I know Pope John Paul II caught a lot of flack when the RC Churh came out and admitted that they were wrong and Galileo was correct (about heliocentrics/geocentricsim). Anyone know if the Lutherans and Protestants have come out also and admitted they too were wrong.

Hi everyone. I live in Las Vegas. I was raised worldly and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour in about 1990. In '92 I joined the Baptists (SBC net) and eventually that dried out. I tried a non-denom. church but they grow so fast and furiously in LV that it became all convoluted in method and purpose. I have seen the Lutherans buy land and build churches over those 19 years and I may join one just because they have method and competency. They are good for a city of 2 million.

Of course, we have to condemn Luther's anti-Semitism- bec Hitler used this very fact to proceed with the Holocaust. Since Germans glorify Luther as their holiest man - obviously they thought GOD was on their side. Luther's anti-semitism was a carry over from his former catholocism and his inability to see that Christians are chosen by God, not made. He was trying to force conversion and that is not how it works. Secondly, Luther, like other reformers was a man of passion. He let his passions carry him away. I don't mean to say he was not a Christian but it is a glaring error. But then, we are all sinners with no righteousness of our own aren't we.

By standing up for what was right, he risked his own life! He essentially shook the Pope on his throne in Vatican City/Rome without even touching the Pope! Im a Filipino Lutheran... Some of us here are taught(essentially but not in fact) that the division between ElCa and Missouri Synod was based soley about key Biblical doctrine, specially regarding the "verbal inspiration of the Bible" meaning its word for word literrally and figuratively inspired by the Holy Spirit thru the writers....
