Yes I agree it is very misleading to use the word "aparthied" to discribe Rhodesia infact Ian Smith often criticised South Africa for it's policy of Aparthied.
In Rhodesia of yore, blacks had a much better deal than they had in South Africa at the time. Rhodesia had its faults, but while MS Fuller is a wonderful writer, in this interview she tends to conflate Rhodesia and apartheid South Africa. The two weren't the same by a long shot. For the rest this is a most absorbing interview.
