The beginning of Bioshock 2 takes place in 1958, but Subject Delta shot himself with a pistol and didn't wake up until 1968. That is about eight years(1960) after the event of Jack arriving in Rapture where he saw this Johnny getting killed by Rose.

The only part that REALLY SCARED THE CRAP out of me was in the medical pavillion and there was fog and after that i was looting and when I looked behind me, out of nowhere, a doctor splicer is standing right behind me and I just scream!!! I wonder if you searched that part of the level because it is very well hidden

The only part that really caught me off guard was in the dentist area when the room fogs up a few times and you expect something to pop out after it clears but nothing does. then it fogs one last time and when you turn around a splicer is behind you just staring at you.

the scariest parts for me were stepping out of the bathspere, stepping into the tower, and having the door close behind me, but most of all, it was approaching the shadow on the wall of the infirmary only to have the lights turn off. leaving me in the darkness with my thoughts of terror and inner torment. the lights come back on and the figure is gone. leaving me with shock and a horrible stain in my pants

man when i started the game for the first time i was alone in my house and the lights were off in my basement then after the splicer kills the guy my TV turned off(like it always dose at 9:30) so i was in the pitch black darkness i screamed holy fuck and a cop came over to see if everything was ok lol

F.E.A.R was much scarier than Bioshock. Bioshock was a MUCHHH better game...Bioshock has to be one of the BEST games on the 360. It's just sooo atmospheric and tense that you get sucked into the game. Rapture becomes a living breathing world and that is what makes this game so great. ANND i should also mention that Bioshock has very satisfying gameplay. It's smooth and extremely easy to master. There's just so much you can do with plasmids!! i love it!

It took me 10 minutes before I had the balls to leave the bathysphere at the beginning and another 10 minutes before I moved another yard.

That last scene also scared the crap outta me! I was panicking and just shooting everywhere and couldn't find the freaking exit.

@cory19922 HELL YEAH, fatal frame made me NOT want to play the game sometimes, not because it wasn't fun or scary, but because it made me feel TOO vulnerable. That game is a horror masterpiece...the fact that you ONLY have a camera was a genius move by the game developer. If they had come out with a next gen fatal frame for PS3 or the 360, imagine how scary that could be...*shiver*...hehhh.

The first plasmid cutscene was definately scary, as it felt ALMOST real. The bit with splicers banging on the window was also scary as hell, but when you realise that there's only three, it does kind of subtract from the value. The Bouncer scene is really scary, until you meet one and kill it with relative ease. That cutscene could have been used to extreme effectiveness to make sure you NEVER disturbed a Big Daddy.

The scariest part for me is before you meet doctor steinman, and you go into the water around the corner and there is a splicer back there. She turns off the lights and you don't know where she is. Never did i have a feeling of dread like i did in Dead Space. Sure it's disturbing, but NOBODY is going to mistake this for Silent Hill or Fatal Frame, i'll tell you that much.

idk if anyone is familar with those "trail of terror" type walks that some places do around Halloween, but they're massive tours through themed areas that can take up to 2 hours to walk through, they always have parts based on different movies, but I think a Bioshock themed area, if well done, could be quite an experience
