It seems this giant is to big to fail. It has gotten bigger than the customers, they dont care about you being there just spenf your money and go. I wont give them another dollar of my hard earned money, i know one person wont matter, but at least I know I wont be contributing to the worst company i the world
I REALLY like the very last clip of this DOCUMENTERY!!!! 134:54.BRIDEPORT is in my hometown of LAKEWOOD WA I remember when this CRAP was going on in 2004.UFCW 367 got us all together to help us block this UNION YES!!! WAL-MART NO GET OUT!!!!! CHEAPER IS NOT BETTER!!!!
As A UNION WORKER.Cheaper is not better Cheaper is CRAP!!! UNION YES!!!! I SUPPORT my UNION that I have had for the past 15 years!!! What I make at my union job is 3 time what a WALMART worker makes for the ENTIRE YEAR WOW!!!!! This Documentary reminds me of the SOUTH PARK where CARTMAN buys he THEMEPARK!!! Need I say more. What I really like about the dockumentary is HOW in WA we told WALMART to get out of are town!!!
what is WALMART??? Slave LABOR,NON UNION Need I say MORE!!!! LIKE last sign!
Imagine if wal mart didn't exist. The amount of small businesses would probably double. Stores for sporting goods, food, medicine, music, electronics, etc.
I STOPPED SHOPPING THERE 3 MONTHS AGO COS I'M DISAGREE WITH THE ABUSES THAT WALMART HAVE AGAINST THE MANKIND.I FUCKING HATE THAT STORE I DON'T BUY THERE ANYMORE.
Walmart is using people only for their benefit not ours, they treat us like we're slaves and that we must do everything they command. And seriously, no overtime yet they stay countless hours afterbtheirs shifts just to get paid; ridiculous. I feel sorry for all of those small businesses who actually knew the meanings of "customer service" and "employee appreciation."
Four members of the Walton family in the top 10 richest list on Forbes. The vast majority of their workers - domestic and abroad, barely survive. This filthy, parasitic maggot of a company (and the bloated, gluttonous family of greedy pigs that run it) hasn't gotten a cent of mine in years, and it never will.
also the ones who know you by ur name and treats u with respect. wal-mart is getting way to big for their pants. something has got to give. i know how wal-mart works bc i still work there and its not by choice its bc they was the only ones hiring at the time bc they closed down all the other business. i promise myself that once i am out of there i will never step another foot in that evil place. up urs wal-mart.
wal-mart cares nothing about the workers or the communities. they only care about that money. they scream team work but once u help another worker u get coached. all the small business that close there doors bc they cant compete against wal-mart is sad. why does wal-mart feel that they have to have one wal-mart 5 minutes down the road from another one? really? to all u who love wal-mart think about the little man who is struggling to keep his door open. the one who has been around for years.
@RebelQueen1213 And - more importantly, a small business who owner who presents honest goods, honest wages and pays honest taxes, instead of a wealthy family who bribe the government into paying NO taxes so they can party it away in other countries. Corporate welfare slugs who live off the backs of their underpaid workers' taxes.
I wonder how many internal network infections WalMart has with all the hate towards it :p lol Its just a matter of time before Wal-Marts 'secure' servers are compromised and their financial information is released -:D
@ffletcherr It's only a matter of time before we see the entire Walton family assembled and beheaded on you-tube by an angry mob of people they've been fucking over to get rich off of for years.
You people that say that Walmart is a disease on America are not looking at it with economic view. I suggest watching Penn & Teller Bullshit: Walmart, you can find the episode on youtube.
I wish more people would buy products made in America but even when it says made in America it is usually only assembled here the parts almost always come from elsewhere. And as far as this So called "Documentary" or movie its easy to make anyone look bad when it is a one side only story. Not to say I support them just be fair to both sides and if you are right it will come through.
I hate Wal-Mart. I truly despise them and avoid them like the plague. I have spent less than $100 there in the past year, and then only to get things that I could not get at a competitive price elsewhere. I am pro union. Having said that, I find this documentary to be waaaaaay too one sided. I want to hear Wal-Mart's side of the story. I know it's justifications of how it does business will be laughable, but the way this was produced makes it seem like a UFCW recruiting video. Objectivity???
@workingstiff76 What would Lee Scott have to say if they did bring them in? Or anyone trying to defend the company. The only objectivity I can imagine from those people could best be summed up to, "Nu uh".
@CarpoSectors4LIFE in another documentary Scott said Wal-Mart pays industry average wages & most of their employees are full time + have the health insurance. He says they have good benefits but if they offered more, they'd have to raise prices and hurt poor shoppers that depend on them. It's all BS since they're so big they define the industry average. Wal-Mart could increase pay / benefits without raising prices if the Waltons would forgo a tiny part of their vast income.
The worst part is the Walton Family would barely notice if a billion or two was diverted to the associates, but an extra few dollars an hour could substantially improve the life of an employee. I am not saying Wal-Mart should give all of their employees huge raises and posh benefits, but if they are making good profits and their employees have to depend on public assistance, something is very wrong. The Waltons and other stakeholders are being given subsidies by taxpayers.
Wal-Mart free for years! That corporation is ruining this town of 5,000 people, more and more private stores closing their doors. Here's your best option; find your local hemp store, their clothes will last 10x longer than the crap from China and won't contain toxins from DuPont. It will also help strengthen your local economy.
What is so shocking about this? When people stop falsely believing that the Government is for the people, they wont be so surprised when they see the Government acting against the good of the people.
One does not become rich without making a great deal more people poor.
The dilemma of capitalism.
It is one of the key principles laid out in Marxism that unchecked capitalism would eventually lead to the reestablishment of a slave class. China already has it, and America's building reliance on foreign slave labor isn't setting itself up for anything short of the same social collapse. There is no better competition that a labor force that works for nothing.
That's the same reason unions arose in the 20th century, that's why regulations are made against the "rich", pollution, etc. The growing wealth gap has nothing to do with too much regulation. The people in charge of the market aren't nearly generous enough to those that made their success possible (employees). If they were, we wouldn't NEED social programs, they're strained because the top aren't providing.
You have to cure the patient before removing the feeding tube.
There is no doubt that walmart i evil. I worked there for a short period of time. The 'rule's always describe how good it is for you, but in reality it works against you.. I have so many examples ot eh company ripping you off.. number one is 'full time'' ,, which is not a 40 hour week... number two,, the one hour lunch,, which they deduct from you... three is overtime.. they say there is no overtime but they schedule you for it then tell you , you won't be paid because of their pay sched.
@Designerzonly: well, had you taken the time to watch it you would realize that your comment is completely irrelevant to the reasons presented as to why this particular business is an absolute parasite on our economy and beyond putting locals out of business, basically holds others in slavery around the world.
There is no excuse for willful abuse of other human beings. Blatant disregard for the simplest Human Rights is Wrong, whether it happens on America's soil, or not. Working for 13 cents/hour, 14 hours a day, 7 days a week... This is WRONG. Please, have the gutts to watch this video - it's for YOUR good. I pledge to never again buy one single thing from Wal-Mart, from this moment forth.
I wont sit here and watch this full 1:37:37 but I will say this. How does walmart have anything to do with someones business being lost? Thats not their problem. Its called a BUSINESS. I mean really. Lets be serious. Dont sit here and dictate where people can shop and choose to spend their money because you dont work for that persons money. Its what is affordable and what store is readily available to shop at.
this need to be chopped up and set up into smaller clips to hold the average slaves attention.... it says so in this video, the hard working americans work work some more eat take care of their kids sleep work work etc....
Seriously? Now we are crying about walmart? First mcdonalds was making us fat because we couldn't stop buying bigmacs. Now walmart is the devil because we cant stop buying toilet tissue. It sounds to me like we almost want socialism. Because for some reasons we cant make our own choices. If you dont like walmart. STOP SHOPPING THERE. And go support a small business man. The People have always had the power. But people are lazy. Thats how big businesses get rich.
@mrsynix Am I being unreasonable? Being a small business owner myself. I cannot control if the people stop buying my service because of competitors. The People make that decision. The problem is we dont initiate power. "The power of the people". Walmart is not forcing people to shop there. But we blame walmart. Its ridiculous. We have to take back responsibility for our community. People know what they are doing. They dont care. If the tissue is cheaper at walmart, they are going to get it.
@REDIMUSICMOVIES by your response i am going to assume that you didnt watch more than the first 2 minutes of this documentary. we are not just angry with walmart because they are such a big company.. we are angry with them because they are for slave labor..and they dont give a fuck about their employees. and they straight up lie in commercials saying employees have family health care WHEN THEY DONT. so dont get all paragraphy on me when you dont know what the fuck your talking about.
Wal-mart is not the problem. Lack of innovation is the real problem. The U.S hasn't come up with any new products/technologies in a couple of decades. Education is not the answer either it's about government investmenting in ground breaking ideas...
@Ugandangirl "it's about government investmenting in ground breaking ideas..." And what besides education will promote that? Capitalism? "True" American values? It's gonna take a treat similar to the Soviet Union because the only time America cares about technology is when a serious threat is at hand. Hopefully Iran will be that threat.
@Ugandangirl Education is the answer - we haven't had any innovation because we are on 3rd generation of Government Schools.... Read about Dewey... Educate yourself... that is the only way to take our country back. Self Education.
@Ugandangirl really? the government needs to invest in ground breaking ideas? WHAT DOES THE GOVERNMENT HAVE TO DO WITH FUCKING STORES AND PRODUCTS?!?!?!?! youre a god damn moron.
There was a time when US autoworkers and manufacturing people set the pace for US wages. Now it's Wal-Mart, where every job costs the local taxpayers some $2,200 in taxpayer subsidies to Medicaid, Section 8 rent subsidies, and school lunch programs (never mind the taxpayer giveaways on property taxes and other deals). this is just as timely as it was when first released.
The documentary is OK overall. However, it was too slow and could have been summed up to under an hour. Something that came to mind while watching: the part about the parking lot crimes is really misleading. If a shooting or robbery happens inside a supermarket, is the supermarket's fault? No. It's the police who must take care of it. It's stupid how the video is trying to blame WalMart for not confronting crime (which is inherently not their responsibility to begin with).
Wal-Mart is gay in my opinion and after watching this movie & working at wal-mart I'm going to do everything in my power to not spend another dollar with this stupid company. I can't begin to be able to understand how such a juggernaut of a company doesn't make healthcare more affordable for it's employees. And I know wal-mart isn't the only company to pay pennies to it's employees in other countrys but seeing and hearing the stories makes me sick to my stomach. Fuck Wal-mart & the Waltons!!!
@nimaisspeedy....perhaps you didn't watch this? america does not need walmarts. they put a roof over no one's head except those who run corporate. they destroy local business. They steal tax money from our govt to subsidize the health care they don't provide. but yes, the working poor need jobs...telling people to quit? Tell Walmart to pay a living wage and provide health care. There once was a time it was good for workers and america to work for Sears. Stock options etc...screw walmart
i think all these people that are complaining are just ignorant; if you dont like working at walmart dont work there, if you dont like the health benifits get another job with health benifits or go complain to your government officials- walmart isnt responsible for your health care. walmart is offering soo many jobs that offer at least the minimum wage, and as far as I know getting a job in the states hasnt been the easiest these days...dont complain when walmart is putting a roof over your head
try thinking outside the box use the internet to use youre talents to make extra money advancement never or rarely comes by working for an employer. For example if you have computer skills use them. as an independant contractor. Art or music skills? sell youre music on Itunes or sell art online.
@dsFDFAHAHAHH ......this all just demonstrates that America has lost its voice.
What workers need is a strong union. Nothing great is done all alone. Even the Beatles had four, plus a genius in Brian Epstein. We the People, We the People, "WE"..."People" need to stand together and fight for the unions. Take heart, Occupy Walmart is coming to a town near you!!
Well i feel for walmart employess there is help to do so whatever youre employer is if it does not pay enough be creative use the internet and other resources to make more money . Thats what was done before. dont wine just think outside the box and not be as dependant on the government or an employer
Ever since I learned about rockefeller and jp morgan's father's steel company in history class I fail to see how anyone could support such pure and ludicrous evil. Have all you people grown up in suburbs and metro-areas?
i bet hell is just one big wal-mart ran by satan and god allows angels to shop there just so they can laugh at everybody being punished for their sins working their.this must be the last level of dante inferno lmao
ok what the hell, do they not see that if they just paid them decently, they may not have to pay the expenses of private jet fleets, security cameras, settlements and court payments and that would most likely come to the same expense!! not only they would most likely gain more customers cos theyre a more respectable company...dumbasses!
I'm sorry but most of what it's shown in this video is not true. WM is not stealing our money. WM is no spending billions of our tax dollars. That money was already taken away from us in form of taxes and government is funding big corporations with our money. Go complain to our government officials to not private corporations. These workers believe it is WM's job to give them a prosperous life, it is not. They make what they are worth not more not less. This "documentary" is misinforming people.
@antiacido2 - they are making what they worth? Who are you judge the value of a human life? The theft of a working day's wage is not good for the nation. Yes, the tax dollars are already taken. I'm happy to pay them to help those who need help. But I expect those who are able to work full time to also be able to care themselves full time and contribute taxes too, not live off the dole. Walmart lives off the dole. We outlawed share cropping and Jim Crow Laws...now we need a new direction
@mrk1839 People there are making what their labor is worth. I'm not judging, I'm just saying how it is. Walmart doesn't set the wages, the workers don't set the wages either. The market does. If people can't find a job that pays better than what they do now at WM, then that they make now is what their labor's worth. If you want to create your own company and pay your employees more than what they are worth, please go ahead and see for how long you stay n business.
@mrk1839 It is not WM's fault that government with all the ridiculous regulations discourage people from open businesses so you see a large amount of people looking for jobs and a few amount of employers. It is already bad for businesses and corporations to stay open. And now you guys want to make it even worse for us, the workers because if is not profitable for WM to have stores in the US they will go somewhere else, hiring people over there and not here.
It is all about results baby, Walmart is one of the most successful corporations in the world because they cut costs so they can offer low prices. It is a win win situation. People who don't want to buy there or don't want to work there are free to go somewhere else. I don't see how anyone would have a problem with Wal Mart.
@itsbrandoyo I watched the video. I think it is sad how people can believe this BS. WM is a privately owned company. They have the right to pay their employees what they are worth and the people have the right to quit if they don't like it there. And people don't have to buy there if they don't want. They can pay their CEO's whatever t hey think they are worth, etc. This is not even complicated, it is very easy to understand.
@antiacido2 Yes, they have a right to do what they want, and we have a right to decide not to shop there ... but this documentary is just showing the truth behind what goes on, so that people can make an informed decision.
How did this devellopment took off in the first place...
Becaus more and more people are eating of a world pie that's shrinking, the pie of energy that is, becaus energy is our real god, without the energy sources (oil most of all) we woundt have 7 billion people.
More and more people want their "american dream life" only the fuel that really makes that lifestyle possible is becoming more and more expensive.
We are so fucked. Jobs, hours, wages declining. Cost of living on the rise. I'm in san diego the average price of a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment is 1150$/m. Minimum wage is 8. Milk is almost 4$/g gas the same. Not including other food, clothes, hygene products, necessities. Insurance, bills. Tuition went up 25%. Most jobs offer part time. Taxes rising. Us 1$ falling........ :,(... Click click boom to the head we're all dead. Not to mention banks are charging and start up costs for small biz is sky r
@joyesnamehere When you argue that a low paying job is better than no job, you use an argument that is no different than one made in the South in 1850: "If we didn't look after our Darkies, they would starve. We are doing them a favor by owning them."
Two German chain stores opened up here in Ireland a good few years back at this stage. They are now the largest buyer of local Irish foods. Which is fantastic for farmers and other industries. It's a pity that Walmart doesn't adopt the same policies to the towns they roll over to get their store up and running. What a horrible company.
Yeah!! Damn Wal-Mart...creating all of those jobs for the US. I hate them! Making us save money in such a shitty economy. You all are right. Wal-mart is horrible for doing these things...no wonder why everyone calls them the devil.
@Ryan40272 want to elaborate on this or simply leave your idiotic comment stay? I stated my reasoning...unless you state yours, you are nothing more than a one-worded simpleton. Or just simply a dick. Either way...good day to you. We are all entitled to our own opinion.
What jobs brother, they killed off more jobs outsourcing factories, putting smaller businesses out, and breaking the law on selling practices. The would actually have employees go to other stores to find out what they were selling the same items for. If the price was at cost they would go LOWER, which is illegal. This is all well and documented.
@JSpecGC8 I hear what you are saying and have thought about it more than somewhat. My opinion is this...walmart creates over 1.5ish million jobs in the United States alone. Crappy wages or not, getting paid $7.50 is much better than $0 hour. Are we in agreement with this? Having a job is better than not having one. Although it may not be enough to live incredibly comfortably, imagine trying to survive off of absolutely no paycheck at all.
@Joeysnamehere 1.5 out of 300mil, how about the 10+million jobs lost in US manufacturing in the past ten years because US manufacturing cant compete with the prices of overseas.
Which can be regulated and balanced by politicians just buy raising taxes on imports, but these politicians get kick backs by these "great" corporations that bottom dollar and screw every company that makes a product they sell.
O and i am a US manufacturer(family owned for 60yrs) Walmart IS destroying this country.
@JSpecGC8 People (I am not saying you specifically) seem to constantly complain over the things we do not have and easily forget about the great things we do. Also, many of them condemn large corps like starbucks, Walmart, etc...for putting others out of business and for being such a large corp...They got this way by being the best at what they do, this is why those companies became so large. Look at Ben & Jerrys ice cream. I don't see any protests over this.
@TheMNlongboarders I have to agree with you there. Because of shity economics, every person is forced to do everything they can to save money. I need cheaper for my family and I. Truthfully, I can't afford to pay that extra money on everything I buy, nor pay the gas to travel to 90 different places to get the things I need.
this movie is rediculous. makes me mad as a lumberjack without pancakes. the american dream means that anyone can come to america and start over again, get a job, and raise a succesfull family. but thanks to walmart, the american dream has been carelessly flushed away by the low prices that allow us to buy twinkies for $2.50 a box, buy one get one half off. we sacrifice the lives of families and children, make them live on food stamps and live in awful conditions. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.REDICULOUS!
And last…. “Our associates whom we LOVE and VALUE so much” ….. Yes, Massa loves his slaves. Massa couldn’t eat up the world if it didn’t have people to do it…. And they do it so cheaply too!!! Damn, we don’t have to pay these people anything…. They don’t even get profit sharing. Yes, we love our cheap slave labor force, they are a value commodity.
“Wal Mart is too important to individual Families that are stretching a budget, too important to suppliers who employ millions of people……”
The percentage of families that are stretching their bugets has gone through the roof BECAUSE of Wal Mart. The suppliers who employ millions…….The Chinese??? The suppliers that used to employ Americans at a decent living wage until the predatory governmental assisted practices of Wal Mart….
Best quote from this movie: At 13:34 "They don't get it, when I start talking about quality of life, they start talking about cheap underware. I keep saying: You can't buy small town quality of life at a Wal Mart, they don't sell it. But once they steal it, you can't buy it back at any price"
All the money sucked out of small town america, jobs gone, businesses gone....walmart supported corporatocracies. All that money sucked into bentonville arkansas, best known in that area of the country for it's love of the kkk and overt racism.
"Alas...so sorry America, I'd rather save $2.00 at WalMart then give a damn about anything else."
Did you not watch this? Every dollar you spend at WalMart actually costs you (and your state and community) more in taxes - in addition to destroying local businesses.
Freaking sheep. You deserve the fleecing that's coming - fast. Thanks for dragging the rest of us down with you.
Excellent video, *****!! But alas, I'm a Wal Mart shopper. A loaf of bread is still around $2.88 for Pepperidge Farm. Been this way for over 5 years now. There's a Save Alot Food Store down the road from where I live, but they don't have the quality foods I eat, while Wal Mart seems to carry most of them.
With more than 5,000 stores, one might think they want to rule the world.
But thanks to Maximall, Wal-Mart is losing this race. Why is that? Because Wal Mart, doesn't have "automated shopping carts, with an attitude". In fact, here's a video about a worker, who crossed the line; watch?NR=1&v=64KIoexsups
And when america complains about the cheap products made in china, China is to be blamed because stores like Wal-Mart push prices so low that quality becomes almost unattainable. Instead of blaming the Chinese entirely (which do have faults in this) how about you start questioning the business ethics of US corporate giants. If you don't believe me that there is corporate greed then what about the current financial crisis, since the elimination of the glass ste
glass steagall act, which allowed investment banks and commercial banks to merge, sophisticated financial instruments that no one really could understand emerged and flooded the world markets. How is it then that other countries who such as england, which has never had a barrier between investment banks and commercial banks, have been fine but when America does it chaos occurs?
In Ireland, supermarkets are restricted as to how big they can be and this has stopped the likes of Asda, the English branch of Wal-Mart and Costco. At the moment, our government is looking into deregulating these restrictions.
Our government are looking into this because the IMF are making them! Why do they want to suck even more of our revenuce out of the island and kill even more local jobs, local economies and local communities?
I try to avoid wal-mart (aka wally world aka sprawl mart) like the plague. Once I started to sign up for a wal-mart credit card & changed my mind & dumped the page yet it had my contact info on it & I believe their "we only "share" your info with wal-mart partners" means every fraud rip-off scamer & identity thief with money can buy your info. My ohine number I put down started getting flooded with scam calls.
Hillary Clinton sat on the Board of Directors for 6 years and left the year Bill became President. 2 Years later, NAFTA was signed into law, lending a HUGE hand to corporations like Walmart. The "agreement" gave US jobs to other countries. It signed away a piece of our sovereignty and will lead the way to the Amero.
How much stock did they own? With the inside knowledge that Wallmart would become huge after NAFTA, they raked in huge profits, undoubtedly. WHY ARE THEY NOT IN JAIL???
as a current walmart employee i can tell you this film is not propaganda, this corporation screws everyone it comes into contact with. i was hired 1 1/2 months ago and already im experiencing the shit the employees in this film experienced. short-staffing forcing us to do the jobs of 2 or 3 people, working weekends and im scheduled to work all of thanksgiving day which means little time with family. if you speak out they will lower your hours to nothing forcing the person to quit. its pathetic.
@206Dawgs I've been employed since May, I'm looking forward to resigning tomorrow! I'm taking over my family's business this spring and had picked up the Walmart job for the summer/winter before spring. It really is pathetic how they keep everyone part time, you need several jobs to even make a living anymore.
@FatherPatOphelia Actually no, I have my own business. I do not accept any government programs, I despise having to be dependent on others I'd rather starve.
Wal*Mart started off the same as any other "Mom and Pop" store. Nobody took it seriously when it started, and now it's the biggest superstore in the world. People who think that it's "evil" just because it's doing well are idiots. Get the fuck over yourselves, and go buy reasonably priced goods from Wal*Mart. We have small businesses right next to Wal*Mart, and they're business has tripled because of it, because people came to Wal*Mart, saw those stores, and went in to see what they had.
@maniamaster2 People who respect/admire Wal-Mart's business is the idiot. U must consider Wal-Mart's overall business & lack of morals/ethics. They obtain their "success" by enslaving foreign people (pay them less than $3 a day, work them dawn till night) to make all their merchandise & promote by selling so cheap. They are a dirty greedy billion dollar corporation that gives two fucks about you/community & want to take over/dominate the entire retail business. Wal-Mart disgusts me!
@iijdgaf Well, good for you. But many people depend on the low prices of Wal*Mart, and without them literally could not live. And all the videos saying that Wal*Mart is some evil corporation just makes those people feel as if they should just die because they can't afford to shop anywhere else. All these videos are done by people who don't really know what they're talking about, and they all have something to gain by pushing Wal*Mart out of the picture. Otherwise, they'd protest Darfur, etc.
@maniamaster2 did you even watch this video? there are many wrongs done in our society and there shouldn't be any reason that caring individuals must pick and choose between things that they want to fight for-or against. after having discussions about walmart with friends of mine, moral relativity, in the sense that no two situations can be exactly the same always comes up. and to that, some come to the realization that it is better to know the wrong you're doing than to ignorantly proceed.
@maniamaster2 Thats a little but ego of you isnt it !! As long you can live and wall*mart can excist for YOU - who cares about the people in foreign country's who have no right at all and still working 24/7 for wall*mart!!!! I guess its me but as long there no EQUEL rights for ALL - ITS NOT RIGHT!!
And you speak about people in your country who have it better anyways ??? C'mon that alone IS selfish !!!!
Dude you make no sense & have lost all your credibility; you are one lost puppy (easily brainwashed & fooled)! There are many places you can get cheap stuff at (dollar/99 cent store)! I (as a financially struggling student) take pride in shopping at private stores and thrift shops; I know my money is going to help their families/business/employees. I don't need Wal-Mart's low prices or any other corporation to survive & that's a fact!!
Vote for Ron Paul 2012 [youtube his debates; he's amazing!
@iijdgaf Funny that you would say all that, and then say "Vote for Rand Paul" when his trickle down economics gives out money to big corporations like Wal*Mart, so that they can expand. Then they move to other countries and open up there. And those Republicans know they're going to do that, ad they act like they're shocked that the economy is so bad.
@NverEnoughDeathMetal If anything Dr. Ron Paul's policies would eliminate monopolist corporations like Walmary by removing government grants and incentives.
Chinese girl "respectable walmart customer can you please stop shoving free samples in your mouth and stop scratching down there for one minute please.
I have to tell you something about that toy...!
Fat 400lb customer I don't care.
then they ask her where the cheese-its are like she works there...!
I agree.. Walmart needs to be stopped. I'm currently an employee at one. They work us to death for little pay. If I wasn't living with my parents, I would be homeless, because I don't make very much a month. It is impossible to shop local in my community because everyone has gone out of business. There are very few places that still make enough to keep afloat. I think Walmart is destroying our economy.. and I try not to shop there if I can help it.
@Desirai Like I said get a copy of this DVD and play in electronics. then plan a walkout on black friday and hit'em where it hurts. even if it's just 20 people that join you that will cost them thousands every hour. because some people won't wait in line 45 minutes to get a toaster for $5. btw once the news covers it the mindless masses with realise how much that $3 sweater really costs. of course 60% of em will still shop there but it's that other 40% that will make them lose millions.!
@METALMAN4Wii nice planning! Though I need a good reference on my resume since I mostly only have worked under the table farming which doesn't help me get work. My plan was to sabotage their Christmas music CD.. replace it with some parody Christmas music. It's the most fattening time of the year!!
Super market chains shop chains notorious in The Netherlands too. What can you do if there is no other job available and no welfare ? Any way ; supermarket and shops in The Netherlands almost only hire teens. Some of the staff is above 20 but that is just one or two. And it's only part time jobs. No contracts. Maybe for one year. How can you plan a future on that. The main super market chain is called Ahold / Albert Heijn a family owned business also active in the USA.

RebelQueen1213 2 weeks ago
wal-mart cares nothing about the workers or the communities. they only care about that money. they scream team work but once u help another worker u get coached. all the small business that close there doors bc they cant compete against wal-mart is sad. why does wal-mart feel that they have to have one wal-mart 5 minutes down the road from another one? really? to all u who love wal-mart think about the little man who is struggling to keep his door open. the one who has been around for years.
RebelQueen1213 2 weeks ago
@RebelQueen1213 And - more importantly, a small business who owner who presents honest goods, honest wages and pays honest taxes, instead of a wealthy family who bribe the government into paying NO taxes so they can party it away in other countries. Corporate welfare slugs who live off the backs of their underpaid workers' taxes.

I wish more people would buy products made in America but even when it says made in America it is usually only assembled here the parts almost always come from elsewhere. And as far as this So called "Documentary" or movie its easy to make anyone look bad when it is a one side only story. Not to say I support them just be fair to both sides and if you are right it will come through.
mhdoe 3 weeks ago
I hate Wal-Mart. I truly despise them and avoid them like the plague. I have spent less than $100 there in the past year, and then only to get things that I could not get at a competitive price elsewhere. I am pro union. Having said that, I find this documentary to be waaaaaay too one sided. I want to hear Wal-Mart's side of the story. I know it's justifications of how it does business will be laughable, but the way this was produced makes it seem like a UFCW recruiting video. Objectivity???

CarpoSectors4LIFE 3 weeks ago
@CarpoSectors4LIFE in another documentary Scott said Wal-Mart pays industry average wages & most of their employees are full time + have the health insurance. He says they have good benefits but if they offered more, they'd have to raise prices and hurt poor shoppers that depend on them. It's all BS since they're so big they define the industry average. Wal-Mart could increase pay / benefits without raising prices if the Waltons would forgo a tiny part of their vast income.
workingstiff76 2 weeks ago
@workingstiff76 whats the name of this documentary please
jaade188 2 weeks ago
The worst part is the Walton Family would barely notice if a billion or two was diverted to the associates, but an extra few dollars an hour could substantially improve the life of an employee. I am not saying Wal-Mart should give all of their employees huge raises and posh benefits, but if they are making good profits and their employees have to depend on public assistance, something is very wrong. The Waltons and other stakeholders are being given subsidies by taxpayers.
workingstiff76 2 weeks ago
Wal-Mart free for years! That corporation is ruining this town of 5,000 people, more and more private stores closing their doors. Here's your best option; find your local hemp store, their clothes will last 10x longer than the crap from China and won't contain toxins from DuPont. It will also help strengthen your local economy.

You have to balance the system.

There was a time when US autoworkers and manufacturing people set the pace for US wages. Now it's Wal-Mart, where every job costs the local taxpayers some $2,200 in taxpayer subsidies to Medicaid, Section 8 rent subsidies, and school lunch programs (never mind the taxpayer giveaways on property taxes and other deals). this is just as timely as it was when first released.
martingrau98 1 month ago
The documentary is OK overall. However, it was too slow and could have been summed up to under an hour. Something that came to mind while watching: the part about the parking lot crimes is really misleading. If a shooting or robbery happens inside a supermarket, is the supermarket's fault? No. It's the police who must take care of it. It's stupid how the video is trying to blame WalMart for not confronting crime (which is inherently not their responsibility to begin with).

This "documentary" is misinforming people.
antiacido2 2 months ago
@antiacido2 - they are making what they worth? Who are you judge the value of a human life? The theft of a working day's wage is not good for the nation. Yes, the tax dollars are already taken. I'm happy to pay them to help those who need help. But I expect those who are able to work full time to also be able to care themselves full time and contribute taxes too, not live off the dole. Walmart lives off the dole. We outlawed share cropping and Jim Crow Laws...now we need a new direction
mrk1839 2 months ago
@mrk1839 People there are making what their labor is worth. I'm not judging, I'm just saying how it is. Walmart doesn't set the wages, the workers don't set the wages either. The market does. If people can't find a job that pays better than what they do now at WM, then that they make now is what their labor's worth. If you want to create your own company and pay your employees more than what they are worth, please go ahead and see for how long you stay n business.
antiacido2 2 months ago
@mrk1839 It is not WM's fault that government with all the ridiculous regulations discourage people from open businesses so you see a large amount of people looking for jobs and a few amount of employers. It is already bad for businesses and corporations to stay open. And now you guys want to make it even worse for us, the workers because if is not profitable for WM to have stores in the US they will go somewhere else, hiring people over there and not here.
antiacido2 2 months ago
They don't give a damn about their employees..Working them only a few hours a week and for little pay....
wvhillbilly280 2 months ago
It is all about results baby, Walmart is one of the most successful corporations in the world because they cut costs so they can offer low prices. It is a win win situation. People who don't want to buy there or don't want to work there are free to go somewhere else. I don't see how anyone would have a problem with Wal Mart.
antiacido2 2 months ago
@antiacido2 did you even watch this? If so, I don't understand how you could still be making this statement.
itsbrandoyo 2 months ago
@itsbrandoyo I watched the video. I think it is sad how people can believe this BS. WM is a privately owned company. They have the right to pay their employees what they are worth and the people have the right to quit if they don't like it there. And people don't have to buy there if they don't want. They can pay their CEO's whatever t hey think they are worth, etc. This is not even complicated, it is very easy to understand.
antiacido2 2 months ago
@antiacido2 Yes, they have a right to do what they want, and we have a right to decide not to shop there ... but this documentary is just showing the truth behind what goes on, so that people can make an informed decision.

What jobs brother, they killed off more jobs outsourcing factories, putting smaller businesses out, and breaking the law on selling practices. The would actually have employees go to other stores to find out what they were selling the same items for. If the price was at cost they would go LOWER, which is illegal. This is all well and documented.
JSpecGC8 2 months ago
@JSpecGC8 I hear what you are saying and have thought about it more than somewhat. My opinion is this...walmart creates over 1.5ish million jobs in the United States alone. Crappy wages or not, getting paid $7.50 is much better than $0 hour. Are we in agreement with this? Having a job is better than not having one. Although it may not be enough to live incredibly comfortably, imagine trying to survive off of absolutely no paycheck at all.
Joeysnamehere 2 months ago

I think Wal-Mart should replace all their greeters with 6 year old chinese kids who shine everybody's shoes for 10 cents a day.

PelikanM200 3 months ago
@PelikanM200 instead of blaming the chinese, why don't we americans blame ourselves? i say that is what the us citizens get for shopping at wal-mart.

We have small businesses right next to Wal*Mart, and they're business has tripled because of it, because people came to Wal*Mart, saw those stores, and went in to see what they had.
maniamaster2 3 months ago
@maniamaster2 People who respect/admire Wal-Mart's business is the idiot. U must consider Wal-Mart's overall business & lack of morals/ethics. They obtain their "success" by enslaving foreign people (pay them less than $3 a day, work them dawn till night) to make all their merchandise & promote by selling so cheap. They are a dirty greedy billion dollar corporation that gives two fucks about you/community & want to take over/dominate the entire retail business. Wal-Mart disgusts me!
iijdgaf 3 months ago
@iijdgaf Well, good for you. But many people depend on the low prices of Wal*Mart, and without them literally could not live. And all the videos saying that Wal*Mart is some evil corporation just makes those people feel as if they should just die because they can't afford to shop anywhere else. All these videos are done by people who don't really know what they're talking about, and they all have something to gain by pushing Wal*Mart out of the picture. Otherwise, they'd protest Darfur, etc.
maniamaster2 3 months ago
@maniamaster2 did you even watch this video? there are many wrongs done in our society and there shouldn't be any reason that caring individuals must pick and choose between things that they want to fight for-or against. after having discussions about walmart with friends of mine, moral relativity, in the sense that no two situations can be exactly the same always comes up. and to that, some come to the realization that it is better to know the wrong you're doing than to ignorantly proceed.
doylewl 3 months ago

Vote for Ron Paul 2012 [youtube his debates; he's amazing!
iijdgaf 3 months ago
@iijdgaf Funny that you would say all that, and then say "Vote for Rand Paul" when his trickle down economics gives out money to big corporations like Wal*Mart, so that they can expand. Then they move to other countries and open up there. And those Republicans know they're going to do that, ad they act like they're shocked that the economy is so bad.
maniamaster2 3 months ago
@maniamaster2 what makes you claim that ron paul's economics gives out money to big corporations like waI-mart? what do you base this on?
NverEnoughDeathMetal 2 months ago
@NverEnoughDeathMetal If anything Dr. Ron Paul's policies would eliminate monopolist corporations like Walmary by removing government grants and incentives.
