  • """Neo liberalism and most liberals believe"""...FALSE..you have allowed Neoconservatives to hijack these words and distort their meanings as a means to demonize to discredit liberals in general..a systematic purposeful dishonest and despicable act perpetrated by the neocons and zionists as well as the banking corporate mafias they run...

  • Neo liberalism and most liberals beleive. That if one man benefits. The other must loose. completely Wrong and proven wrong. In free trade both sides benefit. Regulations create monopolies.

  • NGO non govt orgs...(WTO, IMF etc) do not represent CAPITALISM. Truth is..they represent CRONY Capitalism = Feudelism (Neo Feudelism)

  • neoliberalism and neoconservatism seems to be aiming for the same goal, which is oligarchy?

  • Critics argue that neoliberal policies are an attempt to create new opportunities for capital accumulation to strengthen the interests of capital relative to labor, pointing out that despite increased freedom of capital flows, there is no free flow of labor across borders granting capital asymmetric bargaining power over labor and governments.

  • Pilger talks like he has the magic recipe to solve poverty. It sounds like he's proposing world socialism since that would be the only way to get wealth to poor areas besides relatively free trade, which he despises. No doubt the IMF, WorldBank, and WTO represent money interests considering that all capital has strings. It's a pretty naive view to think they can be replaced by institutions that won't behave in the same way as the current ones.

  • in which world is Melbourne a "western country"?

  • We must turn off mainstream brainwash for 5 min and see things for what they are. As a 43 year old Canadian it's clear to me we work much harder to maintain the same quality of life as 10 years ago yet there are more billionaires. It's clear to see if you are willing to look! Regardless of what side of the argument you are on how do we sleep at night? Let us demand better for our society and from our elected officials to do better for all of us! Bob Dylan said oh the times they are a changing.

  • I am so sick of hearing the LW vs RW argument. It only blurs the lines of reality & progress for all of us. You need 2 wings to fly with one wing u will just spiral downward eventually crashing into the ground. If the WTO, IMF, G8 or G20 was good for people in general, why are everyday people flocking by the thousands to protest. Why do our police forces now look like futuristic soldiers hiding behind masks and helmets? Why do these leaders need protection?

    Why not look after eachother?

  • @TranshumanCyborg I concur with your opinion that globalization itself is not an issue, it has more to do with the underlying economic theories driving globalization.

In theory, neoliberalism is a project to create a common world market where resources would be allocated efficiently without pesky nations getting in the way. :P

In practice, neoliberalism is the domination of the world by the interests of capital.

The real question is: is there an alternate form of globalization?Food for thought!

  • @Battlecry17 NO, people must work locally but still have cooperation with other nations and societies...I'm so sick of these NGO non govt orgs...(WTO, IMF etc) dictating that capitalism usurps everything else. To me, capitalism is slavery...now anyway.

  • @FRSFreeStateES Neoliberalism is simply a category denoting the current globalization trend based on the theories of neoclassical economics. The term is accepted by both those on the right and those on the "left" as an analytical category.

The major distinction between classical liberalism and neoliberalism is their underlying economic theories (classical economics vs neoclassical economics), the role of financialization and extent of globalization that is possible today.

  • @Battlecry17

See I view Neoliberalism as centrism but centrism and liberalism are two different Political Ideology's. The Far Left came up with this term Neoliberalism to describe people as they see as Centrist Democrats. The New Democrat Group as example.

  • @FRSFreeStateES Neoliberalism would be considered right-wing because of its underlying principles and theories, and the fact that its policies end up promoting the interests of capital.

If for simplicity's sake, we say socialism = Left and Capitalism = Right, then a truly "centrist" position would be something like market socialism (public ownership combined with capital accumulation) or a transition between capitalism and socialism. The views of Democrats would thus be very much to the Right.

  • @Battlecry17

Someone who's pretty far to the left who is a Democratic Socialist like a Bernie Sanders or a Classical Socialist like a Fidel Castro. Would view centrism as Right Wing because its to the right of them.

  • @Battlecry17

To me as a liberal I capitalism with Rule of Law to prevent people from abusing other people in the Free Market system is liberal. Because people have Economic Freedom. And freedom for the people is what liberals care about.

  • @Battlecry17

To me as a liberal Classical Socialism which like what Cuba has or Democratic Socialism like in Britain. Would be Far Left by American Standards. Because we live in a Liberal Democracy not a Socialist Democracy. And we want our Economic Freedom.

  • @Battlecry17

The Milton Friedman version of what I would call Cowboy Capitalism. Where there's no regulation and government is completely out of the economy. Would be Far Right capitalism.

  • @FRSFreeStateES That's right...and it's crazy fuckers like him who have caused so many so much fucking pain...it's time for the people...

  • @Battlecry17 now hold on everyone....I was taught that Liberal in the classic sense is as some say here...an unending hegemonic view that the US must obtain leverage over ALL (eventually) nations....obviously..liberal (small l) is just the right and left....I believe that's pretty simple to get. There is no doubt the people are rising up in South America...Hopefully one day we will do it here too. I stand 100% with the workers in WI. FUCK YOU GOV WALKER!!!!!!

  • @Battlecry17 LOL! If anything their begging to buy their stuff, and guess who benefits? The producer, the reason why it's cheap because it doesn't have the burden of the state on it. You just as bad as the neo-conservatives. lol

  • Neo-Liberalism = rape the world and make a ton of money doing it

  • Excellent video, much food for thought. Faved and Shared

  • The airlines were so fucked up before they were deregulated.

  • UIC LOVE!

  • @decko5 lmao

  • @SirDeliciously Read a book

  • @rickbar123 this is prolly coming from a pomps jealous public school educated American who can no longer feel truly patriotic as his country is in ze shitter!

Oh and by American I also imply one who does not read books!

  • @SirDeliciously I never really felt all that patriotic. I read all the time. I am not jealous. Your right on the public school thing.

  • Where is this clip taken from? Or who produced it?

  • @12three451 It comes from the end of theJohn Pilger documentary 'the New Rulers of the World'.

  • Well understood, thanks.

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!

  • The British had an Empire that set out to give it's peoples a perpose and hope

it was destroyed by the Hitler War and replaced by an American Free Market Empire that runs off the like it or lump it Social Darwinism operating system.

No wonder we are all feeling sick?

  • The poor aren't getting poorer. What nonsense!

  • @fomastephanovitch You should look at the statistics and you will find that this is the case, and has always been during the history of where neoliberalism has been the dominant economic consensus.

  • Poor countries want trade not aid. It is the lack of globalization that has impoverished. The protectionism that this video is espousing hurts the poor. Utube "Kenya trade not aid"

  • @padraigomairtin These collages have become propaganda outlets for Free Trade. People in poor countries want trade like black people in the19th century wanted chattel slavery. You know, your argument was often the same one used by owners of slaves to justify slavery back then. And as far as your lies about protectionism, ask China if it's protectionism is hurting it's growth. We all know the ultimate goal for neo-liberalist is consolidation of wealth and power.

  • thanks for posting

  • WTO = Whirled Tread Occultation.. 8P

  • I agree with you unifikation....The thing is who fucking cares? Some people voted on some things that may seem good but have become accountable to NOBODY. Fuck the British government and their selling out of people and FORCING it on other RICH countries like the United States of America. I say fuck all that nonsense.

  • Excellent video. Thank you...
