Im 19 and its funny because when i was young in the late 90s and early 2000s, i always preferred nickelodeon because i hated the gay ass tunami japanese anime crap that was on cartoon network (like dragonball z). granted, i did watch cartoon network sometimes but they had violent cartoons back then as well.
I love the Hannah Barbera cartoons, but if you think that a man walking around with a riffle trying to kill a rabbit isnt violent then something is wrong. While I do agree it's horrible that kids die repeating certain shows, you can't blame the show itself. Naruto is an anime from Japan where its content is appropriate for kids around 10, apparently the kids know better than the kids here. Anyway, what should be blamed is either the parents for letting their children watch such a show, or the network airing it. If it suppose to be "kid friendly", then yes, it's wrong, if not, then parents. An idea is an idea, how it's presented makes noteworthy.

These cartoons are meant to be funny and entertaining, you want educational go to PBS or shut off the set. Many of them were made in a different time when physical comedy and over the top antics were considered funny and not a "dangerous threat to society."

You know the "violence" that you speak of is usually done for comedic purposes. Like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry, a lot of modern cartoons use violence and physical harm to induce laughter in children. No different than the old Three Stooges movies where they inflict severe pain on each other with no repercussions whatsoever. If you don't have children, or never realized what you were actually watching while growing up, I do not think your opinion should be taken seriously with all due respect.

As for "Imitate-able Acts"... They've always existed. Whether it's powered-flight or flying drop-kicks... if it's impressive, people will imitate it. Stop blaming the TV shows & movies for your child's behavior. It is your job as a parent to set guidelines, teach your children morals, & how to behave. It is not the responsibility of a TV show, producer, network exec, or anyone else to parent for you.

In addition, some of the "old school" cartoons you mention, like Looney Tunes & the Flintstones, were never made with the intention of them being viewed by kids. They were made for adult moviegoers. Johnny Bravo, Popeye, Rocky & Bullwinkle. Tell me these didn't show violence or have adult jokes.

Is the person who made this video a moron? Your argument that it is CARTOON network (as you put it in the video) is invalid. All of the shows mentioned in your list of the "new" shows are in fact cartoons and therefore deserve to be on the network. I'm not sure how they should be banned or otherwise ostracized because they are not "old school".
As for the violence, rude behavior, and PDAs, the "old school" cartoons had all of this and more. How often did violence happen in Looney Tunes?

While I do agree it's horrible that kids die repeating certain shows, you can't blame the show itself. Naruto is an anime from Japan where its content is appropriate for kids around 10, apparently the kids know better than the kids here. Anyway, what should be blamed is either the parents for letting their children watch such a show, or the network airing it. If it suppose to be "kid friendly", then yes, it's wrong, if not, then parents. An idea is an idea, how it's presented makes noteworthy.

You were the program which i loved so much.You were part of my childhood.I remember the old days after school when me and my frs were watching our favourite cartoons: Tom & Jerry,Courage the cowardly dog,Samurai Jack, Dexter's lab and Cow and Chicken. These cartoons are meant to be funny and entertaining, you want educational go to PBS or shut off the set. Many of them were made in a different time when physical comedy and over the top antics were considered funny and not a "dangerous threat to society."
If we sit down and talk to our kids, lay out some discipline and make them aware of REALITY we will all be fine.

I agree that the new shows are pretty bad but i just cant take this vid seriously... I mean, really? did you even watch these old shoes? the were tottally violent! EX. Johnny Brovo got beat up by a girl in most episodes.

Granted, Cartoon Network isn't as cool and interesting as it used to be, and the live action stuff shouldn't be there, but other than that it's just business as usual. You can see just as much violence and rude behavior in a Tom and Jerry cartoon. And what's wrong with public displays of affection? Or weirdness, for that matter?
