lots of players that shouldnt have left BUF. Drury, Briere, Cambell, Kotalik, and even though Afinogenov wasnt producing i think he could have bounced back and had the same kind of year that he did in ATL.

Drury was ready to sign days after becoming a free agent, Regier and him were on the verge of making a long-term deal, but Regier pussied out, and didn't talk with him anymore. Briere was in everything for the money (He denied a contract Buffalo offered him after a 95 point season and when Buffalo was doing great, but accepted one from Philly for the same amount, when they were in last place).

yea over briere are you serious vanek only had to good years since the briere drury era and the only reason why they were good years is because he scored goals...he had 84 points then when they give him 50 million$ he gives us 64...64...52 and as the season is now hes at 49 i think

Vanek is so much better than him it isn't even funny. Derek Roy is right behind max in points and he hasn't played nearly as many games as max either.

Cause there is no way the sabres would get rid of vanek so it was out of the question. When Briere and Drury were here he was playing with roy and vanek. He had a career year because everyone's checking line went against the briere, hecht, dumont/pominville line and Drury's line went against the opposing teams best line. My point was it was time for him to go. And that he is in no way shape or form better than vanek. Of course kovoluchuk wants to sign him for longer becasue he's hot right now. Who is Buffalo's color commentator? I also here his SCOOOORE in other Sabre's videos. He seems pretty into his team. I'm a wings fan and Mickey and Ken try to be as unbiased as possible and the only time I've ever heard them get really REALLY into was when Cleary scored the game 7 game winner against Anaheim. Puts chills down your spine and gets you really into it, I wish they were more into it like this guy is.
Rick Jeannerette is the Sabres' play by play man. He is very much into the Sabres yes. His love for the team and for hockey in general comes out in his commentating.

He has been making calls for players and in my personal opinion.. Listening to him call a goal or any high intensity play, is that much better with him calling it.

Afinogenov is a sick dangler, he does make bad passes and definitely has to work on his defensive play but i find hes one of the most exciting players in the league to watch.

My point was it was time for him to go. And that he is in no way shape or form better than vanek. Of course kovoluchuk wants to sign him for longer becasue he's hot right now. He fits in good with his line. He didn't fit anywhere in Buffalo anymore and was playing down right horrible. Just because he is off to a great start doesn't mean it was a bad move for Buffalo to let him go. That shit happens all the time in the NHL. Connolly had 47pts in 48 gms last yr. guys who get 5 or 6 mill have a few great yrs in a row and are superstars....max isn't a star...usually every player starts off hot when going to a new team....playing with kovolchuk and antropov doesn't hurt either.....he had every chance with buffalo and in the end it was obviously time to let him go....u would think that if max was so good other teams would be jumping to sign a guy with his salary and yet no one did....not even atlanta...he had to have a tryout with the team first haha

yea he was on the 4th line and benched cause he was playing like shit.....in that span he was moved up to second line for a few games and was like a -5 with no shots so they sent him back down......years BEFORE that he was on the powerplay and played a lot of minutes.......nobody has put up better looking goals?.....r u kidding me?.......have u seen connolly or vanek the last few yrs?......a guy who averaged almost 17 goals a yr is NOT worth 5 or 6 mill.......ever.......in any league

Afinogenov is a class A player, everybody who knows hockey and knows who Ruff is, knows it....Only the 360 goal is better then any goal scored in Buffalo history....so lets not talk about the beauty of Max's game, we all know he's a lot better then Vanek and Connolly.

Yeh the 360 goal is under-rated, its the most beautiful goal i've seen in a while....biased? i hate Russians how can i be biased lol, i just can't deny his obvious talent, im even a Red Wings fan, the only reason why i know anything about Atlanta is cause of Kovalchuk and Max....they're hockey is attractive, beautiful, like a woman...it makes me wanna watch and watch....not the garbage goal type hockey, but highlight reel hockey.

Who is Buffalo's color commentator? I also here his SCOOOORE in other Sabre's videos. He seems pretty into his team. I'm a wings fan and Mickey and Ken try to be as unbiased as possible and the only time I've ever heard them get really REALLY into was when Cleary scored the game 7 game winner against Anaheim. Puts chills down your spine and gets you really into it, I wish they were more into it like this guy is.

I think you're talking about Rick Jeanerette. And he's a BIG part of the sabers. I dont think there is someone more passionate about the team then he is. He has been making calls for players and in my personal opinion.. Listening to him call a goal or any high intensity play, is that much better with him calling it.

5-6 mill?....haha what?.......the guy played 9 seasons with buffalo and never got over 23 goals......he was also always one of the bottom players in +/-, top players (who didn't fight) in penalty minutes, usually had the most giveaways, and was predictable.......the best yr he had was when he was playing with vanek and roy when we still had briere and drury. everyones checking line wwent against briere and drury's line went against the other teams best line....those guys had free reign that yr

Well right now Max has more goals, more points and more +/- rating then your WHOLE squad lol, and nobody on you're team has ever scored better looking goals.....Max is an Olympian and a world champion, and he never got to play his best in Buffalo.....watch how he does in Atlanta.....the guy is at the end of his career and runs faster then anybody in the whole league with all its rookies and veterans...
