God's love & mercy endures forever. If He sentenced people to an eternity in Hell, how could His love & mercy endure forever? The Scriptures do not teach eternal punishment. God will judge fairly, as He sees fit.
What bothers me is blatant ignorance that this "pastor" spews. At least from this video he reminds me all that is wrong with Christianity. R.C. Sproul's theology is so basic and so surface level that it can't be considered intellectual at all. I'm not saying that Rob Bell is there yet, he's still young. Maybe you should look into theologians like Jurgen Moltmann, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Karl Barth. Reveal the true love of the Gospel. In a way that R.C Sproul and this man above forgot long ago.
@tbw980371 No, you're just pissed because somebody soke out against your savior, lord Bell. Say what you like about Sproul but he's forgotten more about theology that Rob Bell will ever know.
@gtrjunky Your so blind, its really mind boggling. You completely disregard my last comment because you know i'm right. And yes R.C Sproul has forgotten a lot about theology. Your the one calling Rob Bell lord not me.
@tbw980371 I was blind but now I see. I don't need to defend Dr.Sproul, his track record speaks for itself and the illinformed musings of some punk aren't going to tarnish it. You just keep following your savior, lord Bell.
@gtrjunky Even Christians can be blind sometimes, following Christ is a growth process. I'm just defending my Christian brethren who though I disagree with them on some points I know that we have the same Lord, Jesus Christ. Christians do not have to agree on everything. I seriously suggest that you look into the theologians I listed. And I hope that the Pastor above will become more open minded towards his fellow Christians. Even though he disagrees with them, its no reason to hate someone.
@tbw980371 I wouldn't wipe my butt with the writings of Moltmann and there is no biblical mandate to call everyone "bretheren" particularly when they preach false gospels.
@gtrjunky Have you ever read anything by him for yourself? He's brilliant, it requires a fair bit of knowledge to read his stuff but its SO biblical. You ever read the Crucified God? Its pretty much the standard of modern theology. Christians have never agreed even from the beginning on every verse of scripture and its meaning. And Rob Bell believes that Jesus died on the cross, rose bodily from the dead after three days and ascended to heaven. That makes him a Christian and therefore my brother
@tbw980371 There are lots of "brilliant" lost people and I know enough about him to know that his writings aren't necessary for correction and training in righteousness.
@gtrjunky Your choosing ignorance, search for truth that's what i'm telling you. Don't let fundamentalist preachers spoon feed it to you. They are right about some things. Read things for yourself trust me its better to know more about it than to be ignorant. And look at it this way. You hate Moltmann, and if you read something by him for once maybe you will like him, or maybe it will give you more of a reason to hate him. Who knows
@tbw980371 No, I'm choosing to stick to what Jesus said and let Him feed me. You may be able to shovel all kinds of crap by the likes of people like Bell and Moltmann but that is meaningless. No, I don't "hate" the man because I don't know him and your use of that term reveals your immaturity and ignorance.
@gtrjunky It shows your immaturity when you called me stupid. I let the living God fill me up, and its very ignorant of you to assume that Jesus isn't my Lord based on opinions of things that you haven't even read. Your reading others opinions and taking them as your own. That is ignorant. Would you prefer me to use the term, highly dislike then?
@gtrjunky And you base all your claims, what you think is smart, what you think is true on what? The Bible? I think you have been taught to pick and choose what is most important in the Bible and say that it is the correct and only interpretation. Despite the fallacious logic you use for your purpose of trying to have power over God, it's not possible. You turn salvation into a club system. Who is in and who is out, when that's not what Jesus calls us to do at all.
@tbw980371 "Turn salvation into a club system" Hmmm..as if that has anything to do with your FALLACIOUS accusations against the guy in this video. Try and stay on topic instead of throwing rocks. You're all over the map.
@gtrjunky Your completely lost. I'm going to stop this conversation before I say something that shatters your faith. But before I go I would like to thank you for stealing the word I used to describe you. And I would also like to say that the guy in this video couldn't be more wrong and more self righteous. You brought the conversation in this direction, I just finished it. You can't answer any of my questions, or you have refused to answer them. So this conversation is going nowhere.
@tbw980371 Don't flatter yourself you bumbling fool. There aren't enough words in existance for an idiot like you to shatter my faith. You can'a answer my question about your lord Moltmann and his man made theories that he eisegetes into the word of God. Get off your high horse you pathetic fool!
@gtrjunky Your the most hypocritical person Ive ever seen on youtube or any blog. And in order for me to answer your question you need to define your terms. Because clearly you lack a lot of knowledge in theology. I'm just trying to figure out how you got so brainwashed. You lack the intellectual capacity to deal with what I'm saying to you. And trust me, your a fundamentalist, its very possible. And when you can spell exegetical right maybe I'll start taking you seriously.
@gtrjunky Even when you try to correct me you still spell it wrong, So I'm the joke for wanted to know why your so brain washed? hmmm, I've been trying to this whole time. I'm not the one who is so proud of being narrow minded. Also, side note. Your resulting to words like sham and joke because you lack the ability to prove me wrong as well as think of a decent insult.
@gtrjunky Read my comments and you'll see you are much lower even than that. Your presuppositions have played you false. And go ahead and judge me without knowing me, it doesn't matter to me.
@tbw980371 If mean that I hold to the fundamentals of what Christ taught then yes. Most often those that throw the term "fundamentalist" around are those who despise the word of God and substitute it for the sophistry and musings of lost liberals who seek to justify their sinful lifestyles.
@gtrjunky Fundamentalist as is, believing in what was crafted in the 12 pamphlets called the fundamentals. Which were written in the past century. So your belief system is pretty new. Unless your reformed which just means you started after the reformation, meaning your Calvin's tulip is influenced more from Greek philosophy than of the Bible. There are things that are debatable however. And your conservative was once the liberal. Its a good history lesson.
@tbw980371 Well those are all just red herrings. Perhaps you can make your point from scripture? No...I doubt that. Liberals don't use scripture, they talk about everything BUT scipture.
@gtrjunky What I said is the truth, that's why you didn't fight it. And I have plenty of scripture to back up what I say. But I don't conform it to dogmatic systems like you do. I don't like to pretend like God fits in a box like you do. Let me remind you again that your philosophy, the way you read scripture is defined by Greek philosophy. So even though you occasionally use scripture you twist its meaning into what you want. Just some food for thought.
@tbw980371 Don't fight what? What did you say that's truth? Nothing, Zip, Nadda! The way I read scripture is the way it's written and your regurgitaion of Brian MacLaren will not prove your point. You can say that all you like but there is no proof to support your illinformed claim.
@gtrjunky Your probably the most ignorant person Ive ever talked to in my life. And I have only read one thing by him, it would be wrong to say I am influenced by him when I'm not. And the truth that your not biblical but Greek. Come on, at least try to keep up with me here.
@tbw980371 Trust me boy, you aren't the first to make this mythological claim about "my biblical interpretation is based on greek blah, blah. blah" Crap. You're a broken record. You haven't a tiddle of proof to suport this..at all!
@gtrjunky Discernment? You mean blind acceptance of irrelevant doctrine? And we both know that there is proof, you just don't read so your not aware of anything outside your worldview. Start reading something and maybe you will find the truth. Don't just read a selection of verses out of the bible and say that its what the entire bible says. but you won't because your proud of the narrow mindedness.
@tbw980371 I wish I could see you face to face so that I could laugh, scoff and make a mockery of you in person. See I know the drill with you liberal dogs. You read the musings of some liberal "scholar" and then go looking for some simple minded "fundie" so that you can tell him that everything he's been taight is wrong. VIOLA! You have your open door to then tell him what the bible "really means". Then if they don't listen. you say that they are "narrow minded"...
@gtrjunky Your so filled with hate where is Christ in you? Nowhere. Liberal dogs? You think Jesus feels the way you do about your fellow man? You are a pharisee not in knowledge or experience because you have neither. But in spirit. You expect everyone to abide by the dogma you mix the bible and Greek mythology to obtain and if someone doesn't agree with you about every little detail you call them a false teacher. Its people like you that crucified Jesus. You are narrow minded, you admit it.
@tbw980371 If I were standing in front of you with a Moltmann book, I would tear the pages out, one at a time and shove them down the back of my pants and give my butt a good scrub with them. Since you cannot demonstrate that my theology is influenced by greek philosophy then I will symbolically do the same thing with your musings.
@gtrjunky You mean the books that you know nothing about besides the lies you have been parroting all your life? You just repeat what you have been taught even though you have no idea what it actually means to learn something for yourself and formulate your own opinion? Your a robot. You probably don't even know what the word symbolically means because you didn't graduate high school. I will demonstrate then, I answer your questions even though you don't answer mine.
@gtrjunky Read the play about Oedipus, or the anything about the 3 fates in Greek Mythology. Or Aristotle or Plato. Contrast that with the Hebrew writings of the old testament, and the gospels themselves. When you are reading them make an attempt to remove your presumptuousness methods. At the end of it you will see that the idea of Destiny of an absolute fate didn't exist in the Hebrew or early Christian mindset. And that it was only through Hellenization that some Christians moved that way.
@tbw980371 So that's it? Those are your "examples"? So what you're trying to say then is that the bible is plagerized from greek mythos?
Nice try jackass. You're the "robot" regurgitating the jackassery of nubskull liberals and trying to make yourself sound educated. There could possibly be things that could classify as similarities in those writings but so what. That doesn't prove anything as far as biblical interpretation. You have failed to make your point.
@tbw980371 See maybe in about 10 or 15 years, you're going to start to grow up (God willing) and you'll realize that the older you get, the more you realize how much you didn't know when you were younger. I remember when I was 20 and thought that I knew so much but the fact is that you're just a wet behind the ears, know it all punk who peddles the writings of men and ignores the word of God.
@tbw980371 See, believers DID in fact have the hope and concept of an absolute fate and if you had just read the book of Hebrews you wouldn't look so stupid right now. I'm not going to give you the chapter and verse number because you really need to find it for yourself.
@gtrjunky Once again if you knew anything about the scriptures you wouldn't use my age to puff yourself up. Its funny how much of your life has gone into a trash can while I've actually done something with my life so far, I know quite a bit more than you do. Your ignorant your a crazy fundamentalist who doesn't know a thing about what God actually is trying to say. Your argument is circular. You haven't proven anything I've said is wrong. You just call me a jackass and 20 and then say you won.
@gtrjunky You prove yourself a fool because you are a fool When I give a decent insult to you All you do is fling it right back at me, shows how smart you are. It all just proves that you didn't graduate from high school. And if you did you were at the bottom of your class. Don't even get me started on if you have a family...poor kids. And you would know the difference between a star wars, once again your ignorant, and a Greek play. I mean come on. A lot of star wars was patterned after the bible
@tbw980371 You prove yourself a fool by exalting the writings of men and making the word of god subject to them. You are still a FAILURE to prove your point and it makes sense that you stay away from the scriptures because they are always the death of humanistic philosophy. Whether or not I graduated high school or went to college is irrelevant because the proof is in the pudding and so far your pudding cup is EMPTY.
@gtrjunky You didn't demonstrate anything. My point relies on the idea of you reading something, which isn't going to happen. And no if you knew anything those aren't the only examples. And the examples themselves aren't just one book each. You would know that if you weren't ignorant. And who said the love of Christ was a Greek interpretation? You have completely lost it. And furthermore I did not hint at the bible plagiarizing from anything. This is what I mean when I say you read into things
@tbw980371 Now rather than trying to prove your point by finding similaritires in ancient stories (which BTW could be done in many movies, not just Star Wars). Do it with concrete evidence...K?
@gtrjunky You don't even know what concrete evidence is! You need to look stuff up! because someone brainwashed the crap out of you when you were a child and you never grew out of it. Live in the now! You don't even know the bible! You probably have only read what your pastor told you to. Your hopeless. And I hope God has mercy on you. There is not a redeeming quality in anything that I have seen from you. And you can't call me out on ad hominem, oh wait, your a hypocrite. Now it makes sense.
@tbw980371 Yes, concrete evidence is the word of God...you know, that thing that you don't appeal to? Thus far you've been WRONG on at least two counts all because you failed to simply read God's word, trust it and believe it.
@tbw980371 You came on here with the thoughtless accusation that this fellow in the video somehow "hates" Rob Bell because he did the biblical thing and warned fellow believers about his false teachings and he did it in a loving, humble way. I don't know how much nicer a person could be. Your assessment of him was uninformed and juvinile.
@gtrjunky It was informed and mature. I stick to my original posting saying that he is jealous and worried that his brainwashed mind will be trampled on. Rob Bell, who has his faults has more talent as a Pastor and a communicator that the man in this video ever will. If you actually listened to his despriction of how he runs church and how he deals with people's sin. It all traces back to the Bible. Which you never read faithfully
@tbw980371 Your original posting shows what a jackass you are. You're a stupid punk with an opinion to shove down the throats of those who will tolerate it. I won't!
@tbw980371 I don't need to read Aristotle. As I said, finding similarities in other writings doesn't prove your point. I can watch Spiderman or the X-men and find "similarities" as well.
@tbw980371 Take the "dialectic synthesis" for example...not a biblical principle but with a few back flips and some twisting and bending I'm sure one could squeeze it in there.
@gtrjunky Yeah you do a lot of mental back flips to convince yourself that there is no Greek philosophy in reformed theology. Which too bad for you its not just similarities, its quotes. If you had actually read, Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin. You would know that he quotes Aristotle he quotes Plato. He quotes Socrates. etc. And not to bash them or prove them wrong. Nope, he quotes them as having authority on the matters of how God works and in matters of Philosophy.
@tbw980371 I don't have to, it's an empty accusation. I mean I can invent theories and apply them to you. I could say that the reason you reject reformed theology is because your from the UK and in the UK there's alot of homosexuals and you're influenced by them.
@tbw980371 So what if he quotes them? I quoted a chinese proverb to a friend the other day but that doesn't make me a buddhist. What was the context of his reference? Paul quoted the corinthians but so what? Sorry, but you still fail. Sovereign Grace is a biblical concept and there's nothing you can do to erase it.
@tbw980371 As I said, I've heard this crap before and at the heart of it is really some jackass who wants to undermine God's word so that they can tell people what the bible "really means". It's very gnostic in nature.
@gtrjunky You asked a question!! hooray! ?You know there's actually quite a lot about you on youtube that's negative haha But he was appealing to their philosophy of what Aristotle had determined to be what God is like. He references Plato as well because Plato talked at length about what the divine nature would look like. (These are non-Christians by the way) So Calvin had this Greek philosophy and then read it into the bible. Its funny that you mention Gnosticism, its very Greek.
@tbw980371 See, you still haven't made your point because everything you just said isn't found in the text. Paul was simply throwing their own assesment back in their face. What you FAIL to demonstrate is how greek philosophy influenced the christian faith and not the other way around. See, there have been people from all sorts of religions that come to faith in Christ and they forsake their previous beliefs for the knowledge of Christ (as Paul said and did)...
@gtrjunky "ill-informed" haha talking about yourself? And yes God IS your judge. haha you have the amazing ability to ignore facts. Like everything I just said about Calvin being influenced by Greek philosophy, you ignored it, that or you don't comprehend basic information. Everything I said is found in Calvin's systematic theology. Thus its his interpretation of the Bible and yours as well. I didn't say Greek philosophy influenced the Bible I said it influenced Calvin and his interpretation.
@tbw980371 I don't ignore "facts", I ignore the musings of those who disregard God's word and that would include you.. See you confuse your own unsubstantiated musings as "facts" but since you aren't one of the apostles nor are you the Lord then pretty much everything you say that contradicts it can be equated with fecal matter. No...fecal matter is of greater value.
@gtrjunky You ignore facts face it. I don't have a problem with the Bible I love the Bible. What I have a problem with is your interpretation of it. And how you claim that its the one and only interpretation of it. A claim that many people have made through the years the Bible has existed. And it led to many atrocities. Even by Calvin himself.
@tbw980371 What "facts"? Your empty liberal assertions? Of course I ignore them. A fact is something based on evidence not conjecture or eisegesis. You have directly contradicted the scriptures at least twice and you exoect me to listren to anything you say as though it's credible? Take a long walk off a short pier!
@tbw980371 I relish facts which is paret of the reason I am a believer. I reject lies, conjecture and human reason because I used to think that way. What you and your handlers want is for people like me to surrender to your unfounded nonsense and say "please tell me what the bible means sir?"
@tbw980371 Of course yo won't say that you're doubting the bible, you'll just say that you doubt man's ability to undertsand it rightly. See how that works? You're off the hook. You can claim to trust God's word while subjecting others to doubt. Very clever but it's really the oldest lie in the book. Lucifer tempted Eve by saying "did God really say..? No, what He meant was ____________".
@tbw980371 Perhaps you'd like to try and tell me again that Paul didn't write the epistles to Timothy? Maybe you'd like to try again and tell me that Jews didn't think about their eternal fate?
@tbw980371 How's that "devastating news" that's going to "shatter my faith" coming along? I noticed on your channel that you say that you love to hear new things that no one has ever heard before? So did the Athenians. You'd fit right in with them.
@gtrjunky Why don't you either turn off message block, or make me your friend on your channel so I can message you. I'm not going to argue on this anymore its not God honoring. I will check later and if you don't let me send you messages then that's completely your choice. Whenever your done with the conversation you can delete me if you feel like that would be beneficial to you. But if there is any more dialogue between us on these subjects then I would like to move them to messages.
@tbw980371 Hmmm, threatening to undermine someone's faith is "God honoring"? No chance chump. You got somthing to say or prove it will be out in the open. Otherwise shove off!
@gtrjunky No its not, I never said my goal was to undermine your faith. I said I'm not the one who is going to do that, that's all I said. I already proved that your Bible interpretation is influenced by words of men. And quite the contrary, your afraid to talk to me anymore. That's the real reason why you don't want to message me. I know I can prove as many things as I can here and there the fact is that even with indisputable proof of fact you still deny it. So message me I can type more there
@tbw980371 Listen BOY, if I were "afraid" I wouldnt have commented to you again. You made an ASSertion that my interpretation was influenced blah blah blah. Not only did you FAIL before but you WILL fail again! The only thing you can prove is that you're a bigger IDIOT than I first though. I defy you to take your best shot boy!
@gtrjunky I succeeded, your just too self conscious to admit that you might be wrong. I think everyone reading these comments can probably tell that you lost a long time ago, to a boy (just to use your language). The fact that you resort to cursing and vulgar language time and time again only confirms that you don't have any argument against what I've said. And you are completely wrong, because i'm the one using logical biblical arguments. And your the one swearing and being immature about it.
@tbw980371 I'm sure in your convoluted mind you thought all kinds of things but meanwhile in this universe, all you did was make some ambiguous generalization that could be done with many stories. You haven't mentioned a single passage of scripture idiot...not one. You have run your mouth about the writings of men and that's it!
@tbw980371 See, my confidence is in God and His word. Your confidence is in the writings of your handlers to tell you what God's word means and now you're trying to find other idiots like you to follow after your pied piper.
@gtrjunky Once again I did prove it, in this universe. You live in your own dimension. I demonstrated that your interpretation of scripture, not scripture itself. Is all laid down in the systematic theology written by John Calvin. I then demonstrated the philosophical lens through which he looks at scripture. I did not quote scripture because I did not need to, my problem wasn't with the Bible it was with your insistence that your interpretation is the only correct one in the world.
@tbw980371 No, you made an ambiguous generalization that anyone could use to "make their case". You also took a quotation from Calvin out of context to support whatever it is that you're trying to say which also means NOTHING! You have to actually demonstrate how this plays out pragmatically and you haven't.
@gtrjunky I demonstrated it to you plain and simple. And it was in context, how can you take using a philosopher to back your theology out of context. It means nothing to you because you have the amazing ability to ignore facts. Calvin was influenced by Plato, fact. And that's why you don't like Moltmann, because he proves Platonic philosophy wrong. And it messes with your theology when he does that.
@tbw980371 See, everyon was influenced by something before Christ got ahold of them and part of the change is when people's minds are transformed FROM the philosophies of the world, not making the bible fit worldly philosophies.
@gtrjunky Yeah but, that's what your doing...making the Bible fit worldly philosophies. And everyone was raised with influences. You were raised with your Platonic Philosophy and that's okay. I'm not condemning your interpretation i'm just saying that you can't claim to be the only one who is right.
@tbw980371 According to what you've been told by your handlers. I am simply reading what it says but you are passing it under the lens of what your handlers have told you. Besides, YOU HAVE YET TO MENTION A SINGLE DOCTRINE OR PASSAGE.
@tbw980371 Are you really that stupid? Do you know how easy it is to take someone's knowledge and insert an idea that "the only reason you understand it that way is because _______". The culture in Jesus day was already surrounded by greek philsophy, so I guess the Holy Spirit was a victim of it too.
@tbw980371 What's funny is when you hear testimonies from people in Napal and Bang Kok and such places that God saves through the simplicity of reading a bible in their own language. Hmmm, no greek influence there. I guess your "theory" FAILS.
@gtrjunky Your still entirely missing what I have been saying this whole time. That comment proves it. When your missionarys go to preach to them. They don't hand them a Bible and tell them to have fun with it. The missionary's influence them. Just like any other denomination.
@gtrjunky I re-read your comment. And I don't see why people in Nepal reading God's word has anything to do with Greek philosophy unless they somehow knew about it like John Calvin did. What exactly do you think my "theory" is?? What haven't you gotten from my comments that leaves you so lacking in understanding of what I have been saying about Calvinism?
@tbw980371 I know this is tough for you to grasp since you are already a "know-it-all" but asserting an assertion without proof is called CONJECTURE. If you can't start with God's word then you have NO FOUNDATION you stupid MORON!
@tbw980371 Please sir...please tell me what the bible really means. I've been so ignorant for the last 23 years, I need some pimple faced punk on Youtube to teach me the truth.
I guess when Paul said that "All scripture was useful_______" that he meant "in addition to the writings of men that you recomend"?
@tbw980371 I'm still waiting to hear where the bible teaches the principles of the "dialectic synthesis"? Oh I know that term didn't exist but certainly Jesus taught this principle by whatever name right?
@gtrjunky I'm done talking to you which is why I didn't reply. And I think your well aware that I have stated more than once that I wasn't planning on giving you a "devastating blow" to your faith. This is a dead end conversation because you have a complete misunderstanding of my intentions.
@gtrjunky You should understand that, Calvinism makes God the author of sin -_0, if your christian, be a nondenominational Christian, Just a Christian who reads the bible in context, saved by Grace alone not works but does right, follows scripture and prays. When you mingle in what others say is biblical, it ends up being wrong, half truth is no truth. watch?v=j1_7e5xPBAc Calvinism is a not accurate biblical understanding.
@Shadowlooker12 Where was the term "Calvinism" ever mentioned? If you want to discuss biblical soteriology then you must understand that it is either synergistic or it's monergistic. Biblically speaking, it's all God's doing ergo it is monergistic. If man has the final say in the matter (synergistic) then that means that there is something about the individual that is either smarter or more humble that he chose God and others did not.
@tbw980371 I'd sure like to know what a "worldly philosophy" is to you. Let's see, depravity of man? Christ's atonement for sin? His resurrection? Funny how the greeks scoffed at those things, but according to you that's where the "influence came from".
@gtrjunky Well since you haven't read anything written back then for yourself. There was a lot of diversity in Greek thought. When I say Greek philosophy I am alluding specifically to, Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle.
And your just doing mental gymnastics to get around my evidence. Do yourself a favor and buy the systematic theology that your interpretation is based off. I'm not a Calvinist and I own one.
@tbw980371 Since I've already expressed very clearly that I see through your so-called "argument", how is it that my "language" could be considered "vulgar"? I haven't used any language that can't be found in scripture...you know that book that haven't appealed to?
@gtrjunky I would very much like to meet your Pastor and have a few words with him about what he is teaching your church. And it is vulgar, we are having a debate and if you have ever been in a real debate or seen one. You would know that the one who can't keep their cool is the one who lost. Usually when someone gets angry they swear. So if we were in a debate, after all that you have said you would have lost. Plain and simple because you don't have any other words to back yourself up. And I do
@tbw980371 My pastor really wouldn't give two turds for the opinion of some child who has been persuaded by the writings of men. Making generlaized, vague assertions based on past influences doesn't make your case. There isn't a single greek phlosophy that you can appeal to that demonstrates the foundation for soverien grace.
@gtrjunky I proved you wrong, and your going to have to deal with the consequences of it. The fact that you call me a child really gets funny especially because of how bad I've beaten you. Why don't you give me your Pastors # and i'll call him?
@tbw980371 What I proved is that unless you are able to undermine God's word (disarm your opponenet) first then you cannot succeed in your argumentation. I'm supposed to wave the white flag and say "please then, tell me what the bible really means". Pretty piss poor assault if you ask me.
@gtrjunky I did give you evidence. Its called, Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin. That book once again is a systematic theology in which your doctrine was laid out principle by principle. And also..once again. I have not undermined God's word in arguing against Calvinism. And I have no "handlers" I was converted from outside the church by the bible. You were taught to think this way though, very different from me And I would use scripture if we were discussing..lets say baptism
@tbw980371 The fact iis, you don't have a damn thing t say to undermine anything. You start with the words of men and make God's word subject to them. You FAIL!!!
@tbw980371 But once again, if you had just read your bible instaed of regurgitating the musings of your handlers then you wouldn't look like such an idiot again.
@gtrjunky And I don't think you have a grasp of what Gnosticism really is. Your not demonstrating a correct understanding nor a shred of insight on it. And if your referring to the first chapter of John...nothing in the prelude has anything to do with anything that I have said. I'll teach you something about it really quick. Gnosticism is Greek, like I said previously. It has more in common with Calvinism than with my theology. Not in common with the bible but with Calvinism.
@tbw980371 Actually I do and there are many facets to it. The one I pointed to was the "special knowledge" aspect of it. Again, thew Holy Spirit is the author of scripture and He isn't subject to the stupidity of man.
@gtrjunky My goal isn't to say that the Holy Spirit was influenced by the Greeks, it doesn't have anything to do with what I have been saying at all. Not once have I said that the Bible has Greek Philosophy in it. Not once have I said anything like that. I did say that Calvin was influenced by Greek Philosophy. And if you think that Calvin was the inheritor of the "perfect" Bible translation then you are sorely wrong His opinions aren't synonymous with the Holy Spirit. Contrary to what you think
@tbw980371 I'm sure you haven't noticed but there's a pattern with your "argumentation". NONE of it is based on God's word. I mean you discuss everything but the kitchen sink. Why? because that's your only foothold...avoid God's word and find ways to undermine it.
@tbw980371 Since the Holy Spirit is the author of all scripture then you're going to have to TRY and say that the Holy Spirit was influenced by greek philosophy. Good luck with that.
@tbw980371 Do you know how many watered down "seeker friendly" churches in the world try to use movies to make "biblical" points? If I really want to, I could use almost any story, TV show or movie to wrench biblical points into. What you CANNOT prove is that modern, interpretaions are the result of greek philosophy.
@gtrjunky So the belief in reformed idea of destiny that I proved was stolen from their Greek predecessors wasn't enough for you? It has nothing to do with the Bible. The reformed doctrine is a result of man's interpretation of the Bible. Not the Bible itself. And I don't know why your on this stream of movies making biblical points it has nothing to do with our conversation. Read Aristotle, his book called metaphysics. Calvinist theology in a nutshell.
@tbw980371 Do yourself a favor and try and think a bit before you speak. Talking about Calvin and Sproul and this and that won't help your cause. Read the bible ok? Sovereign grace is substantiated biblically...all five points.
@tbw980371 "Calvin's" TULIP wasn't Calvin's acronym anyway. Shows how much you know and the doctrines of Grace did not come from greek philosophy they come from scripture...you know that thing that you don't read?
@gtrjunky I was using a modern example of the summarized sample of Calvin's doctrine, Obviously. His theology as a whole is what I speak of. And yes they did, your just to blind to see it. Read Greek mythology and the various writings from ancient Greece and you will see Calvinism. Its not biblical at all. And neither are you
@tbw980371 You're a mockery and a sham. Go soak your puffed up head in toilet and flush it a few times. Maybe it will wash out some of the crap that resides in it.
@gtrjunky Oh cause that's so mature. So loving too. Wow your such a follower of Christ I want to be exactly like you...not. Did you graduate high school?
@tbw980371 Is that all you've got BOY? I was in high school when you were crapping in your pants and smearing in in your hair and trust me when I say BOY there is NOTHING you can say to shatter my faith.
@gtrjunky Yes there is, your a fundamentalist. You can't stand up to any criticism., and its the kind I won't bring to this because its not for me to do. And I think your aware of how much of a fallacy it is to insult my age because the content of your argument is wrong.
The fundamentalist rhetoric that Sproul uses to go about his exegetical approach makes God look so small. I disagree with many things that Rob Bell says but I still consider him a brother of Christ and so I defend him as such. Your use of the word savior is pathetically borrowed from the republicans who call Obama the savior of the democrats. My savior is Jesus alone, Christ is my only creed. He is the only thing that matters.
@gtrjunky And how much do you think you know about Greek? Did you go to school to learn it? OR are you repeating something that was spoon fed to you by some Pastor or what you would call a good theologian. Which I am sure hardly falls under such a category.Probably really basic stuff like R.C Sproul or something.
@tbw980371 Now I don't claim to be an expert in koine but I do know how to listen to those who are. How ironic that you would dare to compare the teaching of Sproul to Bell and then use the word "spoonfed"? LOL! Comparing Bell to Sproul is like comparing chocolate covered starfish to prime rib. I've listened to enough of that raw sewage that Bell feeds his follwers to see the difference. I think you're just pissed because this guy spoke against you savior, lord Bell.
Your so quick to judge Rob Bell. Are you jealous of his success? You are trying to pick on him. Not everything we say has to be a verse from the Bible. Rob Bell has read the Bible, probably more than you have. He studies it in Greek and Hebrew. Which I'm guessing is a lot more than you do. Have you ever heard one of his sermons? Ever?? I was a skeptic of Rob Bell before I actually listened to one of his sermons. The Bible was in his sermon. You just dont have the understanding to see it.
@tbw980371 Why do you assume that he is "quick" to judge him? That's a rather stupid assumption on your part. Perhaps he has done alot of research on Bell and knows what he's talking about? So while Rob Bell quotes greek and hebrew words, he often commits the "root word" fallacy that most people who are not skilled in greek commit. Bell's use of church history is erroneous and skewed as well. He's really a very poor "theologian" but his followers are too ignorant to know this.
@gtrjunky I see your no different than the man in the video. You resort to the word stupid so fast, I must have hit a nerve. It is a correct assumption, your too blinded to see that this man can be wrong. Which considering this video I'm sure he often is. He is a pastor of a baptist church which I guess is why he hates Rob Bell so much To make the mistake that Rob Bell holds to universalism is in fact compete ignorance. Surely you and the maker of this video don't read outside your comfort zone
@tbw980371 Well "stupid" is a biblical word so I guess I must have hit a nerve. Speaking of "stupid", why would you say that this humble man in meekness "hates" Rob Bell? If you mean "read outside" what God has decreed? No!
Rob Bell twist the bits and pieces into something that IS NOT THE GOSPEL. Ya it sounds like he just picks and chooses random versus and puts it out that and says something, twisting it into something that misleads.
when you take one question a man was asked and you scrutinize it to this degree you'll be able to find at least one error. the gospel is a great thing bc it effected the world 500 years ago and its still doing it today. do you think that pastors 500 years ago would be ok with how we deliver the scripture now?? no way. the church must follow the times while remaining biblical. otherwise we risk becoming unidentifiable with the generations.
Robert, I do like how you can make an argument without yelling or coming across ignorant. I believe church and church leaders should be held accountable indeed. I don't cross your view that he perhaps could have given a better answer to an interview question. However, while you make a logical argument based on that article, I do think your point is weakened by asserting that the Gospel is not in his church. You quoted an article, not a sermon transcript, so I think your last point was a leap.
Tell us about how your Bible justifies slavery and the mass killing of women and children. Tell us about the talking snake or the guy living in the belly of the whale or jack in the beanstalk!! Tell us why the two books of genesis contradict each? You think adultery should be stoned and the same for children that give their parents a hard time. As for using the scriptures both catholics and protestants use the bible and cant agree. Why?
Hey Rob why not tell us about the violence and mass murder that your bible justifies! Tell us why Christians cannot even agree with each other and tell us about your loving god that demands people love him or burn forever. Explain to us how we are going to be happy when our kids are burning in hell? Bible says all prayers will be answered so why not ask that Jesus will appear over NYC tomorrow? He wont no matter how much you pray and you know damn well that is true..
@Realityseekerman Just because all prayer is answered, doesn't mean it isn't answered with a "no" at times. If your child wanted candy before dinner, you would know better and tell him "no." All prayer is answered, but that's not the same as everything we want is given to us.
Why do Christians condem people to Hell? why don't we focus on the life that we have been given and make the best of it? Why can't we agree to disagree? The other day a young man walked away from his family because they were not living Holy. He said they attend church and watched football and have family gatherings on Sunday. He said that is not enough and until they repent. He won't have anything to do with them. What happened to honer thy father & mother?
@changeishere2008 Christians don't "condemn" people to Hell, they tell them what the bible says. The bible says that Hell awaits those who do not believe.
Good video. I too do not agree with Rob Bell's teachings and find them very dangerous and unbiblical. I own a small Christian bookstore and will not carry his books. He has a new one coming out that questions if hell really exists- sounds very universalist if you ask me.
explain thermodynamics in less than 500 words. here lies the issue, are you giving a full gospel message? or are you giving half a story?

God's love & mercy endures forever. If He sentenced people to an eternity in Hell, how could His love & mercy endure forever? The Scriptures do not teach eternal punishment. God will judge fairly, as He sees fit.

Rob Bell is sharing some Great News, but it isn't the kind of Good News Protestants want.
theNCGstudios 7 months ago
What bothers me is blatant ignorance that this "pastor" spews. At least from this video he reminds me all that is wrong with Christianity. R.C. Sproul's theology is so basic and so surface level that it can't be considered intellectual at all. I'm not saying that Rob Bell is there yet, he's still young. Maybe you should look into theologians like Jurgen Moltmann, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Karl Barth. Reveal the true love of the Gospel. In a way that R.C Sproul and this man above forgot long ago.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 No, you're just pissed because somebody soke out against your savior, lord Bell. Say what you like about Sproul but he's forgotten more about theology that Rob Bell will ever know.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Your so blind, its really mind boggling. You completely disregard my last comment because you know i'm right. And yes R.C Sproul has forgotten a lot about theology. Your the one calling Rob Bell lord not me.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I was blind but now I see. I don't need to defend Dr.Sproul, his track record speaks for itself and the illinformed musings of some punk aren't going to tarnish it. You just keep following your savior, lord Bell.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Even Christians can be blind sometimes, following Christ is a growth process. I'm just defending my Christian brethren who though I disagree with them on some points I know that we have the same Lord, Jesus Christ. Christians do not have to agree on everything. I seriously suggest that you look into the theologians I listed. And I hope that the Pastor above will become more open minded towards his fellow Christians. Even though he disagrees with them, its no reason to hate someone.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I wouldn't wipe my butt with the writings of Moltmann and there is no biblical mandate to call everyone "bretheren" particularly when they preach false gospels.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Have you ever read anything by him for yourself? He's brilliant, it requires a fair bit of knowledge to read his stuff but its SO biblical. You ever read the Crucified God? Its pretty much the standard of modern theology. Christians have never agreed even from the beginning on every verse of scripture and its meaning. And Rob Bell believes that Jesus died on the cross, rose bodily from the dead after three days and ascended to heaven. That makes him a Christian and therefore my brother
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 There are lots of "brilliant" lost people and I know enough about him to know that his writings aren't necessary for correction and training in righteousness.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Your choosing ignorance, search for truth that's what i'm telling you. Don't let fundamentalist preachers spoon feed it to you. They are right about some things. Read things for yourself trust me its better to know more about it than to be ignorant. And look at it this way. You hate Moltmann, and if you read something by him for once maybe you will like him, or maybe it will give you more of a reason to hate him. Who knows
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 No, I'm choosing to stick to what Jesus said and let Him feed me. You may be able to shovel all kinds of crap by the likes of people like Bell and Moltmann but that is meaningless. No, I don't "hate" the man because I don't know him and your use of that term reveals your immaturity and ignorance.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky It shows your immaturity when you called me stupid. I let the living God fill me up, and its very ignorant of you to assume that Jesus isn't my Lord based on opinions of things that you haven't even read. Your reading others opinions and taking them as your own. That is ignorant. Would you prefer me to use the term, highly dislike then?
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Well I'm ceratinly not immature for calling your depiction, stupid because that's what it is.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky And you base all your claims, what you think is smart, what you think is true on what? The Bible? I think you have been taught to pick and choose what is most important in the Bible and say that it is the correct and only interpretation. Despite the fallacious logic you use for your purpose of trying to have power over God, it's not possible. You turn salvation into a club system. Who is in and who is out, when that's not what Jesus calls us to do at all.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 "Turn salvation into a club system" Hmmm..as if that has anything to do with your FALLACIOUS accusations against the guy in this video. Try and stay on topic instead of throwing rocks. You're all over the map.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Your completely lost. I'm going to stop this conversation before I say something that shatters your faith. But before I go I would like to thank you for stealing the word I used to describe you. And I would also like to say that the guy in this video couldn't be more wrong and more self righteous. You brought the conversation in this direction, I just finished it. You can't answer any of my questions, or you have refused to answer them. So this conversation is going nowhere.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Don't flatter yourself you bumbling fool. There aren't enough words in existance for an idiot like you to shatter my faith. You can'a answer my question about your lord Moltmann and his man made theories that he eisegetes into the word of God. Get off your high horse you pathetic fool!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Your the most hypocritical person Ive ever seen on youtube or any blog. And in order for me to answer your question you need to define your terms. Because clearly you lack a lot of knowledge in theology. I'm just trying to figure out how you got so brainwashed. You lack the intellectual capacity to deal with what I'm saying to you. And trust me, your a fundamentalist, its very possible. And when you can spell exegetical right maybe I'll start taking you seriously.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 We haven't even discussed theology Mr. high and mighty. You're a joke.
BTW I wasn't trying to spell "exegestical", I was spelling eisegetical you sham.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Even when you try to correct me you still spell it wrong, So I'm the joke for wanted to know why your so brain washed? hmmm, I've been trying to this whole time. I'm not the one who is so proud of being narrow minded. Also, side note. Your resulting to words like sham and joke because you lack the ability to prove me wrong as well as think of a decent insult.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 It was a typo...but it didn't stop you from knowing what I meant. Is that the best you have? Criticizing typos?
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky You prove my point with every comment that you post. When an atheist comes along they will bring it to you. I'm a Christian, I can't do it.

@tbw980371 What a sad excuse for a "christian" you are. All you have to offer them is the vain babblings of men.
gtrjunky 7 months ago

@tbw980371 I don't need to know you, your stupid comments speak for themselves.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 If mean that I hold to the fundamentals of what Christ taught then yes. Most often those that throw the term "fundamentalist" around are those who despise the word of God and substitute it for the sophistry and musings of lost liberals who seek to justify their sinful lifestyles.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Fundamentalist as is, believing in what was crafted in the 12 pamphlets called the fundamentals. Which were written in the past century. So your belief system is pretty new. Unless your reformed which just means you started after the reformation, meaning your Calvin's tulip is influenced more from Greek philosophy than of the Bible. There are things that are debatable however. And your conservative was once the liberal. Its a good history lesson.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Well those are all just red herrings. Perhaps you can make your point from scripture? No...I doubt that. Liberals don't use scripture, they talk about everything BUT scipture.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky What I said is the truth, that's why you didn't fight it. And I have plenty of scripture to back up what I say. But I don't conform it to dogmatic systems like you do. I don't like to pretend like God fits in a box like you do. Let me remind you again that your philosophy, the way you read scripture is defined by Greek philosophy. So even though you occasionally use scripture you twist its meaning into what you want. Just some food for thought.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Don't fight what? What did you say that's truth? Nothing, Zip, Nadda! The way I read scripture is the way it's written and your regurgitaion of Brian MacLaren will not prove your point. You can say that all you like but there is no proof to support your illinformed claim.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Your probably the most ignorant person Ive ever talked to in my life. And I have only read one thing by him, it would be wrong to say I am influenced by him when I'm not. And the truth that your not biblical but Greek. Come on, at least try to keep up with me here.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Yes, I know. Liberals get pissed when people don't just accept what they say but that's why we're not liberals...we use discernment.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Trust me boy, you aren't the first to make this mythological claim about "my biblical interpretation is based on greek blah, blah. blah" Crap. You're a broken record. You haven't a tiddle of proof to suport this..at all!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Discernment? You mean blind acceptance of irrelevant doctrine? And we both know that there is proof, you just don't read so your not aware of anything outside your worldview. Start reading something and maybe you will find the truth. Don't just read a selection of verses out of the bible and say that its what the entire bible says. but you won't because your proud of the narrow mindedness.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I wish I could see you face to face so that I could laugh, scoff and make a mockery of you in person. See I know the drill with you liberal dogs. You read the musings of some liberal "scholar" and then go looking for some simple minded "fundie" so that you can tell him that everything he's been taight is wrong. VIOLA! You have your open door to then tell him what the bible "really means". Then if they don't listen. you say that they are "narrow minded"...
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Your so filled with hate where is Christ in you? Nowhere. Liberal dogs? You think Jesus feels the way you do about your fellow man? You are a pharisee not in knowledge or experience because you have neither. But in spirit. You expect everyone to abide by the dogma you mix the bible and Greek mythology to obtain and if someone doesn't agree with you about every little detail you call them a false teacher. Its people like you that crucified Jesus. You are narrow minded, you admit it.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 If I were standing in front of you with a Moltmann book, I would tear the pages out, one at a time and shove them down the back of my pants and give my butt a good scrub with them. Since you cannot demonstrate that my theology is influenced by greek philosophy then I will symbolically do the same thing with your musings.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky You mean the books that you know nothing about besides the lies you have been parroting all your life? You just repeat what you have been taught even though you have no idea what it actually means to learn something for yourself and formulate your own opinion? Your a robot. You probably don't even know what the word symbolically means because you didn't graduate high school. I will demonstrate then, I answer your questions even though you don't answer mine.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Read the play about Oedipus, or the anything about the 3 fates in Greek Mythology. Or Aristotle or Plato. Contrast that with the Hebrew writings of the old testament, and the gospels themselves. When you are reading them make an attempt to remove your presumptuousness methods. At the end of it you will see that the idea of Destiny of an absolute fate didn't exist in the Hebrew or early Christian mindset. And that it was only through Hellenization that some Christians moved that way.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 So that's it? Those are your "examples"? So what you're trying to say then is that the bible is plagerized from greek mythos?
Nice try jackass. You're the "robot" regurgitating the jackassery of nubskull liberals and trying to make yourself sound educated. There could possibly be things that could classify as similarities in those writings but so what. That doesn't prove anything as far as biblical interpretation. You have failed to make your point.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 See, I could point to Star Wars and find some "simlarities" within the story to christianity with a bit stretching of the imagination.
Besides, why would you ask me about the "love of Christ"? I thought that was a "greek interpretation"???
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 See maybe in about 10 or 15 years, you're going to start to grow up (God willing) and you'll realize that the older you get, the more you realize how much you didn't know when you were younger. I remember when I was 20 and thought that I knew so much but the fact is that you're just a wet behind the ears, know it all punk who peddles the writings of men and ignores the word of God.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 See, believers DID in fact have the hope and concept of an absolute fate and if you had just read the book of Hebrews you wouldn't look so stupid right now. I'm not going to give you the chapter and verse number because you really need to find it for yourself.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Once again if you knew anything about the scriptures you wouldn't use my age to puff yourself up. Its funny how much of your life has gone into a trash can while I've actually done something with my life so far, I know quite a bit more than you do. Your ignorant your a crazy fundamentalist who doesn't know a thing about what God actually is trying to say. Your argument is circular. You haven't proven anything I've said is wrong. You just call me a jackass and 20 and then say you won.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Sorry, your immaturity barked at the first comment you left on here.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky You prove yourself a fool because you are a fool When I give a decent insult to you All you do is fling it right back at me, shows how smart you are. It all just proves that you didn't graduate from high school. And if you did you were at the bottom of your class. Don't even get me started on if you have a family...poor kids. And you would know the difference between a star wars, once again your ignorant, and a Greek play. I mean come on. A lot of star wars was patterned after the bible
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 You prove yourself a fool by exalting the writings of men and making the word of god subject to them. You are still a FAILURE to prove your point and it makes sense that you stay away from the scriptures because they are always the death of humanistic philosophy. Whether or not I graduated high school or went to college is irrelevant because the proof is in the pudding and so far your pudding cup is EMPTY.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky You didn't demonstrate anything. My point relies on the idea of you reading something, which isn't going to happen. And no if you knew anything those aren't the only examples. And the examples themselves aren't just one book each. You would know that if you weren't ignorant. And who said the love of Christ was a Greek interpretation? You have completely lost it. And furthermore I did not hint at the bible plagiarizing from anything. This is what I mean when I say you read into things
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Now rather than trying to prove your point by finding similaritires in ancient stories (which BTW could be done in many movies, not just Star Wars). Do it with concrete evidence...K?
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I don't need to "demonstrate" anything, the bible is my starting point and the writings of men is yours.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky You have no comprehension of the will of God....none. Your the reason why people like Richard Dawkins exist.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Once again, an ad hominem, juvinile "rebuttel". Man up BOY and talk like a man!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky You don't even know what concrete evidence is! You need to look stuff up! because someone brainwashed the crap out of you when you were a child and you never grew out of it. Live in the now! You don't even know the bible! You probably have only read what your pastor told you to. Your hopeless. And I hope God has mercy on you. There is not a redeeming quality in anything that I have seen from you. And you can't call me out on ad hominem, oh wait, your a hypocrite. Now it makes sense.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Yes, concrete evidence is the word of God...you know, that thing that you don't appeal to? Thus far you've been WRONG on at least two counts all because you failed to simply read God's word, trust it and believe it.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 You came on here with the thoughtless accusation that this fellow in the video somehow "hates" Rob Bell because he did the biblical thing and warned fellow believers about his false teachings and he did it in a loving, humble way. I don't know how much nicer a person could be. Your assessment of him was uninformed and juvinile.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky It was informed and mature. I stick to my original posting saying that he is jealous and worried that his brainwashed mind will be trampled on. Rob Bell, who has his faults has more talent as a Pastor and a communicator that the man in this video ever will. If you actually listened to his despriction of how he runs church and how he deals with people's sin. It all traces back to the Bible. Which you never read faithfully
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Your original posting shows what a jackass you are. You're a stupid punk with an opinion to shove down the throats of those who will tolerate it. I won't!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I don't need to read Aristotle. As I said, finding similarities in other writings doesn't prove your point. I can watch Spiderman or the X-men and find "similarities" as well.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Take the "dialectic synthesis" for example...not a biblical principle but with a few back flips and some twisting and bending I'm sure one could squeeze it in there.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Yeah you do a lot of mental back flips to convince yourself that there is no Greek philosophy in reformed theology. Which too bad for you its not just similarities, its quotes. If you had actually read, Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin. You would know that he quotes Aristotle he quotes Plato. He quotes Socrates. etc. And not to bash them or prove them wrong. Nope, he quotes them as having authority on the matters of how God works and in matters of Philosophy.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I don't have to, it's an empty accusation. I mean I can invent theories and apply them to you. I could say that the reason you reject reformed theology is because your from the UK and in the UK there's alot of homosexuals and you're influenced by them.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 So what if he quotes them? I quoted a chinese proverb to a friend the other day but that doesn't make me a buddhist. What was the context of his reference? Paul quoted the corinthians but so what? Sorry, but you still fail. Sovereign Grace is a biblical concept and there's nothing you can do to erase it.
gtrjunky 7 months ago

Its funny that you mention Gnosticism, its very Greek.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Should I be concerned about the opinions of others? Not at all, God is my judge, not a bunch of liberal, ill informed jack asses like you.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 See, you still haven't made your point because everything you just said isn't found in the text. Paul was simply throwing their own assesment back in their face. What you FAIL to demonstrate is how greek philosophy influenced the christian faith and not the other way around. See, there have been people from all sorts of religions that come to faith in Christ and they forsake their previous beliefs for the knowledge of Christ (as Paul said and did)...
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky "ill-informed" haha talking about yourself? And yes God IS your judge. haha you have the amazing ability to ignore facts. Like everything I just said about Calvin being influenced by Greek philosophy, you ignored it, that or you don't comprehend basic information. Everything I said is found in Calvin's systematic theology. Thus its his interpretation of the Bible and yours as well. I didn't say Greek philosophy influenced the Bible I said it influenced Calvin and his interpretation.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I don't ignore "facts", I ignore the musings of those who disregard God's word and that would include you.. See you confuse your own unsubstantiated musings as "facts" but since you aren't one of the apostles nor are you the Lord then pretty much everything you say that contradicts it can be equated with fecal matter. No...fecal matter is of greater value.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky You ignore facts face it. I don't have a problem with the Bible I love the Bible. What I have a problem with is your interpretation of it. And how you claim that its the one and only interpretation of it. A claim that many people have made through the years the Bible has existed. And it led to many atrocities. Even by Calvin himself.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 What "facts"? Your empty liberal assertions? Of course I ignore them. A fact is something based on evidence not conjecture or eisegesis. You have directly contradicted the scriptures at least twice and you exoect me to listren to anything you say as though it's credible? Take a long walk off a short pier!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I relish facts which is paret of the reason I am a believer. I reject lies, conjecture and human reason because I used to think that way. What you and your handlers want is for people like me to surrender to your unfounded nonsense and say "please tell me what the bible means sir?"
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Of course yo won't say that you're doubting the bible, you'll just say that you doubt man's ability to undertsand it rightly. See how that works? You're off the hook. You can claim to trust God's word while subjecting others to doubt. Very clever but it's really the oldest lie in the book. Lucifer tempted Eve by saying "did God really say..? No, what He meant was ____________".

@tbw980371 How's that "devastating news" that's going to "shatter my faith" coming along? I noticed on your channel that you say that you love to hear new things that no one has ever heard before? So did the Athenians. You'd fit right in with them.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Why don't you either turn off message block, or make me your friend on your channel so I can message you. I'm not going to argue on this anymore its not God honoring. I will check later and if you don't let me send you messages then that's completely your choice. Whenever your done with the conversation you can delete me if you feel like that would be beneficial to you. But if there is any more dialogue between us on these subjects then I would like to move them to messages.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Hmmm, threatening to undermine someone's faith is "God honoring"? No chance chump. You got somthing to say or prove it will be out in the open. Otherwise shove off!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky No its not, I never said my goal was to undermine your faith. I said I'm not the one who is going to do that, that's all I said. I already proved that your Bible interpretation is influenced by words of men. And quite the contrary, your afraid to talk to me anymore. That's the real reason why you don't want to message me. I know I can prove as many things as I can here and there the fact is that even with indisputable proof of fact you still deny it. So message me I can type more there
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Listen BOY, if I were "afraid" I wouldnt have commented to you again. You made an ASSertion that my interpretation was influenced blah blah blah. Not only did you FAIL before but you WILL fail again! The only thing you can prove is that you're a bigger IDIOT than I first though. I defy you to take your best shot boy!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky I succeeded, your just too self conscious to admit that you might be wrong. I think everyone reading these comments can probably tell that you lost a long time ago, to a boy (just to use your language). The fact that you resort to cursing and vulgar language time and time again only confirms that you don't have any argument against what I've said. And you are completely wrong, because i'm the one using logical biblical arguments. And your the one swearing and being immature about it.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I'm sure in your convoluted mind you thought all kinds of things but meanwhile in this universe, all you did was make some ambiguous generalization that could be done with many stories. You haven't mentioned a single passage of scripture idiot...not one. You have run your mouth about the writings of men and that's it!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 See, my confidence is in God and His word. Your confidence is in the writings of your handlers to tell you what God's word means and now you're trying to find other idiots like you to follow after your pied piper.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Once again I did prove it, in this universe. You live in your own dimension. I demonstrated that your interpretation of scripture, not scripture itself. Is all laid down in the systematic theology written by John Calvin. I then demonstrated the philosophical lens through which he looks at scripture. I did not quote scripture because I did not need to, my problem wasn't with the Bible it was with your insistence that your interpretation is the only correct one in the world.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 No, you made an ambiguous generalization that anyone could use to "make their case". You also took a quotation from Calvin out of context to support whatever it is that you're trying to say which also means NOTHING! You have to actually demonstrate how this plays out pragmatically and you haven't.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky I demonstrated it to you plain and simple. And it was in context, how can you take using a philosopher to back your theology out of context. It means nothing to you because you have the amazing ability to ignore facts. Calvin was influenced by Plato, fact. And that's why you don't like Moltmann, because he proves Platonic philosophy wrong. And it messes with your theology when he does that.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 See, everyon was influenced by something before Christ got ahold of them and part of the change is when people's minds are transformed FROM the philosophies of the world, not making the bible fit worldly philosophies.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Yeah but, that's what your doing...making the Bible fit worldly philosophies. And everyone was raised with influences. You were raised with your Platonic Philosophy and that's okay. I'm not condemning your interpretation i'm just saying that you can't claim to be the only one who is right.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 According to what you've been told by your handlers. I am simply reading what it says but you are passing it under the lens of what your handlers have told you. Besides, YOU HAVE YET TO MENTION A SINGLE DOCTRINE OR PASSAGE.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Are you really that stupid? Do you know how easy it is to take someone's knowledge and insert an idea that "the only reason you understand it that way is because _______". The culture in Jesus day was already surrounded by greek philsophy, so I guess the Holy Spirit was a victim of it too.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 What's funny is when you hear testimonies from people in Napal and Bang Kok and such places that God saves through the simplicity of reading a bible in their own language. Hmmm, no greek influence there. I guess your "theory" FAILS.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Your still entirely missing what I have been saying this whole time. That comment proves it. When your missionarys go to preach to them. They don't hand them a Bible and tell them to have fun with it. The missionary's influence them. Just like any other denomination.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 If you'd read carefully, I didn't say anything about missionaries. I said that God saves them from the reading of His word.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky I re-read your comment. And I don't see why people in Nepal reading God's word has anything to do with Greek philosophy unless they somehow knew about it like John Calvin did. What exactly do you think my "theory" is?? What haven't you gotten from my comments that leaves you so lacking in understanding of what I have been saying about Calvinism?
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I know this is tough for you to grasp since you are already a "know-it-all" but asserting an assertion without proof is called CONJECTURE. If you can't start with God's word then you have NO FOUNDATION you stupid MORON!

If man has the final say in the matter (synergistic) then that means that there is something about the individual that is either smarter or more humble that he chose God and others did not.
gtrjunky 4 months ago
@tbw980371 I'd sure like to know what a "worldly philosophy" is to you. Let's see, depravity of man? Christ's atonement for sin? His resurrection? Funny how the greeks scoffed at those things, but according to you that's where the "influence came from".
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky Well since you haven't read anything written back then for yourself. There was a lot of diversity in Greek thought. When I say Greek philosophy I am alluding specifically to, Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle.
And your just doing mental gymnastics to get around my evidence. Do yourself a favor and buy the systematic theology that your interpretation is based off. I'm not a Calvinist and I own one.
tbw980371 7 months ago

@tbw980371 Since I've already expressed very clearly that I see through your so-called "argument", how is it that my "language" could be considered "vulgar"? I haven't used any language that can't be found in scripture...you know that book that haven't appealed to?
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky I would very much like to meet your Pastor and have a few words with him about what he is teaching your church. And it is vulgar, we are having a debate and if you have ever been in a real debate or seen one. You would know that the one who can't keep their cool is the one who lost. Usually when someone gets angry they swear. So if we were in a debate, after all that you have said you would have lost. Plain and simple because you don't have any other words to back yourself up. And I do
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 My pastor really wouldn't give two turds for the opinion of some child who has been persuaded by the writings of men. Making generlaized, vague assertions based on past influences doesn't make your case. There isn't a single greek phlosophy that you can appeal to that demonstrates the foundation for soverien grace.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky I proved you wrong, and your going to have to deal with the consequences of it. The fact that you call me a child really gets funny especially because of how bad I've beaten you. Why don't you give me your Pastors # and i'll call him?
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 What I proved is that unless you are able to undermine God's word (disarm your opponenet) first then you cannot succeed in your argumentation. I'm supposed to wave the white flag and say "please then, tell me what the bible really means". Pretty piss poor assault if you ask me.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky I did give you evidence. Its called, Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin. That book once again is a systematic theology in which your doctrine was laid out principle by principle. And also..once again. I have not undermined God's word in arguing against Calvinism. And I have no "handlers" I was converted from outside the church by the bible. You were taught to think this way though, very different from me And I would use scripture if we were discussing..lets say baptism
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 That comment below is an example of you trying to get around the evidence I have given you.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Actually fool, I'm still waiting for "evidence". You confuse your piss poor conjecture as "evidence'.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 In order to prove someone "wrong" you need EVIDENCE, not conjecture.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 The reason you want to run your mouth in private is so you don't look like an idiot in the eyes of others!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 The fact iis, you don't have a damn thing t say to undermine anything. You start with the words of men and make God's word subject to them. You FAIL!!!
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 But once again, if you had just read your bible instaed of regurgitating the musings of your handlers then you wouldn't look like such an idiot again.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Gnosticism would be the false teaching that John addressed in his epistles...yes, very gnostic of you indeed.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky And I don't think you have a grasp of what Gnosticism really is. Your not demonstrating a correct understanding nor a shred of insight on it. And if your referring to the first chapter of John...nothing in the prelude has anything to do with anything that I have said. I'll teach you something about it really quick. Gnosticism is Greek, like I said previously. It has more in common with Calvinism than with my theology. Not in common with the bible but with Calvinism.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Actually I do and there are many facets to it. The one I pointed to was the "special knowledge" aspect of it. Again, thew Holy Spirit is the author of scripture and He isn't subject to the stupidity of man.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky My goal isn't to say that the Holy Spirit was influenced by the Greeks, it doesn't have anything to do with what I have been saying at all. Not once have I said that the Bible has Greek Philosophy in it. Not once have I said anything like that. I did say that Calvin was influenced by Greek Philosophy. And if you think that Calvin was the inheritor of the "perfect" Bible translation then you are sorely wrong His opinions aren't synonymous with the Holy Spirit. Contrary to what you think
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 I'm sure you haven't noticed but there's a pattern with your "argumentation". NONE of it is based on God's word. I mean you discuss everything but the kitchen sink. Why? because that's your only foothold...avoid God's word and find ways to undermine it.

tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Since the Holy Spirit is the author of all scripture then you're going to have to TRY and say that the Holy Spirit was influenced by greek philosophy. Good luck with that.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Do you know how many watered down "seeker friendly" churches in the world try to use movies to make "biblical" points? If I really want to, I could use almost any story, TV show or movie to wrench biblical points into. What you CANNOT prove is that modern, interpretaions are the result of greek philosophy.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky So the belief in reformed idea of destiny that I proved was stolen from their Greek predecessors wasn't enough for you? It has nothing to do with the Bible. The reformed doctrine is a result of man's interpretation of the Bible. Not the Bible itself. And I don't know why your on this stream of movies making biblical points it has nothing to do with our conversation. Read Aristotle, his book called metaphysics. Calvinist theology in a nutshell.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Do yourself a favor and try and think a bit before you speak. Talking about Calvin and Sproul and this and that won't help your cause. Read the bible ok? Sovereign grace is substantiated biblically...all five points.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@tbw980371 "Calvin's" TULIP wasn't Calvin's acronym anyway. Shows how much you know and the doctrines of Grace did not come from greek philosophy they come from scripture...you know that thing that you don't read?
gtrjunky 7 months ago
@gtrjunky I was using a modern example of the summarized sample of Calvin's doctrine, Obviously. His theology as a whole is what I speak of. And yes they did, your just to blind to see it. Read Greek mythology and the various writings from ancient Greece and you will see Calvinism. Its not biblical at all. And neither are you
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Nope, Calvin's soteriology came straight from scripture and you haven't a shred of proof to support your regurgitated claim.

@gtrjunky Yes there is, your a fundamentalist. You can't stand up to any criticism., and its the kind I won't bring to this because its not for me to do. And I think your aware of how much of a fallacy it is to insult my age because the content of your argument is wrong.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Really? Please let me know when some real criticism comes along...K? You're a mockery.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
The fundamentalist rhetoric that Sproul uses to go about his exegetical approach makes God look so small. I disagree with many things that Rob Bell says but I still consider him a brother of Christ and so I defend him as such. Your use of the word savior is pathetically borrowed from the republicans who call Obama the savior of the democrats. My savior is Jesus alone, Christ is my only creed. He is the only thing that matters.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@gtrjunky And how much do you think you know about Greek? Did you go to school to learn it? OR are you repeating something that was spoon fed to you by some Pastor or what you would call a good theologian. Which I am sure hardly falls under such a category.Probably really basic stuff like R.C Sproul or something.
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Now I don't claim to be an expert in koine but I do know how to listen to those who are. How ironic that you would dare to compare the teaching of Sproul to Bell and then use the word "spoonfed"? LOL! Comparing Bell to Sproul is like comparing chocolate covered starfish to prime rib. I've listened to enough of that raw sewage that Bell feeds his follwers to see the difference. I think you're just pissed because this guy spoke against you savior, lord Bell.
gtrjunky 7 months ago
Your so quick to judge Rob Bell. Are you jealous of his success? You are trying to pick on him. Not everything we say has to be a verse from the Bible. Rob Bell has read the Bible, probably more than you have. He studies it in Greek and Hebrew. Which I'm guessing is a lot more than you do. Have you ever heard one of his sermons? Ever?? I was a skeptic of Rob Bell before I actually listened to one of his sermons. The Bible was in his sermon. You just dont have the understanding to see it.
tbw980371 8 months ago
@tbw980371 Why do you assume that he is "quick" to judge him? That's a rather stupid assumption on your part. Perhaps he has done alot of research on Bell and knows what he's talking about? So while Rob Bell quotes greek and hebrew words, he often commits the "root word" fallacy that most people who are not skilled in greek commit. Bell's use of church history is erroneous and skewed as well. He's really a very poor "theologian" but his followers are too ignorant to know this.
gtrjunky 8 months ago
@gtrjunky I see your no different than the man in the video. You resort to the word stupid so fast, I must have hit a nerve. It is a correct assumption, your too blinded to see that this man can be wrong. Which considering this video I'm sure he often is. He is a pastor of a baptist church which I guess is why he hates Rob Bell so much To make the mistake that Rob Bell holds to universalism is in fact compete ignorance. Surely you and the maker of this video don't read outside your comfort zone
tbw980371 7 months ago
@tbw980371 Well "stupid" is a biblical word so I guess I must have hit a nerve. Speaking of "stupid", why would you say that this humble man in meekness "hates" Rob Bell? If you mean "read outside" what God has decreed? No!

mtnbike88 10 months ago
when you take one question a man was asked and you scrutinize it to this degree you'll be able to find at least one error. the gospel is a great thing bc it effected the world 500 years ago and its still doing it today. do you think that pastors 500 years ago would be ok with how we deliver the scripture now?? no way. the church must follow the times while remaining biblical. otherwise we risk becoming unidentifiable with the generations.
mpeters2009 11 months ago

Why?
Realityseekerman 11 months ago
Hey Rob why not tell us about the violence and mass murder that your bible justifies! Tell us why Christians cannot even agree with each other and tell us about your loving god that demands people love him or burn forever. Explain to us how we are going to be happy when our kids are burning in hell? Bible says all prayers will be answered so why not ask that Jesus will appear over NYC tomorrow? He wont no matter how much you pray and you know damn well that is true..
I
Realityseekerman 11 months ago
@Realityseekerman Just because all prayer is answered, doesn't mean it isn't answered with a "no" at times. If your child wanted candy before dinner, you would know better and tell him "no." All prayer is answered, but that's not the same as everything we want is given to us.
spyderboyy 11 months ago
@Realityseekerman
What happened to honer thy father & mother?
changeishere2008 10 months ago
@changeishere2008 Christians don't "condemn" people to Hell, they tell them what the bible says. The bible says that Hell awaits those who do not believe.
