It's not the FFIX Prelude. I'm assuming you downloaded the FFIX Soundtrack from somewhere like I did. Some of the last few songs are actually switched out for other ones, so I believe it was bootlegged. The Melodies of Life in that release is supposed to be 7:36 and end with the FF theme, but it is the wrong file. I'm assuming someone replaced the actual Prelude which is supposed to be 2:45 with this song, which sounds remarkably like The Prelude...I dunno if they ripped it off or not
@synile Nope. This is an original Apollo 440 tune. This track can be found on Lost in Space EP, but the tune was cut, named 'Are we a rock band or what?' and it was used as the intro for the LP 'High on your own supplies'.
