  • Family Guy just parodied this!

  • I wandered into the part of youtube full of old tv themes and they sound better than any tv could reproduce back then :D

  • I supppose one has to be careful about being nostalgic because it's too easy to have rose tinted views about the past, but we have lost something by letting all these machines dominate our lives and losing our spiritual bond with nature.

  • This and The Waltons where the best family shows of all time sadly tv gone down and now is directed at cynical amoral youth reality shows etc.

  • What's this? We had a different opening theme tune in the UK, end theme the same though. ..Or am I thinking of The Waltons...

  • Yea they were!

  • THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIEND....

  • The little girl's surname is greenbush, funny that, because as she was runnig down the hill she fell over into a green bush. lol

  • Una serie muy humana, hecha con gran cariño. Grandes recuerdos.

  • I always wanted to see Big House on the Prairie.

  • My god I forgot .......

  • wasn't that shaggy dog named jack? and didn't they also have a black & white dog named bandit?

  • Hey you! This was on wednesdays ....... :)

  • i am 44 now and thank you for this memory. i always waited for dinner and watch this while taking my dinner in the living room. i really love micheal landon

  • RIP Michael Landon

  • What a crap show

  • i miss the good ol days . . ..this brings back memories . .

  • loved watching this as a kid

  • As a young boy I was so in love with Laura, disliked Nellie because she was so snobbish and not to mention her mom, knows everyone business and drove her husband up the wall ,loved those memories, loved the intro use to play as a child on the recorder.

  • Yes I have a question, which episode of little house on the prairie is the one where the man with the beard is going to shoot himself and Michael Landon kicks the gun and says what in Gods name are you doing? please let me know.

  • Chips and Little House On The Prairie back to back the best 2 hours in tv ever, the other best 2hours ever was Three's Company, Happy Days, Taxi and Too Close for Comfort back to back

  • Karen Grassle was a bit miscast as a teacher!

  • In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.

  • The Waltons & House on the Prarie to two best shows about pioneer life.

  • Love that outro theme

  • pura serie de locas sesenteras

  • The Dukes of Hazzard, Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, The Andy Griffith Show... you can't beat 'em. :)

  • I remember this when I was just a little baby. I had a crush on Nellie because she was so beautiful, but once I got older, I did not like her character at all.

  • THE BEST EVER T.V SERIES .

  • Thumbs up if you had no clue when you were younger that Willie & Laura were actually brother & sister in real life. I never made the connection, just thought they had the same last name.

  • this is me and my sister sitting in my grandma's house not far from the north coast of ireland

  • the end theme is so peaceful and euphoric

  • The very beginning sounds roughly like Star Trek: VOY

  • im 23 and when i was little a channel used to show this in the morning and me and my mom would watch it now we watch it on dvd and the hallmark channel

  • Como si lo tuviera 10 años nuevamente!! Gracias por compartirlo!!

  • One of the best shows at the time. Had something for everybody.

  • I know that the end theme was first used in an episode of Bonanza. Could anybody remind me which episode it is? I never caught the title.

  • At the end of the credits, Melissa Gilbert lifts her arms up like she's flying on an airplane. Of course, there would be no such thing as an airplane at that place in time. Funny how nobody caught that.

  • @happy543210 perhaps she thought she was a pigeon

  • @happy543210 she may have been acting like she is a bird

  • the BEST show. It was about true values and love and family..those matter most in the end!!

  • @eric777100763 Yeah and how the world has changed.

  • I was a huge fan as well. I'm not sure, but I think the show was on at Wednesday evenings here in Denmark. Wonderful actors and scripts - and I think that my generation really benefited from that show. Yes, it was just a TV-show, but think of the moral and ethical values which are so incorporated into the stories. You don't she shows like this any more. Today tv-shows for kids are just action, magic and entertainment - and no basic message..

  • You know this episode was SO stupid because there were those two men assaulting Caroline in the middle of town. Usually people are coming and going to and from the store and the Feed and Seed etc- but here the streets are totally deserted.

  • Well, All I can say is that they don't make television like this anymore for the family to watch,

  • @056716 true that!

  • i love little house on the prairie!

  • my sister loved this show, I didn't care for it, but hearing the the music, especially the end credits man that brings back a ton of memories of growing up in the 70's.

  • I used to see it Sunday 12noon during school term on RTE1 Irish tv and in summer holidays they had Sunday 12noon the Waltons.

I was a huge fan of Little House on The Prairie school and whenever as a child I heard the end theme for some reason I would cry.

  • My life was sooo diferent back then. No worries about anything. I was actually happy and viewed life in a super positive way. I don't know what happened to everything and why it has become what it is. Today, everything is problems, stress, corruption, crime is high, people in general don't care anymore. I can see the shallow, gloominess, sadness in everyone's eyes. Everything is about money, people looking to screw one another for money. Why??

  • ha ha ha 42 sec in that little kid falling over.,.. i remember this..

  • Its being aired in Holland daily again every afternoon and I now watch it with my kids.

They love it just as much as I did in the seventies.Timeless entertainment and so beautifully made!!!

No answering the door or phone from 5 till 6 over here!

  • Poor Michael Landon.

  • YEAH im 26 and still watching it , gonna buy the dvds.

  • This show brings back so many memories when I was growing up. It came on Monday nights at 8:00 on NBC. I was always sitting on the floor glued to the TV set. I remember my bedtime was 9:00 on school nights. The 70's was a great decade if you were a kid in those days. Thanks for the memories 70sChannel.

  • Well I was born in 1968 aaand you are sooo right!! And you are soo right growing up in the 70´s was the best time ever!!

Do you remember "Family" with Kristy McNichol love that toooo,. so much..

  • Too bad we don't have a time machine and go back to that era. I born in 1966 and the 70's treated me really good. I remember "Family" back then. It came on at 10:00 on ABC I believe. I had to beg my parents to stay up late to watch it. I had a crush on Kristy McNichol. Those were the days.

  • Time machine,.. ha! Would be great:o))

If you have an idea, please tell me and don´t forget me to take me with you:o)))

Maybe we should ask Marty McFly, ha..

Oh yes Kristy was so adorable,..

    Goooood times!! Wonderful childhood..

  • I think we should ask Marty McFly. I'm ready to go back, ha... We can watch "Family" all over again:o)) Do you still watch the old shows? I have a few on DVD. I wanna get the original "Bionic Woman" and "Six Million Dollar Man". I can say I had a HAPPY HAPPY childhood....

  • Yes we should, haha:o))

We haven´t a channel with the old shows...:o( but I got the most of them on DVD "Little House", "Waltons" and so on...but "Family" isn´t available in Germany:o((( either on TV neither on DVD... That´s such a pitty!!! Cause I loved that show sooo much.

  • I did some research, and "Family" is available on DVD. Sony Picture home entertainment released the complete first and second seasons on DVD. It came out on Sept. 2006, with 28 episodes. You can try Amazon, Ebay, or any DVD online websites. Have it shipped to your house and enjoy viewing it. The DVD set is a region 1, but I'm pretty sure it can play on your DVD player in Germany. Todays DVD players accepts both regions. Oh by the way, Marty McFly was on vacation. I couldn't reach him, haha....

  • Marty McFly was on vacation... oh boy you are sooo funny?!? I like it,..hahah:o))

You did some research for me,.. ??...you are so kind,..thanks for help...:o)

Well, that´s interesting and I´ll do my own research now,.. and I´m going to tell you if I was successful.. thanks again.

  • I can imagine how great it was - being a kid back then and watching Little House on the Prairie!! :) I love the 70s!!

  • I totally agree with you, I love the 70's too!! In fact, Little House on the Prarie was my all-time favorite TV show during that decade. I had a crush on Melissa Gilbert back in the day.

  • Ooh, nice to hear that! Melissa Gilbert is awesome, she was so cute as Laura. I loved Little House when I was little (in the 90s) and now when they came on dvd I discovered the show again and it is my absolute number one favorite! And my favorite character is Albert Ingalls and Matthew Laborteaux is my favorite actor! :) It is so nostalgic, emotional and beautiful show with heavy drama and also a lot of fun!!

  • I watch this on the Christian channel and it touches my heart the same way it did 35

    years ago - nothing's changed.

  • i miss the simpiler times also

  • Little House is the best show ever!!!!!!!

  • For some reason I couldn't stand the theme when I watched the show as a kid. I decided to catch it up on YouTube to see if my tastes have changed. And yes, I enjoyed it a lot more than I did then.

  • How Wonderful! These clips are like time machines. Immediately I can see myself rushing home from school so as not to miss an episode. They bring back glorious childhood memories, Thank you,. x
