrats would pass a series of 'fixes' to the Senate bill. The Senate would then pass the House reconciliation bill, sending amendments to President Obama to a bill that -- strictly speaking -- didn't exist, because it hadn't yet emerged from the House...

  • The House would then retroactively pass the Senate bill as is." So by using the "reconciliation" process, the Senate will only need 51 votes to pass their socialized healthcare bill...

  • Regardless of the fact that the biggest reason Republican Scott Brown was elected to Ted Kennedy's old Senate seat was because he promised to help kill ObamaCare -- Democrats are still willing to use more corrupt tactics to get it passed...

  • In fact, the liberals on the far left have their own interpretation of why Brown won: "people want more change... bolder change... more populism... and the public option is that in this healthcare fight." They state very clearly that the socialized healthcare "public option" is "back on the table" and will be passed by using the "reconciliation process" -- because [in their minds], that's what "Americans want." ...

  • It's just plain insulting that the Democrats would be having a bipartisan summit down at the White House if they've already decided on this other process by which they're going to jam the bill through Congress...

  • How stupid do they think the American people are? Are they serious about using this trick to pass their bill? You BET they are. Nancy Pelosi, on a conference call with bloggers, said, "We will not be deterred from this course of getting something done one way or another, and I'm hoping it will... be mainly by passing the comprehensive bill. That's our plan." ...

  • Charles Rangel (D-New York) stated that they are looking to start the process soon, and that he believed both chambers could muster the votes needed for passage, despite virtually unanimous GOP opposition. And Harry Reid said a scenario in which the House produces a reconciliation package "seems like a strong possibility." ...

  • In fact, as of Thursday afternoon, 17 Senate Democrats were pushing Reid to use reconciliation rules to sidestep a Republican filibuster of health care reform. (We CAN still stop ObamaCare, by STOPPING the Democrats from using the "reconciliation" parliamentary trick.)...

  • It's obvious that Obama and House and Senate Democrats intend their proposed "healthcare reform summit" as a public display and NOT a genuine dialogue. But their game has been exposed...

  • Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl of Arizona told CNN that "they've devised the process by which they can jam the bill through that the president has supported in the past, without Republican ideas in it." But the problem, Kyl said, is that "reconciliation is not the process for comprehensive bills like this. It's for balancing the budget." ...

  • House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the release of Obama's health care proposal ahead of Thursday's televised discussion among the president, Democrats, and select Republicans could be counterproductive...

  • He also said pro-life legislators are committed to creating legislation that reflects what Americans want in health care reform. "Republicans are also standing with the American people by calling for health care reform to protect human life and not use taxpayer money to fund abortion," Boehner said in a statement...

  • "The Republican bill would codify the Hyde Amendment and prohibit all authorized and appropriated federal funds from being used to pay for abortion, which the President's proposal would allow. Pro-life Democrats in the House have already pledged to vote against this provision," said Boehner. "Health care reform should be an opportunity to protect human life--not end it--and the American people agree."

  • The State of Union is not a give and take answer session. Have some respect so others can respect you. As a republican I do not like the party looking like fools and liars. I prefer honest of heart and intelligence of minds and patriotic politicians not bickering children. Now carry on like a man!

  • This bonehead held up a copy of the constitution and quoted from the Declaration of Independence, attributing the remarks to the constitution.

The fool doesn't even know the difference.

  • 2/24/10: Weeks ahead of Thursday's "bipartisan" meeting on health care reform, House Republicans offered their ideas to Obama in a booklet presented to the president during his visit to the Republican Party retreat in Baltimore on January 29...

  • The 27-page booklet includes proposals on health care as well as other issues Republicans consider vital to America's continued prosperity: jobs, fiscal responsibility, open government and transparency, energy, savings, national security and fiscal reform...

  • I am ashamed to be a Democrat. More than that, I have come to fear my own party. Hatred and corruption - the roots of fascism - are on the march in America as they have never been before, and leading this march is the Democratic Party. Increasingly, mainstream Democrats are uncomfortable with what we see in our party. We may not have a real name for it, but we know it is dangerous.

  • Middle-class families are looking for more than empty promises. They want to go back to work. And they want the Democrats who run Washington to stop pursuing a big government, big spending agenda that includes a government takeover of health care, stimulus bills, a new national energy tax and taxpayer-funded bailouts. The recent elections in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey have shown that voters aren't buying this rhetoric, and in November well see voters aren't buying it either.

  • It is PAST time to stop all nonsense such as Nancy Pelosi's 'climbing over the fence or parachuting in' comments to SHOVE their plans down the collective throats of all Americans!

As the mayor of Las Vegas said, 'the president is a slow learner' - well, so are the two Democrat leaders. Let's hope they all wake up soon and pay attention to THEIR CONSTITUENTS, the hard-working, tax-paying AMERICANS!!!!

If not, you had better start updating your resumes, folks!

  • @2fmr98 They don't need a resume. If they can get these proposals passed, they own hundreds of thousands in stock and will make a killing off of it...even if the stock options are reduced. How do you lose when the people are forced to buy a product and you own 1/2 million in stock?

  • 2/24/10: We don't believe that there is any chance of stopping Obama's renewed push for his horrible healthcare changes in the Senate. Harry Reid is going to use the reconciliation procedure to jam it through with 51 votes -- and he will get them. All the hype about how difficult it will be is to distract us from the real battle which will come in the House...

  • There, where every member faces re-election, it will be a lot harder for Pelosi to round up the vote she needs. Last time she passed healthcare by 220-215. This time, it won't be so easy. Ads have been produced targeting these swing Congressmen and Congresswomen below. If you live in any of the states from which these swing Congressmen and Congresswomen come, please call them. Let them know your opposition to healthcare changes. The phone for Congress is 202-224-3121.

  • Here's the list: Vulnerable Democratic Congressmen Who Voted FOR Obamacare The First Time Around: These are the folks we need to pressure to switch their votes! Arizona: Harry Mitchell (Phoenix suburbs), Gabrielle Giffords (Tucson), Ann Kirkpatrick (most of rural Arizona, NE part of state). California: Jerry McNerney (Stockton and Pleasanton). Colorado: John Salazar (Pueblo). Connecticut: Jim Hines (Fairfield County). Florida: Alan Grayson (Orlando)...

  • Illinois: Bill Foster (Dixon, Batavia, and Geneseo). Indiana: Baron Hill (from Kentucky border up to Bloomington). Michigan: Mark Schauer (Branch, Calhoun, Eaton, Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee & Washtenaw counties), Gary Peters (Oakland County). Nevada: Dina Titus (Las Vegas)...

  • New Hampshire: Carol Shea-Porter (Portsmouth, Manchester, Lakes Region). New York: Tim Bishop (Suffolk County), John Hall (Northern Westchester), Bill Owens (Plattsburgh up along Vermont border to Canada), Mike Arcuri (Utica and south central NY), Dan Maffei (Syracuse). North Dakota: Earl Pomneroy (at large). Ohio: Steven Driehaus (Cincinnati west to Indiana border), Mary Jo Kilroy (Columbus and west to Indiana border), Zach Space (Dover, Zanesville, Chillicothe)...

West Virginia: Alan Mollohan (Wheeling, Morgantown), Nick Rahall (Huntington). Wisconsin: Steve Kagen (Green Bay). Let's get busy to save healthcare in America!!!

  • I'm afraid you are right there. They are sending out questionaires that only suggest part of the proposals they know people do agree with, then say, "See people agree with out proposals so as to make people think they don' t understand the issues. Their half truths scams are uncovered though. We read the bills, we read even Obama's proposal Pdf the WH put out. I don't agree with them. Period. I've been too long in the healthcare institution to fall for that.

    They will ram it through.

  • If Obama and the the far left and radical Obama Democrats ram it through, they'll all also be ramming themselves out of office when Americans vote, as has already been proven to be true in Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and the list is getting longer...

  • Perhaps with the new senator's swearing in ceremony tomorrow, the administration and the congressional leadership will decide to actually take a look at some of the COMMON SENSE solutions the Republicans have been trying to share with them!

Perhaps the arrogance exhibited by the leaders of both houses of Congress will be toned down just a tad! I certainly hope so!

  • Toyota has had many serious problems in the past and was alway's reluctant to fix them. This fly by wire gas pedal is even more dangerous! They still want to rig a fix on it and I dont believe they are doing right for the American people. Why does an elected offical have to appologize or reillerate statment's like people should stop driving Toyota's? I think should even stop buying toyota's and buy American car's! They alway's blame the few american suppliers anyway.

  • Several cars made by Toyota are made in America. Buy American? GM made in Mexico and China. In fact since the government take over they have been planning to move more manufacturing to China instead of staying here in the US.

Also what does Toyota recall have to do with this video anyway.

  • I'll give a little credit for that statement. Most Foriegn brand's are assembled here in USA from over sea's part's.

  • Thanks for the info, Congressman Boehner. :-)

  • Thank you John, a good man ! Getting better looking everyday!

  • kmg: You still on that soapbox? Keep up the spam. That's what I've come to expect.

Republicans have offered solutions yet somehow you like casting them in a bad light. Oddly enough you then claim to have wised up when in reality you are doing what almost everyone else is doing.

In 2010 if Ron Paul is our only choice I won't vote at all unless the dems have someone better.

  • @kmg501 Replace them all ;-)

  • Thank you sir!

  • Thank you!

  • Absolutely! Positively! By all means -(especially Republicans in Ohio)- LOOK IT UP, and download it. You'll find fewer than three dozen pages of generalities and talking-points.

  • @voyeurdug Whereas the democrat plan is thousands of pages detailing how you will be screwed by the federal government. Do I really want a bureaucracy telling me when and where I can receive my health care along with the myriad of other "services", that you and I will be taxed to death in order to support?

  • As opposed to thousands of pages of ignorance and talking points?
