Why would they ban it? Honestly if they released a few more adverts like this then same-sex marriage would be more positively ingrained in peoples' minds. Advertising has a subtle effect that you don't even notice, if they had broadcast this advert then maybe we would be seeing more gay couples in media?
@BradleyOmNomWorth Ikr? I think the joke is that the New York Deli themed mayo turned their traditional British housewife into a steryotypical New York Deli owner? Or there is no joke and the couple are just gay, but I think that's what the boy called the man "mum" :)
This isn't even a gay commercial. It's suppose to mean that using this mayo makes the sandwich taste like a fresh deli made one. Why are people afraid of the gays? It's not like they come out at night to ass rape people in their sleep.
hey the chef is my dad it wasnt supposed to be gay the day he got home from london the next day it was all over the news and he told me it would be better if they showed a girl at first and then they showed him making the sandwiches
@DontLikeDontWatch The mayo ostensibly transformed his presumably female and British wife into a New York delicatessen proprietor. Magical mayonnaise.
The advert was aired in the UK and Heinz received a couple of complaints from folks who thought two men kissing on daytime TV was wrong. They then removed the commercial because of this; and received even more complaints from people who saw the move as homophobic.

This was banned but not the condom commercial!? It shows a guy who is mad at his kid since he forgot to wear a condom.

I totally get the "joke" here. I don't really see why it was banned.

That wasn't THAT bad. I thought it'd be worse. They should've cut out the kiss though.
Do the kids of gay couples REALLY call one of them "mom"? That's a little creepy.

What I want to know is why the kids have English accents but the "mother" has a New York accent.

@DontLikeDontWatch maybe "mom" and dad met in ny and moved to england before they had kids

The problem is probably the part where they kiss. Only in America would this need to be banned...

@JimmyBrus - The thing is, though, it was banned in the UK, not the USA.

@JimmyBrus If the "mum" hints weren't enough, this is a British commercial.
