"The real search for immortality is realised in this endless process of human development and perfection, as men and women make themselves anew on a higher basis than before. The highest goal we can set ourselves is thus not to long for an imaginary paradise in the beyond, but to fight to attain the real social conditions for the building of a paradise in this world."
Well Alan Woods and Ted Grant were (and indeed Alan still is) Marxist revolutionaries. Ted fonded 'Militant' in Britain, which world wide is called the International Marxist Tendency-IMT Since we now have a group in most countries in the world. It was an argument against religion since Marxists are anti-clerical and are materialists. It was an argument for revolution not riencarnation ;-)
"This is the only immortality to which we are entitled to aspire. Generations pass away, but are replaced by new generations, which develop and enrich the scope of human activity and knowledge. Humanity can conquer the earth and reach out its hands to the heavens."
"That every individual must pass away is well known. In the future, human life will be prolonged far beyond its "natural" span; nevertheless the end must come. But what is true for particular men and women is not true of the species. We live on through our children, through the memories of our friends, and through the contribution we make to the good of humanity."
Well, we'll certainly know whether YOU inhaled or not when you run for president :D
Seriously, though, as the saying goes, there are only two certainties in life, namely death and taxes. Why one should fear the only inevitabilities we all share in life, I don't know.
I don't worry at all about death, myself. That may be why I am not part of any religion. And I think some people are part of a religion because it's a good crutch for them to alleviate the fear of what happens after we die.
I don't know the relevance can be looked at in a few different ways...as far as spiritual growth and wisdom...but I do think that much of it is like a shell that helps to protect us while we live this life and then we shed it as we move on...
Victor Hugo once said "It is nothing to die. It is frightful not to live." I feel it necessary to say, since you feel fear is inappropriate to confront death.
"I wouldn't mind dying in a plane crash. It'd be a good way to go. I don't want to die in my sleep, or of old age, or OD... I want to feel what it's like. I want to taste it, hear it, smell it. Death is only going to happen to you once; I don't want to miss it."
Makes a shit load of since. Gracias for posting! Your Right on!
"People fear death even more than pain. It's strange that they fear death. Life hurts a lot more than death. At the point of death, the pain is over. Yeah, I guess it is a friend..."
There is a series of books that you may or may not be familiar with. They were written by Neale Donald Walsch, and the series is called "Conversations With God". If by chance you've never read any of them, I invite you to do so. I think you may find many (if not all) of the messages share a similarity with many of your views. Namaste.
you know, somebody lent me one of those books a while back...I haven't gotten around to reading it...I think he would like it back, but I lost touch with him...
The way I see it, when we die it's like a portrait I guess you could say. I don't really believe it all goes on from there. I believe it's like a cycle, we live and die, yet the memory remains. Which isn't a bad thing, although some may fear it because of how they have lived. They may fear that when they die all the good times will end, when really they still exist in some shape or form and they become set free. It is a very hard topic to cover though.
There are some strange theories out there, When my best friend died the Catholic church he attended tried to tell me it was because he reached perfection at 17. If he was perfect then average person is not doing near enough drugs.
yeah, people are still working on figuring this stuff out...and even if somebody says they have the answer...you must truly question how they came to that conclusion...
Hey :) Liked your video response about death..i agree it is something that alot of people tend to shy away from..usually out of fear...we just need 2 start making it a non taboo subject..that would be great..i guess we just need to talk about it more..spread the word more about the eternal soul etc..hmm i may have 2 do a video response to..;)
yeah...its not always an easy thing to talk about...many people have that feeling of losing somebody they love, and that is how the feel about it...like they are lost...forever...
You Got it! We are spirits having a human experience and until we die is that we wake up to reality. To bad many people dont know where they came from. WE ARE NOT SINERS and GOD does not need anything. And always give love, because love is the key to existence! Peace freesouljah and many blessing to you and all the lifes you touch! Your Brother X
There is so much here I agree with, it's hard to comment on just one point. I'm really looking forward to catching up on your videos. You're an amazing soul ~ Chassity
please do comment on on thing at least...it makes me able to interact with cats like yourself...rather than just saying "thank you" or "yeah, right on..." or what not...
We are getting deep, my friend, aren't we? I also think Death should NOT be something to be afraid of. It's natural and should be valued as much as life itself, yanno. James Dean used to say something interesting things before his death, and so does River Phoenix. Something like: "Live like there's not tomorrow". I think that if we live on the edge, like there's nothing to fear, we are truly LIVING. Otherwise we are physically alive, but mentally dead. I'm not.
you know...I was going to do something like this, but I was debating on when a good time would be...and then she went ahead and made her vid...so I figured I would do the same...and I think it helps balance the fact that I might be taking on that sponsor....I want to keep shit really balanced...so some of my 'other' videos (without sponsorship) might be getting quite deep...so be careful, if you don't have your floaties... 8P

organized religion does not own reincarnation...especially if you view it as a natural course of existence....

death is simply the end of biological processes knows as life...its that simple really...

you may say it is that simple...but then you have to define life...which is not simple at all...

actually its not simple, but it has been defined...

Love your metaphors; a beautiful way to perceive death.
Is it just me or do you seem flirty when you talk? There is an irony here. lol

cool, glad the metaphors resonate with you...
as far as the flirting goes...it is not intentional, but I won't necessarily say that I am not...

this topic is on my mind constantly
i think its all about faith in a higher energy
if you have it you will not fear
if you lack faith you are in doubt
i think doubt is good, in everything just as long as you can return to the truth.
none of us know, thats what faith is
but there are plenty of signs all around us
great video
peace.

then life
then death.
but don't worry folks trust me, you will either live on or you will stop living and you won't care at all!
