Awesome :D I just got a Moog Little Phatty! You should check out my live improv bassline! I show off my lovely gear too ;) I only have one live video as of right now tho! Check the one called Retro Analog (Phatty Bassline)
@muzik4machines as for the arp, i think its a note triggered sequence in the micro modular, kind of like an arp, but a bitt less practical as it won't recognise chords to arpegiate from
@manowar821 thanks, i brought me back too when i did it, i was in one of those retro weeks, listening to chemical brothers, crystal method and fluke all the time
"Live Organic Techno" I believe PA stands for public address, perhaps i could be wrong... This is the real deal. Very impressive. COMPLETE Mastership of creativity, skill, and fun. "I'm lovin it"
yeah, PA is public address but some people use the abreviation for performance artist also it seems (discovered that a few weeks ago following links in the stats above)
im a composer first, performer second, so i want to play my own things only, not some other dude afternoon in the studio :)
as far as traktor go, i prefer no cdj involved, just my numark controller, way more portable (i dj only for friends party and stuff, would never be seen in public mixing other people songs, it's just not me
i will have to disagre with you, i used to gig with a laptop and 2-3 controllers, and there was nothing about reworking, it was all live creation and improvisation, i switched back to hardware cause it was cheaper per knob than being virtual.
most DJ i know(that is a few 100) use traktor and some sort of controller, not having to carry bulky cd's or records is a blessing, especially when flying those paranoid days
if i follow your reasoning, there is no DJ's anymore as they mostly "spin mp3 from a laptop, and more often than not, there is no decks or tables involved, just some controller, but i get what you mean, and im pretty tired of hearing people call me a dj, i find that diminutive lol :)
i think they call it live PA (Live P.A. stands for "Live Personal Appearance" or "Live Performing Artist" (...). In the context of electronic music, Live P.A. means that electronic musicians are playing a live show using electronic music gear (laptops, keyboards, synthesizers, samplers, hardware sequencers, etc.) Typically electronic musicians write and produce their tracks using sequencers before the show, and play and improvise on their gear during show.
i use it as a drum sampler and send the midi of the 2 melodic parts to my hardware, one COULD use those parts as a synth with a sampled (not multisampled, just stretched 64 semitone up and down) waveform, i actually have 150 1 cycle waves from my old virus sampled in there in case i need to use the tribe alone
the eMx has IIRC 8-10 drum parts that are rom (samples choosen by Korg) and 5 melodic parts that can use one of (again IIRC) 3-5 synth "engine" (analog modelling, rompler, chord, etc)
Yeah ha, I know what you mean. I play a lot of live shows, and just use my mac and an akai mpd24 and an oxygen 8... Its probably easier, but it looks lamer.
Dude can I live in your living room? Electronic bliss. I like when the knob falls off :) Just curious is that Korg groove box thing with the tube up top the master doing most of the phrase triggering and such?
Congratulations! I don't know how is it possible to you to make this tune without a great synthesizer. I believed till today that it is not possible to do so. But I look you're performing that tune at an array of decoders/mixers, in a way different the rest of DJ do it. Can you tell us how do you make music with such a device? What parts has that music generator?
i know it will be a huge pain, but i will resis tthe laptop and lemur route, i want to play live, not just tweak -some- parameters on already pre tweaked sequences
very pure sound!!!nice dude!
