  • Top actor - still feel chilled when I watch Duel! RIP Dennis.

  • I had the most absolute honor to know Dennis while he was alive. He and my grandfather were best friends. My grandpa owned a ranch in Wyoming and he invited Dennis and his wife Gerry to the ranch. They gladly accepted the offer and they drove to Wyoming in their car and came to the ranch. He sat down with me many times to talk story. He didnt talk about his movie career too much. But he was always the nicest man ever. He treated his wife like she was a queen and treated us like we were family.

  • I knew you well and you were a great and I'm proud to be best friends with your grandson R.I.P

  • R.I.P. Mr. Dennis Weaver

  • Jai guru

  • RIP Mr. Weaver.

  • I only meet him a few dozen times in person at SRF events over the years. I was always impressed with his spiritual energy. Truly a nice man.

  • Dennis Weaver >The Man > The Myth > The Legend.

  • i always thought chest in gunsmoke was funny RIP

  • Peace and Blessings to the whole Weaver Family. Dennis and Gerry's 50th wedding anniversary was one of the most beautiful celebrations I ever attended. So much love. Family and friends are the greatest gifts anyone could ever have and the way Dennis and Gerry lived the life was a great road map for all of us. Peace and Blessings and a big hug to Gerry where ever you are. If you get back to Santa Monica contact me...I promise you another two hour foot massage.

  • Dennis is duel. LEGEND

  • Dennis Weaver was my Grandfather's cousin.

  • Rest in Peace Mr. Dennis Weaver.

  • I love him kisssssssssssss

    xoxoxo

  • Dennis is Immortalised Forever as Chester Goode ("Hey Mr.Dillon ") & Sam McCloud ! ( "There Ya Go!" )

plus the unlucky guy driving across the desert highway with a rather large & nasty looking petrol tanker looming up in the rear view mirror....!

Dennis was also superb in a Twilight Zone "Shadow Play", a memorable "Name of The Game" with Robert Stack ("Give Till it Hurts" ) "The Vriginian" & so many otrher fine guest roles, plus some superb Film roles.

    A wonderful actor & a True Star !

  • Date of Birth: 4 June 1924, Joplin, Missouri, USA » Date of Death: 24 February 2006

  • His deat 2003?

  • What a nice and warm person and a fantastic actor he was. I love Mr Weavers acting as Sam McCloud and his outstanding performance in Duel. Thank you Dennis Weaver.

  • I'll remember him in Spielberg's "Duel" forever. One of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

  • Dennis Weaver is my 5th cousin. My mom has a picture of him with my great-grandma in a restaurant.

  • So sad as he was a great actor!

  • To me, Mr. Weaver will always be Chester Goode on Gunsmoke.

  • My first hero when i was a kid. Thanks for my childhood Dennis!

  • Wow, what a touching story about "people helping each other out" in the old days.

  • What a sweet guy he was a great attitude to life : )

  • was???

  • He was a very talented actor, and, as well as I can remember, advocated living a healthy lifestyle.

  • My dad grew up in Joplin. Dennis Weaver was talked about all the time there, and he still is a legend. Southwest Missouri is a spawning ground for great actors...Brad Pitt is from Springfield, Missouri.

  • R.I.P. Dennis Weaver. I'll always remember you as Henry Ritter. Did his co-stars from "Wildfire" go to the funeral?

  • wait? he is dead i didnt know that?

  • Dennis always seemed to be a great guy. An engaging and pleasant performer, whether it was by accident or design, he was therefore able to do his usually fine good acting while also not getting in the way of the flow of the story in every production he was in.

In a very strange twist of fate, he passed away on 24 February 24, 2006 within 24 hours of two other major TV stars: Don Knotts and Darren McGavin.

  • Too bad he died.

  • Always one of my favourite actors. I don't know how many times I have watched Duel. Skilled and gifted at his craft. Sad he's gone!!!

  • What a HANDSOME guy he was still at aged 78!! GORGEOUS!

  • always had a tight little butt, too.

  • Good guy. I have not seen any McCloud clips on Youtube.

  • My favorite show is McCloud which was based on Coogan's Bluff.

  • RIP dennis
