@AnonymousGameTag well, I have played Simons Quest, the gameplay is good it's still as satisfying as the original, the problem is there are sooooo many pointlessly cryptic things in the game, e.g. the second town you come to (town of veros), you have to enter a building, and choose the fourth block along, and drop holy water to break it, to find the guy who sells teh chain whip. Who the fuck is meant to work that out first time playing? it's not there are any clues.

AVGN, you are so right about the room right before your battle with Death (Level 15) of the first Castlevania. It SUCKS!!!!!! Not to mention the worse part, you have to go through that hall AND face Death with NO Pork Loin to give you health to have a shot at winning against Death.

It is like running a marathon without a drop of water, and then going to fight Mike Tyson for 12 rounds, its horrible!

@matthias66 Actually, if you want to beat the hall before the Grim Reaper, all you need is the holy water (save it all through the game from level 3 on). Using it you can kill the knights using only one or two holy waters. The Grim Reaper can be kept in a frozen state by constantly throwing holy water on the platform on which he appears. Easy once you know the trick.

@DanielGjorwell Yeah, I could see holy water doing the trick, I know it has a stun effect on the enemies in Castlevania.

All I had to work with was the Cross/Boomerang. I ended up focusing on attacking the Medusa heads that were weaving in and out, and hoping I'd hit the Axe Knights by whipping and moving forward after I destroyed a Medusa head.

I ended up just spamming Crosses/Boomerang on the knights and dodging the Medusa heads. It was brutal, but I got through it (barely)!

@darkknightstudios88 Nah the holy cross is by FAR the best weapon. The holy water is second.best. Sure it does a lot of damage but only if the enemy is in that ONE spot. Now if its a big boss then yeah spam that fucker all ya want with it.

@oldskoolrocker1000 Against a lot of the enemies, I agree totally, but the thing is, the holy water stops the enemy (provided they take more then one hit) if they come into contact with it, keeping them in the fire that it lingers, and therefore kills them in one hit. And even still, several enemies die when they only get touched by the holy perfume. Medusas? Not a problem. Bats? Nope. Knights? Fuck you. Grim Reaper? Shove that holy water up his ass. Hahaha.

I find the hall before the grim reaper pretty easy. Just use a hole bunch of holy water to immobilize and slowly kill the knights while also killing some medusas. Then use the whip to kill the rest of the medusas.
