I know Pope John Paul II caught a lot of flack when the RC Churh came out and admitted that they were wrong and Galileo was correct (about heliocentrics/geocentricsim). Anyone know if the Lutherans and Protestants have come out also and admitted they too were wrong.
There is no god. Mainline Protestantism is melting away faster than the ice caps and you're just not that interesting anymore. There's no reason for anyone who's interested in politics to take an interest in you; why bother to run twice as fast and get to the same place?
Dear ELCA im missouri synod and i cant watch this...........you have gone too far from chruch and too close to the gov't...............please come back
My niece is being brainwashed by this racist, anti-semitic cult. Congratulations lutherans. Your prophet, Martin Luther, sought the extermination of Jews, and wanted all evidence of them wiped off the sheets of history. Hitler's SS were almost primarily lutheran.
@greengaurd So why don't you embrace Judaism? Do you believe your Christian belief is correct, and Judaism is wrong?...and those who are wrong burn in hell for eternity. BTW, many people of faith are religious members of circumstance. Hindu's raised by Hindu's, raised in Hindu communities that are thousands of years old...Buddhists, Japanese Shinto, Rasta's, Sikhs, Muslims, Pagans etc etc...Why do Christians believe these people BURN FOREVER in a lake of fire?
@HelloWalterSobchak No i never said judaism is wrong, and where did you come up with saying that christians believe all other religions should perish????
Guys ! do you know that there is 4 to 5 countries which are totally Lutheran dominant. They are Denmark ,Sweden ,Norway,Namibia and Estonia and Also there is sizable Lutheran Population in many countries.
So guys ! Are you Proud to be Lutheran ? 'cause I'm Proud.(I 'm from India)
The Nazis used the teachings of Martin Luther. He believed they were of the devil and formulated an eight point plan for their extermination. Among other things, Luther advocated taking the Jews property, destroying their holy books and churches, and that killing them should not be a crime. Look up On the Jews and Their Lies, 1543, by Martin Luther (1483-1546).
Adolf Hitler himself was Catholic. The hate that Protestants advocate also extends to their hate and lies about atheists.

Just think of all the children who have been sexually molested by church authorities and priests. Jesus started a very evil religion. It is a good thing they exterminated before he did more damage.
Hi everyone. I live in Las Vegas. I was raised worldly and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour in about 1990. In '92 I joined the Baptists (SBC net) and eventually that dried out. I tried a non-denom. church but they grow so fast and furiously in LV that it became all convoluted in method and purpose. I have seen the Lutherans buy land and build churches over those 19 years and I may join one just because they have method and competency. They are good for a city of 2 million.

Of course, we have to condemn Luther's anti-Semitism- bec Hitler used this very fact to proceed with the Holocaust. Since Germans glorify Luther as their holiest man - obviously they thought GOD was on their side. Hatred agst Jews or any other race for that matter is anti-GOD and goes agst the teachings of Christ who said LOVE GOD and your NEIGHBOUR! How can Protestants condemn Catholics when their own founder had such false doctrines that went against the essence of the BIble itseff?
Luther's anti-semitism was a carry over from his former catholocism and his inability to see that Christians are chosen by God, not made. He was trying to force conversion and that is not how it works. Secondly, Luther, like other reformers was a man of passion. He let his passions carry him away. I don't mean to say he was not a Christian but it is a glaring error. But then, we are all sinners with no righteousness of our own aren't we.
The Church Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on April 18, 1994, adopted a statement on Lutheran-Jewish relations, which you can read online.
Martin Luther, founder of the Lutheran Church. Swell Guy Indeed. Be sure to check out Luther's Anti-Semetic writings in his blockbuster pre-nazi book 'On the Jews and Their Lies' (1543). Not far from 'Hitler's Table Talk' with regard to Jew hating.
On the Jews and Their Lies (German: Von den Juden und ihren Lügen) is a treatise written in January 1543 by Martin Luther, the German theologian, in which he advocated harsh persecution of the Jewish people, including that their synagogues and schools be set on fire, prayer books destroyed, rabbis forbidden to preach, homes razed, and property and money confiscated.
Four centuries later, the Nazis used quotations from this pamphlet (Luther's On the Jews and Their Lies), which was cited by the publisher of the Nazi newspaper Der Stürmer during the Nuremberg trials, [4] to justify the Final Solution.
Luther was a man of his time, the Jews faced European opposition (particularly from the Spanish) for quite some time. His Anti-Semitism should be recognized and condemned, but that doesn't soil the validity of his theology.
Henry Ford was a virulent anti-Semite as well, but does that mean we should condemn all of his contributions to the auto industry?
@BellumOmnium71 Yes he was a man of his time and a man that everyone owes gratitude today. He was a former Catholic who saw the corruption in the Catholic church and left it! By standing up for what was right, he risked his own life! He essentially shook the Pope on his throne in Vatican City/Rome without even touching the Pope! The Catholic church was the big enemy of the Jews! The Jews were treated better by the Protestants! Luther is misunderstood with what is deemed anti-semitic!
Im a Filipino Lutheran... Some of us here are taught(essentially but not in fact) that the division between ElCa and Missouri Synod was based soley about key Biblical doctrine, specially regarding the "verbal inspiration of the Bible" meaning its word for word literrally and figuratively inspired by the Holy Spirit thru the writers....

je voudrais citer ici le livre de Lucie Kaennel: Luther était-il antisémite? (Genève: Labor & Fides, collection Entrée libre, 1997).
"Luther était-il antisémite? Question embarrassante, question tabou, question polémique.
Le débat a eu lieu, au moment du procès de Nuremberg, quand certains criminels de guerre du III e Reich se sont réclamés, dans leur action, de la pensée du grand Réformateur allemand.....
