I can't speak to your particular situation because there are too many variables involved, such as the type of position you are willing to accept . I once worked three "lowly" jobs at once when unemployment was twice what it is now (mid 80s). Work can be found much more easily now. Still, it's understandable that you would prefer a position in the field that you have been trained for! Was there demand in your field before Jindal was elected? How has he made it more difficult for you?

Yes all money is created out of thin air. But at this point it is inflationary. Secondly, the money is not coming from current taxes but taxes future taxes so no one's getting their money back, we are all pre paying based on Washington's plans. Why should states take federal money in the first place if they have their own. The only reason the fed CAN hand out money is because they print it out of nothing. The states don't have that power. I think Jindal's decision is tough yet responsible.

I have heard about sunset provisions that might apply, but the problem is the wording of the stimulus package, which many lawmakers did not get a chance to fully go through before having to vote on it. The word "permanent" is written into the package for the changes that is required for the unemployment money. If, as you say, he is willing to take 99.9% of the money, than how can you say that he is fighting OB every step of the way? He is only fighting what he sees will hurt us.

I am from Louisiana (Gov. Jindal), and I am absolutely livid that he is refusing the stimulus money that I will have to pay for in the future through my taxes. I understand his argument and I agree on principal, but I am not willing to sacrifice $100 million dollars and the economic well being of the people of my state based on principal. Gov. For instance the federal government pays the bill for the first 2 years and then creates an unnecessary burden on the state. I can't speak to your particular situation because there are too many variables involved, such as the type of position you are willing to accept . I once worked three "lowly" jobs at once when unemployment was twice what it is now (mid 80s). Work can be found much more easily now. Still, it's understandable that you would prefer a position in the field that you have been trained for! Was there demand in your field before Jindal was elected? How has he made it more difficult for you?

In Bobby Jindal's case should Louisiana take the money if it means that the States loose the power over how they can disperse the funds to their constituents? Yes all money is created out of thin air. But at this point it is inflationary. Secondly, the money is not coming from current taxes but taxes future taxes so no one's getting their money back, we are all pre paying based on Washington's plans. Why should states take federal money in the first place if they have their own. The only reason the fed CAN hand out money is because they print it out of nothing. The states don't have that power. I think Jindal's decision is tough yet responsible.

Gov. Jindal never said that he would turn down funds for Hwy repair. Pay attention. It's only the unemployment funds that would eventually hurt the state of Louisiana that he is saying no to. That part of the package comes with strings that would force tax hikes down the road and harm business.

I have heard about sunset provisions that might apply, but the problem is the wording of the stimulus package, which many lawmakers did not get a chance to fully go through before having to vote on it. The word "permanent" is written into the package for the changes that is required for the unemployment money. If, as you say, he is willing to take 99.9% of the money, than how can you say that he is fighting OB every step of the way? He is only fighting what he sees will hurt us.

When Lyndon Johnson was about to sign this bill, Southern (racists) Democrats who later turned Republican said to Johnson "If you pass this, your going to lose the South". All American Working Class folks need to move out of the Republican States. Move out of Louisiana and these other Republican states and go live in Democratic States where you will get a job with a decent wage and a place for you and your families and good schools and low crime. While the Republican States will rot with unemployment, fucked up schools, and the worst living conditions... All because these fools want to play politics instead of helping real people!!!!

The problem is that those "American Working Class" folks are the ones that elect these Republicans. All they think of when they see the word "Democrat" is anti-god, anti-guns, and pro-taxes. Your average working class person is DUMB, that is why they are in the working class(of which I am part). They buy the Republican propaganda along with their beer and cigarettes.
