It's the Grumman C-2A. I started FlightGear at Nimitz. As you can see at 0:26, I let the carrier turn into the wind. Then I looked up the direction I wanted to sail, and just changed the wind direction to 'steer' the carrier. Then I took of from the ship and landed on the Golden Gate Bridge to get some nice shots for the video and sometimes I corrected the windspeed as Nimitz sailed under the bridge :-)
It's really fun to do, you should definitely try it, but it takes quite some time to do it.
Well, I'm not sure, but, I propose that you were in control of the carrier and the plane. if you were, how did you get two models (E.G: two grummans) on together, if you were not,... i dunno
Yes I was in 'control' of the carrier ànd the plane. The carrier is always there in FlightGear, whether you manipulate it to steer by changing the wind-direction or not, it's there ;-) You don't really steer it via the keyboard or mouse, but you change the wind-direction via the top-menu.
The aircraft was controlled the usual way: using the arrow-keys/mouse/joystick. There was only one grumman actually (where did you see the second one?), I downloaded it from: flightgear • org */* Downloads
where do i download nimitz?
