  • But you also can improve if you ever go to an advanced tactical go during either the summer or the winter because only the dedicated will go because I had recently often back from one and we didn't do simulations or anything only two but at our range and they didn't have their "A" squad cuz of Easter just a piece of info don't want anyone elses experience to turn out as a waste of time like ours

  • I would own you in a gunfight

  • like i said, there's a lesson in it: training can easily go out the window in any vaguely stressful situation. ultimately, the steps don't matter in the real world: is the target down, am i safe? dropping 3 targets in 4 seconds with a .45 would be pretty effective. i think my shooting speaks for itself, and the instructors thought so, as well.

oh, and since you're 14 i'll give you a tip: pre-emptively telling people to not argue with you is a sure way to look like a massive douche.

  • Hahaha this is bad but i mean ur in a four day so I can understand. Don't go to step three everytime and actually look with the quick checks. Don't try and argue about this comment please I know what I'm talking about I've been to frontsight 2 times first was a four day I DGed and this past weekend was a advanced tactical and I'm only 14 yrs old

  • I thought "force on force" involved someone shooting back at you (paint ball, wax bullets, whatever)

I didn't think shooting at steel was force on force?

  • @MrRott01 yeah, that's usually what i take it to mean, too. FS does do Simunition force-on-force for the advanced classes.

i think they called it that because it was two people competing with identical targets, thus shooting against one another.

  • @MrRott01 lol i wanna see you go out and volunteer to be hit by wax bullets.

  • Why do you return to step 3 in your presentation before going into your after action drills instead of just going down to the ready? Seems like an unnecessary extra step...

  • @booya155 you know... that's a very good question. i'm not really sure! it wasn't something i was consciously doing, i just felt like i wanted to pause before after-action. weapon retention? not sure.

so i guess there's a lesson: you can spend three days learning a skill but in something approaching a stressful shooting you may find yourself doing other things without thought. practice, practice, practice.

  • Fat guy in a little shirt has a weird after action drill going on.

  • What's up with the tight shirt? I should be that proud of my love handles. Just kidding. Little slow but they will get there and lets not shoot the hostage next time. Good work overall gentlemen.

  • @x3mj lol thanks - i actually had left my overshirt at the hotel that day. i was using a fleece for concealment drills but, damn, got too hot after a while.

sometimes i still wonder if i'm actually faster WITH a concealment garment... a sufficiently fast flip-open places my hand perfectly above the holster.

  • I'm getting nostalgic...
