She looks bored out of her wits. Nuclear fusion cant even get her excited. Then boyfriend chimes in with "actually" like dipshit hasn't said enough. Then Deb looks really bored.
The idea seems to be to have a conversation that isn't about their professional carers etc, but its just inane because Coco Crystal is wrecked or something, and it just comes across as pseudo-intelligent. Its great footage though, in its on way, because they're two of the coolest people in the history of popular culture. TV Party was much better.
First, let me say thanks for posting this extremely unique interview with Debbie and Chris. And I mean that! You won't get questions and talk like this on a real show. :) It's great!! This must be a community access cable show.
Ironically, the host is super high and Debbie and Chris actually seem sober. Debbie is quite articulate here (well, maybe in part 2) and she's no dumb blonde. Wow, Debbie is so soft-spoken and cute here. I wish the host wasn't smashed out of her mind. :)
Hi. Yeah it was a community access cable show, and it was on around the same time as TV Party, for which Chris was co-host (it was a much better show, it seems to me). I'm wondering why you seem surprised that Debbie is "quite articulate" and "no dumb blonde"? We're talking about an extremely iconoclastic person who, along with her fellow band members, wrote some of the greatest music and lyrics in pop music and initiated a positive change in popular culture. Maybe I picked you up wrong?
Pretty natural on stage I reckon. You should read "Making Tracks : The Rise of Blondie". She co-wrote it with Chris and Victor Bokris around 1980. Its great. Thanks.

cool to see this! "Corporate monopoly" dictating. Its nice to see something so out of the ordinary as this. Disturbing that the interviewer looks so out of it though, but that is just part of the whole feel of the era! Blondie was way ahead of their scene anyway! This just proves it!
It's a rare interview when Debbie is less stoned than the presenter!

It's just that alot of the old clips that I've seen of Debbie is when she's high on stage while performing. Maybe that's just her on-stage persona.
