it produces elecricity by spinning - today's generators requires turbines to be spun to create electricity. Because this kite spins, if you put a turbine inside - you've got power.

I don't think there is any power generated in this video (it looks like a mock-up), but the idea here is that the vanes on the blimp cause it to rotate in the wind, and this rotation runs a generator onboard the blimp. The electricity is then transmitted back to the ground through a conductive wire in the tether.
