A Free Tibet, doen't necessary meant complete removal of the Chinese presence in Tibet. It just meant greater autonomy. In fact, China and Tibet always have an agreement that you don't seek independence and threaten Chinese interest, you can do w/e you like, and we will not bug you. This the policy followed by both Qing dynasty and Republic of China. It is only a problem when Mao and the CCP dogs took power and try to break this agreement, now we need to work out something new.

I am well aware of what Tibet was like before the supposedly liberation. But is it relevant to how they were treated today? Surely the Aztecs, Mayans and Incans did quite a nasty things to their own people before the inquisition, does it make what the conquistadors done less sinful?

Let me remind you that in case of a military conflict, its the Mainland which will provide security for HK, and not the other way around. From 陳巧文's interviews, I think her main motivation is to advocate/promote improving human rights or freedom of speech for Chinese. I support and echo with her on the philosophy behind this. However, I don't support using the "free Tibet" cause as a outfit for that philosophy. The original "free Tibet" campaign pushed by Dalai Lama and the oversea Tibetan groups was to ask Tibet to become an independent country outside of China.

A Free Tibet, doen't necessary meant complete removal of the Chinese presence in Tibet. It just meant greater autonomy. In fact, China and Tibet always have an agreement that you don't seek independence and threaten Chinese interest, you can do w/e you like, and we will not bug you. This the policy followed by both Qing dynasty and Republic of China. It is only a problem when Mao and the CCP dogs took power and try to break this agreement, now we need to work out something new.

Its true that day there were lots of mainland tourist,these days HK visas are easily available 4 mainlanders by help of travel agencies.I had to go GZ that evening i could not get a seat in thorogh train it was FULL for the whole nite,u can check this fact from MTR.So took the local train to border,it was jam packed until border gate.

Anyways, the Chinese Communist Party runs the People's Republic of China, ergo, CCP=PRC. Whether the CCP is still a "communist" government, or a centralized capitalist minded oligarchy is another debate.
Btw I intensly dislike Mao for this economic policies. However, I have to give him credit for uniting China AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, fighting off the damn Japs. Which other Chinese leader stood up to the Japs during the War of Resistance?

We don't fear anybody attacking HK, HK is an international interest with large portion of private holdings.The only fear is that Mao's Red Army taking over HK and destryoin it with its tanks.But dont worry most of HK ppl. including politicians and business ppl. have a foreign passport and offshore accounts.

Wrong, the PRC DOES MEAN CHINA! The Mandate of Heaven goes to whomever runs China proper. Otherwise, I could argue that the Han and Qin Dynasties were not Chinese Dynasties, but rather foreign sovereignties with political borders in the Yellow River area. Likewise, few would argue that the Qing Dynasty was not China. Thus, PRC is CHINA.

I have no problem with ppl who say that HK has its own laws to some degree, while at the same time is an integral part of the greater Chinese political world.
However, you insinuate that ppl in HK are somehow privileged due to right of birth on that peninsula. Let me remind you that in case of a military conflict, its the Mainland which will provide security for HK, and not the other way around. You realize that all ppl in HK and almost all in Taiwan have ancestral ties to Mainland.

I look at all the videos of the Olympic relay in HK and I see an overwhelming majority of China supporters, patriots, and nationalists. Then I see Christina Chan and a few of her cracker friends.
If HK really is against China as you put it, why isn't there a widespread revolt? Why are police throwing Chan into a police vehicle, instead of the pro-China majority?
By the way, HK becomes a full on Chinese city by 2047. I look forward to that.

This had nothing to do with freedom of expression. This is about safety of individuals.
If she was sanctioned a protest permit, given regulated space, and she was still attacked, then something should be done. Until then, she was being escorted away safely using Chinese tax dollars.
If it were up to me, I would agree with you in that the police shouldn't take her away. They should just let her get beat by the patriotic protesters.

For sure HK is not Paris,London or SF but also we are not like Shanghai,Beijing or any chinese cities where there is no freedom at ALL to express a descent human rights. HK is a blessing for freedom fighters be it Taiwanese, Tinamen, Tibetans for more autonomy or falun gong for their religious freedom. While HK people are proud of being HKers, almost all of them recognize the rise of Chinese culture and power, and patriotically embrace it. Look, if even droves of ethnic Chinese in SF and Singapore embrace the rise of China, do you honestly think Chinese in HK will somehow find it repulsive?
Not to mention many of these overseas ethnic Chinese were once supporters of the KMT, yet they now wave the red flags as a sign of Chinese unity in the face of western bias.

More than 5000 Tibetans whether they participated in the protests or not are in prison as of now. They should be fairly trialed under the Chinese Constitution.

Any sort of violence should be condemned whether they are Tibetans or Chinese. I think those few Tibetans that have intentionally killed Chinese innocents in Tibet should be persecuted under fair trial of Chinese court. Same thing goes for the 203 Tibetans that were killed in TAR, Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan and Yunnan. Those people were killed, and their killers should be persecuted as well.

Allow Free Media into Tibet so that we all as Tibetans, and Chinese can be informed at all times what is really happening in Tibet.
None of us really know anything because we all depend on a few governmental news agency. Xinhua, CCTV etc...isn't enough. There should be a 3rd independent media inside Tibet.

Christina Chan is not interested in promoting anything other than herself. From her interviews, it's clear she has no particular knowledge of Tibet. She only spews out typical canned political statements. And especially after personal photos of her were released, she has become a laughingstock of Hong Kong. If she knew just how badly she harmed Tibet's image that day, should would stop what she's doing.
If I were the Dalai Lama, I would ask she keep a lower profile next time.

From 陳巧文's interviews, I think her main motivation is to advocate/promote improving human rights or freedom of speech for Chinese. I support and echo with her on the philosophy behind this. However, I don't support using the "free Tibet" cause as a outfit for that philosophy. The original "free Tibet" campaign pushed by Dalai Lama and the oversea Tibetan groups was to ask Tibet to become an independent country outside of China.
