FSX and FS2004 are great tools for IFR work, I just recently recieved my Instrument rating and buddy, (gst000), if you dont even have enough money to get your private pilot license, I am sorry but there is not way you can continue with your inst. , comm., and dual engine followed by CFI which all of that means you need at least 300 hours to have all those ratings (about $35000) on averge.

it depends though cause you can improve the scenery and add more plane especially flight simulator x is cool. Before I got my pilots license this game helped me out a lot.
Its actually a really good training aid, especially for IFR. The physics depends on what planes you fly, as most of the default planes are ok, but if you really want to get accurate performance and procedures something like the Level D 767 or Flight1 172 give very realistic physics and very detailled cockpits.
Can someone help me. I know how to fly a plane but i dont know where to land it. Inside the plane is it a GPS or navigation system to tell me where and airport is for i can land the plane
Dont listen to others if you have the dream to fly contact pilot finance, i became a pilot you should get the dream come true, its not difficult, is not about the money is the passion about aviation that really will shape your future. Good luck.
There are already more than enough real life pilots. No more needed. If you want an aviation career but don't have the money for ATPL then become ATC, it also pays very well and you'll be employed much much faster.

a simulation is still different from real life. you dont feel the G's or turbulance or the actual thrill of flying. Im going to be a pilot next year, screw flight sim

FS isn't a good simulator. It's not realistic at all. It's just a game, for same reason they call it a simulator.

Yeah you can add a lot of shit, but the flight physics, the whole flying thing, is just unrealistic.
